2024 Trump’s Triumph At The RNC Suggests
Something Bigger Than Politics Is Unfolding

It’s difficult to describe historical moments as they’re unfolding, but let me hazard a few initial observations about former President Donald Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night. Watching a presidential candidate (and former president) describe his near-assassination less than a week after a bullet came within millimeters of ending his life is quite simply the most captivating, awe-inspiring thing that has ever happened at a political convention in this country.

Comments:

I agree! It sure feels like a sea-change is happening.

The Demonrats took God out of their convention 4 years ago and all hell has broken out in our Country (and the world). President Trump has placed Almighty God on the top of his agenda, may God help our Country, and continue to protect him.

I was moved by Trump's personal story of the assassination and his eventual appeal to "divine providence." Even for atheists, there exist deep subconscious archetypes of forces beyond our power that determine our fate. Trump's response to being shot showed a quality of his character that the Greeks called "amor fati" or love of fate. This is the hallmark of a noble person in the ancient world. What was displayed at the RNC convention was a man of nobility who transcends the comforts of wealth and embraces struggle in life for its own sake. Compared to his sickly and weak political rival, he exhibited health, strength, fertility, and a will to power. This vision resonates well with Hispanic and conservative black communities that prefer a natural order of gender relationships. The old order will attack him for these very virtues, which they assert smack of "exceptionalism" and "Christian Nationalism." They are romantics in the sense of Rousseau and Jefferson. Secretly, they wish Trump was one of them.

#5 I'm thinking thatthat DNC was more than 4 years ago but it doesn't matter. I had never watched a day of a DNC in my long life and I happened to be watching that day when they were doing the voting to remove God from their platform. I remember it well.

I was talking with 2 of my children a couple days ago, and I told them that I felt like things are, ever so slowly, starting to change. I think people are tired of being micro-managed by the government, tired of not being able to have honest and open discourse with others whether they ever reach agreement or not, tired of not being able to just live and enjoy their lives, tired of being told they are evil or bigoted because they don't agree with certain ideas, etc. People want to live and be left alone by the freaking government. People want to live free. Period, end.

The "something bigger" includes the death of the democrat party, which has been actively working to destroy this country. Puppet Biden no longer matters, the people behind the curtain have been fingered and will be permanently put out of action. Both Donald Trump and American Patriots have a "take no prisoners" attitude and I like it.

Three law enforcement officers were stationed inside the building where a gunman shot former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally Saturday. Two days after the failed assassination attempt, BeaverCountian.com reported that an officer confirmed “there were three counter-snipers” stationed underneath the same roof where the assailant blew off part of President Trump’s right ear. Officers notified the “command center” about the threat before the gunman fatally shot a rallygoer and injured three others, including the Republican presidential nominee.

The Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling in Murthy v. Missouri dropped Wednesday, shattering the hopes of conservatives that maybe, just maybe, the Judicial Branch would stand up for the First Amendment rights of ordinary Americans against the egregious abuses of the executive bureaucracy. But no. The Court instead ruled that the plaintiffs lacked standing because the Biden White House allegedly backed off of its censorship campaign after the 2022 midterms (it didn’t). The ruling essentially allows the federal government to continue trampling on the First Amendment rights of ordinary Americans by deputizing social media companies to do what federal agencies cannot do directly: police what Americans are allowed to say online.

Either you’re willing to jail Democrats on the same terms they’re using to jail Trump, or you’re merely controlled opposition. The conviction of former President Donald Trump on manufactured charges in a Stalinist show trial this week marks a crossroads for the Republican Party. From now on, the civil war inside the GOP will be between those who understand they must do to Democrats what Democrats have done to Trump, and those who think they can trundle along with business as usual.

t didn’t take long for the NFL to come out and condemn recent remarks from Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, saying his views, given during a commencement speech at Benedictine College over the weekend, “are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.” What horrible, non-inclusive things did the 28-year-old Butker say? He committed the crime of giving public witness to his faith, espousing views every faithful Catholic holds — along with a great many non-Catholic Christians.

Recall the “dinner” as Washington DC’s annual tradition wherein TV news people, newspaper reporters, and White House officials let it all hang out to drink and selfie with C-list celebrities for a week, all under the pretense of awarding scholarships to budding reporters.

The following essay is adapted from the author’s new book, Pagan America: The Decline of Christianity and the Dark Age to Come. It’s hard to survey the state of our country and not conclude that something is very wrong in America. I don’t just mean with our economy or the border or rampant crime in our cities, but with our basic grasp on reality itself. Our cultural and political elite now insist that men can become women, and vice versa, and that even children can consent to what they euphemistically call “gender-affirming care.”

It’s pretty clear at this point that Democrats’ main election strategy against Donald Trump has nothing to do with Joe Biden running a savvy political campaign. Instead, they’re attempting to defeat Trump with a series of obviously politically coordinated lawsuits and criminal charges, hoping this will both drain Trump’s resources and any resulting convictions would tarnish him in the eyes of voters. Suffice it to say, this strategy is not working out well for them — Biden hasn’t led in the polls in six months.

Video of the clash, which was filmed by reporters from the New York Post, quickly went viral. The nearly 400-page special counsel report confirms an overlap in the timing and topics of Joe Biden’s vice presidency and Hunter Biden’s ‘business’ enterprises. The special counsel report on Joe Biden’s unauthorized removal and disclosure of classified documents exposed much more than our president’s mental deficits and the breadth of his irresponsible handling of top-secret and classified information. The report revealed a close nexus between Hunter Biden’s influence peddling and his father’s responsibilities and access to intel during the elder’s term as vice president.

And privately, many of those leaders have expressed doubts about his path forward. Former President Barack Obama’s only public comment came the day after Biden’s disastrous debate last month, when he tweeted “Bad debate nights happen“ and talked about his former vice president’s virtues. Donald Trump may well have sealed the outcome of the 2024 election with a performance on Thursday night in Milwaukee that has largely been unmatched in recent American political history. The former president eschewed the polarization and division that has marked much of his rhetoric in the past. In his speech officially accepting the Republican Party's nomination there were only a couple of references to the 2020 election. Trump was able to hit on key messages when speaking about topics like inflation, and especially immigration, in ways that were compelling and arguably responsive to the fundamental concerns of Americans. I say this not to engage in hyperbole,

For the first time, researchers have voted to eliminate scientific names of organisms because they are offensive. Botanists decided that more than 200 plants, fungi and algae species names should no longer contain a racial slur related to the word caffra, which is used against Black people and others mostly in southern Africa. The changes voted on today at the International Botanical Congress in Madrid mean that plants such as the coast coral tree will, from 2026, be formally called Erythrina affra, instead of Erythrina caffra. (snip) The measure passed in a tense secret ballot, with 351 votes in favour against 205 opposed.
