As his chances of victory in the November election appear to grow, some world leaders have started making limited overtures to Trump in preparation for a possible second presidency. One of these has been Zelensky, who is heavily reliant on the United States for support in its war with Russia. Both parties said the call was productive.Trump said Zelensky congratulated him on winning the Republican nomination for president and condemned the “heinous assassination attempt” last Saturday. Thursday night, the last night of the convention, Eric Trump spoke ahead of his father's address, following moving remarks and prayer offered by Franklin Graham. Eric began by reflecting on his father's announcement to the family eight years ago that he'd made a decision that would forever change their lives.

Donald Trump may well have sealed the outcome of the 2024 election with a performance on Thursday night in Milwaukee that has largely been unmatched in recent American political history. The former president eschewed the polarization and division that has marked much of his rhetoric in the past. In his speech officially accepting the Republican Party's nomination there were only a couple of references to the 2020 election. Trump was able to hit on key messages when speaking about topics like inflation, and especially immigration, in ways that were compelling and arguably responsive to the fundamental concerns of Americans. I say this not to engage in hyperbole,

Why does she always do this? Kamala Harris was in North Carolina rallying a small crowd of supporters as Joe Biden stayed out of the public eye after he announced he has Covid. Harris mustered a fake accent as she delivered a campaign speech to North Carolina rallygoers in a city near Fort Liberty (previously Fort Bragg). “We too busy watchin’ what you doin’ to hear what you’re sayin,'” Harris said in her fake accent. Three generations of Donald Trump's family surrounded him on stage after he accepted the Republican nomination during a marathon speech recounting the horrifying moment he was shot by a would-be assassin. Melania Trump came up behind her husband - still with a bandage on his ear - on stage then got a kiss on the cheek at the end of a historic night just days after he was inches of losing his life. The 77-year-old's 93-minute speech, a record in modern history, started by recounting the moment where he was within a 'quarter of an inch' of being killed and reliving the amount of blood that spilled on his face.

MILWAUKEE — Donald Trump brought on stage the fire helmet and jacket of Corey Comperatore during his speech to the Republican National Committee Thursday — honoring the supporter murdered Saturday during the assassination attempt on the former president. Trump, 78, kissed the helmet of Comperatore, 50, the former chief of the Buffalo Township, Pa., who was fatally struck by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20. Trump’s right ear was grazed by a bullet in the attack and he spoke with a bandage covering the wound. When Donald Trump seemed to have a lock on the 2016 Republican primary, the Democratic Party concluded that the people could not be counted on to do the "right thing" of electing the Democratic candidate in waiting for Hillary Clinton. Eight long years of extralegal efforts followed to neuter the candidate, then President, then ex-President, and then-candidate again, Donald Trump. The nonstop efforts were all justified as "saving democracy" -- albeit by nearly destroying it. In 2015-2016, the Hillary Clinton campaign fueled the lie that discredited ex-British spy Christopher Steele had discovered Trump to be a veritable Russian agent.

Former President Donald Trump crushed the record for the longest-ever nomination acceptance speech on Thursday night at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, speaking for 92 minutes — past midnight on the East Coast — just days after surviving an assassination attempt. ABC News and others reported that the 92-minute speech was a record. Trump often speaks off-the-cuff for more than an hour at campaign rallies, but to do so after nearly being killed, and late at night, was a signal that he is stronger than ever. The contrast to President Joe Biden was implicit, but clear. With aides suggesting Biden is only at his prime from the hours

During his RNC speech on Thursday evening, Trump vowed to “end the Electric Vehicle mandate on day one — thereby saving the U.S. auto industry from complete obliteration, which is happening right now, and saving U.S. customers thousands and thousands of dollars per car.” Trump mentioned that China is looking to build manufacturing plants in Mexico to produce EVs that they want to then sell in the U.S. market without any tariffs. Just days after a smelly, pimply-faced incel tried to put a bullet in his head, President Trump accepted the Republican nomination for president. He was surrounded by family and faithful Republicans, eager to help him make America great again. Hulk Hogan's speech made me want to take a hot-tub time machine back to April 19, 1775, and unload muskets at lobsterbacks at Lexington and Concord. Eric Trump's speech dropped truth bombs all over the joint. But President Trump transcended everything with a speech he reportedly wrote himself, days after a narcissistic animal tried to upend American history.

Don't believe the reports that Biden has conceded that he must leave the race. He may eventually do so, but the Democrats are still piling on, which would definitely NOT happen if he really were writing a speech to leave the race to be delivered Sunday. Democrats are still piling on, upping the pressure on Biden. The leaks out there indicating Biden is looking for a graceful exit are most definitely wrong. Mark Halperin, a former MSN reporter who is out on his own, has claimed that his sources have told him that Biden is preparing to exit the race. Lots of other media outlets

With much of the nation's attention on the Republican convention, some may not be keeping up with the Democrat civil war between the establishment and Joe Biden. Earlier in the day, Biden's campaign launched a nuclear blast at Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama for attempting to lecture Biden on polling and his electoral standing. A campaign official told NBC's Mark Memoli that this triumvirate handed the 2016 election to Donald Trump by convincing Biden to step aside, and that their pressure campaign wouldn't work this time around. The White House got into the act later, and perhaps a bit more diplomatically, in response to rumors

Now that the Republicans have wrapped up their hugely successful convention and as calls for President Joe Biden to step down are accelerating, the question that must be asked is: Can the Democratic Party survive? Donald Trump made one key decision this week that could seal the party’s fate. First, some history. When Ronald Reagan won the Republican Party’s nomination in 1980, Democrats were in a similar bind as they are today. The party was in disarray, the nation fed up with clueless leaders, and voters were ready for the bold conservative leadership Reagan promised. But Reagan made one fatal mistake.

Milwaukee — Three and a half years ago, Donald Trump departed the White House feeling dejected by a narrow electoral loss that he refused to concede. The next two years looked similarly grim: Former allies launched primary campaigns against him, former donors stayed on the sidelines, and a sea of pundits predicted his campaign would be dead in the water come 2024. But Thursday evening, he received a hero’s welcome from a convention audience that is completely unified behind him and feeling unusually confident in his chances of winning back the White House.
