For now, I’m taking at face value that Biden has withdrawn from the presidential campaign via a tweeted-out letter, with the promise of a live statement to follow. However, a surprising number of people believe that, considering how consequential Biden’s statement is, a tweeted-out letter suggests a coup rather than a voluntary resignation. More than anything, this reveals how the Biden administration has destroyed all trust in the government. To catch you up on things, Biden put out two separate tweets. The first, at 1:46 p.m. Eastern Time, announced his resignation:

Economists – who have predicted seven of the last four recessions – will tell you that trade tariffs are bad. The reason tariffs are bad is that they make imported goods more expensive. The money for the tariff has to come from somewhere, so it gets built into the price of the product. So, the effect of an American tariff on, say, televisions made in China is to raise the prices to the American consumer. OK, I buy that. But what does that mean in real life? It means that a family in Peoria that would like to buy a 60” TV might have to settle for a 52” screen.

Can you think of anyone worse than President Joe Biden to run the White House? I can— and that’s twice-failed presidential Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton. An op-ed published by “The Hill” argued that America is desperately “ready for round two” of a Clinton ticket. As Democrats work to push Biden out of the 2024 race, the outlet asks who would be the strongest candidate to challenge former President Donald Trump, suggesting that Clinton is “not just a good one but one of the most qualified people ever to run for office.”

“There must be a reason,” the eighteen-year-old kid said to his friends. “A reason for something like that to happen, and I think you have to pay attention to not just that but also all the reasons he is running when you go into the voting booth this year.”It was a bizarre line to overhear from a group of freshly graduated seniors at our pool over the weekend. Nevertheless, that was their conversation, and it was not so quiet. In the New York City area, we’re not accustomed to people—especially young people—being so verbally vocal, especially about politics, especially about supporting President Trump in his re-election efforts.

Someone alert Elon Musk. NASA’s Curiosity rover made a “mind-blowing” discovery on Mars — yellowish-green crystals of pure sulfur, never before seen on Earth’s mysterious red neighbor, according to scientists. The literal ground-breaking find was made after the one-ton Curiosity drove over a pile of rocks and cracked one open while probing the deep and winding Gediz Vallis channel, believed to have been formed by water 3 billion years ago. “I think it’s the strangest find of the whole mission and the most unexpected,” Ashwin Vasavada, Curiosity project scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory [JPL] in Pasadena, California, told CNN. “I have to say, there’s a lot of luck involved here.

Gov. Chris Sununu signed two gender identity-related bills into law on Friday and vetoed a third. Sununu signed HB 619, which bans gender-reassignment surgery for minors. Sununu also signed HB 1205, which requires school sports from middle school ages and older to be organized by a student's sex on their birth certificate. Both bills have been up in the air for a few months. In a statement this afternoon, Sununu explained the reasons for each bill. "This bill focuses on protecting the health and safety of New Hampshire’s children," said Sununu regarding HB 619. "It ensures fairness and safety in women’s sports by maintaining integrity and competitive balance in athletic competitions," Sununu said regarding HB 1205.

Remember that schoolyard game we used to play as children, where one person turns their back and everyone else runs toward them, until they turn around and you have to stop in your tracks? Then they turn their back again, and you see how close you can get before they spin back around? Note that, if you’re one of the runners, you never have to go backward. You just stop and remain in place until they’re not looking, then move forward again. That is essentially the story of Marxist leftism over the past 100 years or so

Fox News host Jesse Watters recently conducted a sit-down interview with former President Trump to discuss last week's failed assassination attempt. The interview, which will premiere on "Jesse Watters Primetime" on Monday night at 8 p.m. ET, featured both Trump and his vice presidential candidate JD Vance. Vance currently serves as a U.S. Senator representing Ohio. The three men discussed the assassination attempt against the former president last week. Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at Trump from a roof in the middle of a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, wounding the presidential candidate on his right ear. Trump revealed during the interview that he was not warned about Crooks by the U.S. Secret Service.

"And so with that, I come with a heavy heart to think the time has come for him to pass the torch to a new generation." Manchin changed his party registration from Democrat to independent this year, though he still caucuses with the Democrats in the Senate. ABC host Martha Raddatz asked Manchin directly if he believes Biden should step aside

The best way to do that is to enact President Trump’s policies,” Pensler said during the rally before he endorsed his GOP running mate. “To do that, we need control of the Senate. A divisive, continued primary effort hurts the chances of that, and that’s not okay. So tonight, I am doing the right thing and ceasing my senate candidacy.”

Sean Hannity: Tell us what these whistleblowers are telling you that is most alarming to you. Josh Hawley: Well, one thing is that most of the detail assigned to Trump that day, into that rally, were not Secret Service. Ever change your mind on anything or anyone? I bet you have. Do you know why I’d bet that way? Because you’re a human being, which makes you capable of all sorts of amazing things, especially the ability to learn new things and adapt to that knowledge. OK, maybe not ALL human beings have that skill – I’d tell Democrats to change their minds, but they shouldn’t work without tools – but those with an IQ larger than their hat size certainly can. This is why so many in the media seem to be confused by the idea that some people have changed their minds about Donald Trump.

If you are a Trump-hating Democrat, you are probably having trouble separating your nightmares from reality. After all, the Republicans just had a wildly successful convention while your party is forming circular firing squads. Worst of all, Joe Biden has picked a terrible time to throw a hissy fit, making it impossible to know who will be your party’s presidential nominee. Consider two reports circulating Friday: One says Biden is “in it to win it” and sees a path to victory, the other insists he and his family are discussing his imminent withdrawal. At this point, it’s not clear which is true or even which would be better for Dems.

Jackson’s memo comes a week after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots from the rooftop of a nearby building with a direct line of sight of Trump.
