Illinois Democrats are divided over Kamala
Harris replacing President Biden

Original Article

Illinois Democrats praised President Joe Biden’s decision to drop his presidential bid on Sunday, but not all were immediately on board with Biden’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place. “I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination,” Harris said in a statement. The divisions among Illinois Democrats mirror national divides among delegates and Democratic leaders as the bombshell announcement, while not unexpected at this point, is still sending political shockwaves weeks before the Democratic convention kicks off in Chicago on Aug. 19.

The parallels and 2024 to the summer of 1968 are downright scary. Just as we have this year, in 1968. The Democrats had lost their president after JFK and then Jay LBJ and their horrific big government tax and spend policies had been tearing America apart for eight years.domestic issues, as well as the Vietnam war had America polarized. The television coverage of the Chicago convention, the violence that occurred outside the convention, and the goings on in the convention that ended up with Hubert Humphrey as their doomed candidate, had the unfortunate effect for the Democrats of showing America, just how un-Democratic the process of choosing a candidate was in those days. All the downloads are going to have another convention in Chicago, a very open convention, which will very likely again show all of the naïve liberals just how Democratic the Democratic Party can be.

Yes, #2, I have pointed out that history while not repeating, is going to sort of rhyme. And yes, the last Chicago convention was a disaster for Dems, inside and outside the building. I hope they have a similar disaster this time.

Joe had to be forced to endorse Kamala, just as he had to be forced to step down. I have read too many articles about how there was no love lost between the Biden team and the Harris team. I hope some day we are told what was used to force Joe out.

Donald Trump revealed in a newly aired interview what President Biden told him shortly after the Republican presidential nominee survived an assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania campaign rally. “He said, ‘You’re lucky you turned to the right,’” Trump, 78, told Fox News host Jesse Watters of his phone call with the 81-year-old president. Trump narrowly escaped death on July 13 when he turned his head to look at a chart put up on a screen just as 20-year-old Thomas Crooks opened fire during the rally in Butler, Pa.

Vice President Kamala Harris was rated the most liberal senator in 2019 — further left than even Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) — according to a GovTrack scorecard. Harris, whom President Joe Biden opted to back after announcing that he will not seek reelection after all, was viewed as the most liberal senator prior to her becoming vice president. According to GovTrack, the ideology analysis assigns a score to lawmakers according to their “legislative behavior by whether they sponsor and cosponsor overlapping sets of bills and resolutions with other Members of Congress.”

Well, folks, the RNC convention is over, and I must wholeheartedly congratulate the Republican party on one very distinct accomplishment...message discipline. The GOP has never been strong at staying on theme, developing a narrative and being consistent. This past week, we saw something different. However, you can come up with all the right plans and schemes, but you have to execute. The great advantage that the GOP has in this election cycle is a Democrat party that is portraying the Abbott and Costello “Who's on First” skit.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu landed in the United States on Monday, with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris both absent to greet him upon arrival. In a video that the Israeli Embassy to the U.S. posted, Netanyahu was seen walking down the steps of an airplane and shaking hands with several people waiting at the bottom. Biden’s absence comes as he tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday. The president’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, released a letter saying Biden had “completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID” and that his symptoms were “almost resolved completely.”

Morning Joe, or “Morning Joke” as I like to refer to it as, is a propaganda arm for the Democrat party. But then again, so is CNN, network news, and increasingly more often, Fox News. They are no longer even pretending to be apolitical or objective, like how the left still pretends that men can become pregnant. Morning Joe hit that mark this past week. (Photo) Morning Joe is hosted by former US Representative Joe Scarborough and his wife Mika Brzezinski, running for 4 hours every weekday morning. The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, but stubborn Biden fought against it every step of the way, a source close to the Biden family told The Post Monday. The insider also made clear the anger, paranoia and frustration Biden displayed as the party elite circled around him and piled on the pressure. In an obvious effort to protect impeached Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle pretended to testify Monday before the House Oversight Committee about the shooting of former President Donald Trump. Her obvious assignment was to stonewall, hide behind “ongoing investigations,” and simply refuse to answer questions she had the answers to. One question that was answered is a total bombshell. During her testimony, Cheatle admitted that sometimes radio communications between Secret Service details are recorded, but “we do not have radio communications” from the day of the assassination attempt.

Joe Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday afternoon. Everyone saw his post on X. In a follow-up message on X, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidential nomination, and Democrat leaders began lining up (with the notable exception of Barack Obama) to endorse her. The controversy over Biden’s dementia and ability to perform the duties of president appears to be over, although the nagging and quite large issue remains of whether he is able to perform the duties of president for the next seven months. And yet almost immediately, questions about the way Biden withdrew began to swirl,

The New York Times (NYT) editorial board wants Vice President Kamala Harris off the 2024 ticket because of “profound concerns” about her electability. The push to dump the nation’s first black vice president was posted just after President Joe Biden announced he would not run in the 2024 election — and it could threaten Democratic turnout in November. The board first provided some throat-clearing praise for Biden: By agreeing to step down when his term ends in January, he is greatly increasing the chance that his party is able to protect the nation from the dangers of returning Donald Trump to the presidency.

Joe Biden has already declined due to "health reasons," which probably don't include cooling down to room temperature, although to be honest, as I write this, nobody is certain about that. For some Republicans, the president’s decision not to seek a second term isn’t enough: They want him to resign, too. That’s tough to take seriously. When President Joe Biden announced that he was ending his re-election bid, he specifically referenced his eagerness to do the job he was elected to do for the next six months. “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” the Democratic incumbent said in a written statement.
