America’s trust in the media has plateaued over the last few years with only around one-in-three Americans saying they trust the news.
Visual Capitalist's Marcus Lu visualizes the percentage of Americans who trust (or distrust) various news organizations. Importantly, this is not an exhaustive list of media brands.

Most trustworthy is not the same as most trusted.
This article is about most trusted.

Lots of massively corrupt propaganda outlets are highly trusted.
Lots of people are gullible as hell.

None of them trustworthy. It's that simple.

Take note of the source: "Data is sourced from a 2024 YouGov survey commissioned by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism."
I do not know who YouGov is, and what their methods are.
I believe that there is enough data floating around in Big Data about each of us....age, sex, ethnicity, amount and source of income, where we live, do we own or rent our home, when we last voted, where we shop and what we buy using credit cards, where we browse on the Web.... that each of our political opinions can be determined with a high degree of certainty.
Given this, a survey can be easily designed to take a 'random sample' of people with whatever qualities are desired.
A 'random sample' of urban dwellers in subsidized housing and on welfare will yield one result,
A 'random sample' of people who live and work in, or are students at, say, Columbia University will yield a different result.
A 'random sample' of people who live and work in a manufacturing town will yield a different result, and
A 'random sample' of people who live in a rural areas and farm for a living will give yet another result.
A 'random sample' may have percentages of 'random samples' from various groups, proportioned so as to give the desired result..... whatever result the customer wants.
I believe we should view the result of ANY 'survey' with a good deal of skepticism.

FTA: "More than 2,000 nationally representative Americans were asked to rate a brand’s trustworthiness on a scale of 0–10".
How about a breakdown of the political affiliation of those 2,000 nationally representative Americans?

So YouGov asks for a poll. What the heck do you think would be the results? Ha!
I imagine that they scued the polls to prop up the State Media complex. It's pretty much that simple. Those who say that they trust their local news, aren't paying attention. The local news stations may report local stories partically correctly, HOWEVER when they report "National News" they get their info from their affiliates which are usually wrong and biased.
These articles that state "most Trustworthy" is nothing but propaganda. They must think we are so stupid. LOL.

I've been taking YouGov polls for years and let me tell you...they are about as leftwing as CNN. There is a spot at the end of each poll where you can leave comments about that poll. I'm surprised I haven't been kicked off their list and banned.

Fine and good, but what is the viewership/ readership of each outlet, I.e., CNN is in the tank, and who watches the BBC? I confess to subscribing to the NYT, but that’s because of the Crossword and food articles, and the Athletic, which comes with the Times subscrip

Not a new organization but my most trusted source of news is X/Twitter. Fast information quickly clarified and/or debunked via crowdsourcing. I don't even trust local news because so much of it is parroting larger less trustworthy (read as agenda driven) sources. I'm an adult. I can figure it out if I get accurate information.
