Multiple reports have indicated that U.S. negotiators believe that Iran has committed to giving up its nuclear ambitions and its highly enriched uranium as a part of a broader peace deal with President Donald Trump.
On Saturday afternoon, President Trump announced that an “agreement has been largely negotiated” between Washington and Tehran. However, Mr Trump said that the final details of the deal were still being discussed and would not be made public at the time.
According to a report from the New York Times, citing “two U.S. officials”, the Islamist regime in Iran verbally agreed to U.S. negotiators that it would give up its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.

Well, I hope so, but they have lied so much that it's very difficult to trust anything that they say.

Iranians might sign an agreement, but then they’ll immediately starting killing to prove that no one is going to tell them to stop enriching uranium. And of course they are not going to turn over the uranium supply to anyone, especially the US. I don’t trust them for a second.

Shall we start a pool to see how many minutes it will be before they violate any agreement?

I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them, and that also goes for all of our allies and 'friends' in the area, with the exception of Israel, and that's iffy! All of our 'allies/friends' there are muzzies, and they're about as trustworthy as a democrat! I'd trust Schiff, Schumer or Pelosi, before I'd trust a muzzie.

Agree with the above posters.... the Iranians lie, cheat, and will do anything to achieve their aims.
On the other hand, President Trump is no fool, he has America's best interest at heart, he does what he says he is going to do, and he is not afraid to take whatever action is needed. I trust President Trump to do what needs to be done, and I support him 100%.
OK, L-Dotters, answer me this.... does anyone know of anyone else who, in his position, could do better?

As I see it, we caved. We should have wiped the IRGC off the face of the earth. As long as the IRGC exists, the people of Iran are doomed.

Arming the Iranian population is the only way.

Trump will consider folding because it's almost June and he needs to bring the effort to a close. Despite all the rosy optimism posted here from Red State and other pundits, the Republican Party is in real trouble in the polls and the head of the party needs to rid himself of this albatross and focus full time on the economy and keeping the House (there's some redundancy there). Otherwise, impeachment proceedings will start in January.

The practical realities of taking the uranium are not simple.
It apparently has remained in the form of uranium hexafloride, a solid at room temp and pressure but it boils to gas at 133F. AND it apparently was all or perhaps most of it in their underground bunkers for their enrichment halls, which we blew all to hell.
So, this stuff is buried in shattered bunker, in shattered and crushed centrifuges, is radioactive and scattered around hundreds of feet below ground.
We will have to dig it up, separate it from the rubble, all without dying from radiation and without leaving it scattered around.
Highly non-trivial, which is an understatement.
This is more like months of engineers and construction workers on the ground in Iran than picking up a couple of palkets of stuff from some warehouse.

Who's lying? Iran or the media? This sounds like a narrative.

Regardless of their intent, just publicly making such a promise is a major milestone. Their clerics have been screaming that they will never give up the enriched uranium. I predict some kind of internal battle within Iran leadership. Hopefully, this will be enough to drop the price of oil and thereby shutting up the Dems.

That may be true, but to wipe the IRGC off the face of the earth would also kill the people of Iran, wouldnt it?
