New York Times columnist and pollster Kristen Soltis Anderson is saying that Donald Trump is now seen as the ‘return to normalcy’ candidate.
This is a shocking turn of events for anyone who has been following political news for the last several years. When Trump won in 2016, liberals all over the country started saying “this is not normal.” It became a common talking point.
Then in 2020, Democrats claimed that Biden would be the ‘return to normalcy’ candidate. Everyone can see how that worked out.

Presidential hopeful Nikki Haley has been slammed for refusing to say that slavery was the main cause of the Civil War.
Haley, the 51-year-old former governor for South Carolina, blundered her way through the question at town hall debate in Berlin, New Hampshire, on Wednesday night.
The former UN representative jokingly told the audience member 'well, don't come with an easy question', before claiming that the Civil War was fought for freedom and ideological differences in how governments ought to work.

President Joe Biden is deporting about 74 percent fewer criminal illegal aliens from the United States compared to when former President Donald Trump was in office, new analysis shows.
Jon Feere, Director of Investigations at the Center for Immigration Studies and a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official in the Trump administration, conducted analysis comparing Biden’s first full fiscal year as president and Trump’s.
According to Feere, ICE data from Fiscal Year 2018 and Fiscal Year 2022 show a stark contrast between the two administrations — mainly, “the Biden administration has gutted immigration enforcement across the board

The $3 million luxury home the Biden family are staying in for their St. Croix vacation is available to the general public for rent and the owners are using the president's name to advertise the villa on Air B&B.
The owners of the private ocean-side Two Palms Villa have listed it on the vacation rental site for $700 a night, bragging that it has 'hosted President Biden on his many trips to St. Croix and is ready to cater to your vacation dreams, too.'
While federal ethics regulations prohibit federal employees from using their office to endorse 'any product, service or enterprise,' it is highly unlikely the president is aware his name

Capitol restaurateurs are lamenting exorbitant costs for security as others are forced to close due to soaring crime: “It’s like the Wild West.”
With only days remaining in 2023, the year continued a trend of losing businesses as owners sought safer climates beyond the borders of the metropolitan area of Washington, D.C.. Tuesday, the DCist/WAMU reported that restaurant closures had surpassed the 48 in 2022 at 52 and, along with inflation, blue state crime was a leading factor.
In early December, restaurateur Bo Blair spoke with Axios about the exorbitant

Electric Vehicles (EVs) are “piling up on dealer lots” as American consumers continue buying traditional gas-powered cars at faster rates, the Wall Street Journal reports.
According to the Journal, despite major investments from the federal government and automakers into EVs, Americans are not warming to President Joe Biden’s green energy agenda the way the administration and the industry had predicted. The Journal reports:
As a result, electric cars and trucks are piling up on dealer lots, causing auto companies to reassess their investment plans. It takes a dealership around three weeks longer to sell an EV than a gasoline vehicle,

In a piece of sad news for gun owners, shooters, Second Amendment advocates, and concealed-carry folks, we note on Wednesday the passing of Gaston Glock, who broke considerable new ground in the design of semi-auto handguns. His guns were something new; polymer-framed, striker-fired, tough, reliable, and aimed directly at the police and military markets, although they gained a big following among recreational shooters and carry advocates. And, as one might expect, a lot of misconceptions grew up around Mr. Glock's creations as well.

Special Counsel Jack Smith wants to prevent President Trump from blaming provocateurs and undercover agents for the January 6 Capitol riot.
“Through public statements, filings and argument in hearings before the court, the defense has attempted to inject into this case partisan political attacks and irrelevant and prejudicial issues that have no place in a jury trial,” Jack Smith’s 20-page filing said.
“Although the court can recognize these efforts for what they are and disregard them, the jury — if subjected to them — may not. The court should not permit the defendant to turn the courtroom into a forum in which he propagates irrelevant disinformation,

Melania Trump wasn't in family Christmas images posted to social media because she was taking care of her sick mother.
Amalija Knavs, 78, is sick in the hospital, according to multiple reports – and the former first lady has been by her mother's side instead of at Mar-a-Lago celebrating the holidays with her family.
Donald Trump Jr.'s finacé Kimberly Guilfoyle posted a family photo to her Instagram story the day after Christmas including several members of the Trump family. Immediately of notice was Melania's absence from the image.
'Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family,' a source close to the former first lady told Fox News Digital.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote a demand letter to White House Counsel Edward Siskel to investigate whether President Joe Biden engaged “in a conspiracy to obstruct a proceeding of Congress” with Hunter Biden, Breitbart News learned Wednesday.
Hunter defied a congressional subpoena to testify behind closed doors during a December 13 press conference.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Joe Biden was “certainly familiar with what his son was going to say” at the press conference.
