When it comes to the COVID-19 hysteria, it appears most people have moved on. But others can’t seem to let the pandemic go. Washington Post media activist Taylor Lorenz is one of the latter. Since it became clear that the coronavirus was no longer a threat, she has been insisting that the rest of the nation should still go through mask and vaccine mandates and take precautions to keep people like her safe. Former President Donald Trump has petitioned the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to have Special Counsel Jack Smith’s federal indictment claiming he conspired to overturn the 2020 election tossed out on Constitutional grounds.
Attorney John D. Sauer argued in a 55-page briefing to the court that, as president, Trump’s actions were protected under our governmental system.
“Under our system of separated powers, the judicial branch cannot sit in judgment over a president’s official acts,” Sauer wrote, according to the Daily Mail. “That doctrine is not controversial.”
The lengths to which Democrats will go to toe the progressive line never ceases to amaze. Things like tradition and normalcy are not only cast aside but are treated as if they never existed in the first place. In the wake of the Colorado Supreme Court’s outrageous ruling that bars Donald Trump from the ballot in that state, many Republicans have urged that states controlled by the GOP do the same thing to Joe Biden. My point here is not to endorse that strategy–partisan majorities banning their political opponents from participating in elections is obviously not a good thing–but rather to note that, if Republican-leaning courts in some states are so inclined, there is a rather clear legal path to barring Joe Biden.

It seems clear to me that Jack Smith was appointed for the purpose of besetting Donald J. Trump and finding a means to keep him from running for president again. If I’m right, Smith's many strategies have come to naught this week and it is extremely unlikely that the cases he instituted in the District of Columbia and Florida (meritless as I think they are) will ever be resolved before the election. snip)You can see that the March 4 plan for a trial is not in the works. However, in the “credit where credit is due” department, Blinken deserves props for saying something important: Namely, that a world that insistently demands that Israel surrender in this war does not make any such demands on Hamas.

Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom criticized a proposal to kick former President Donald Trump off the ballot in California days after the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that the former president could not be on the ballot in the Centennial State.

Kennedy’s campaign confirmed Friday the credibility of the letter which allegedly showed Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had signed off on rejecting Kennedy’s request, according to the outlet.

(snip) "For as long as I can remember, Louisiana reflexively responded to an increase in crime by putting more people in prison and keeping them there longer," Edwards told Louisiana news outlet NOLA.com this week. "We've never been made safer as a result of that," Edwards said. "There is no data to suggest that an increase in crime here was because of the reforms."
Others released by Edwards include inmates convicted of arson, robbery, and drug dealing, according to a complete list compiled by local outlet Fox 8.
