I wrote this column ten years ago during a busy and stressful time in my life. I post it here again because I know that Christmas can be difficult for many. Perhaps you've lost a loved one, received a devastating diagnosis, or have unresolved family problems that threaten to erupt. And then there's the news — "wars and rumors of wars," our dysfunctional government, rampant crime, and even genocide in Israel. Whatever difficulties you're facing, whatever pain you're going through—at a time when everyone seems to be joyful and smiling — I pray that you will find hope in God's word and a classic Christmas hymn,

Comments:

We've all had Christmases like this. Let go and let God. Peace on Earth.

Ahead of a new California law set to take effect in April, which raises wages to $20 per hour, 1,200 Pizza Hut delivery drivers are being laid off. “PacPizza, LLC, operating as Pizza Hut, has made a business decision to eliminate first-party delivery services and, as a result, the elimination of all delivery driver positions,” read a federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice, Business Insider reports. The Act requires employers give a 60 day notice before mass layoffs, according to KTLA. Another WARN Act notice indicates a second Pizza Hut franchisee, Southern California Pizza Co., has made the same decision, which will affect 841 drivers.

Since the pandemic is over, the horror stories from the COVID vaccine have dissipated. We also have Joe Biden serving as a serially incompetent president, his son’s rampant influence-peddling schemes, a lagging economy, inflation, and wars breaking out. We also had one of the worst wildfires in American history tear through Hawaii. The Biden presidency has been nothing but a factory of bad news, not least the possibility that he could win a second term. We’re still seeing the damage done by the vaccine mandates, like this New York City firefighter who was forced to retire after reportedly suffering severe side effects from the vaccine.

Special Counsel Jack Smith has been making plenty of requests in his case against former and potentially future President Donald Trump when it comes to his actions on and leading up to January 6, 2021. This time, Smith is asking the district court to restrict what Trump's legal team can tell a jury in the March 4 trial. Fox News highlighted key parts of the motion, with the 20-page motion also being included in the report: That includes a request to prevent Trump from telling the jury he is being prosecuted by the DOJ in coordination with President Biden,
The Anniversary We Missed on Christmas Day 2 replies

As the world celebrated Christmas — giving and receiving gifts, overeating, and contemplating the birth of Jesus — we missed an important historical anniversary. It's easy to see why we would miss the historical events that took place on Christmas Day since it's a holy day for Christians and a special day even for many who don't believe in Jesus, but one important event that's worth revisiting took place 32 years ago. On Dec. 25, 1991, the Soviet Union ceased to exist. That evening, Mikhail Gorbachev resigned as president of the USSR, made a phone call to tell U.S. President George H.W. Bush goodbye, and delivered a speech to his nation.

At Christmastime, Christians all over the globe reflect on who Jesus is to them, while we also see some examination of who Jesus was historically. Leftists love to take that historical examination of Jesus and overlay a leftwing narrative onto His life. Advertisement "Jesus was a refugee," the left says when it wants to tie Jesus to illegal immigration. "Jesus didn't specifically mention homosexuality" is the cry when it comes to pushing the LGBTQ (and sometimes Y) agenda. Leftists love to label Jesus a social justice warrior, a revolutionary, and a mystic, none of which is true. Since Israel has dominated the news cycle after the Hamas attack on October 7,

Because it spotlights the current state of affairs in the West — and all the key players — the recent uprising in Dublin should not be so quickly forgotten. Background: On Nov. 23, 2023, a Muslim man of Algerian origin, with a known criminal record, knifed a group of preschool children attending Saint Mary’s, a Catholic school in Dublin. Three children — two girls and a boy aged between 5 and 6 — and a care assistant who tried to defend them were stabbed in the assault. Knifed near the heart, a 5-year-old girl was critically injured and, as of the last report from December,

A man who appears to be a Delta Airlines employee went viral this week on social media after he stood up to an alleged transgender activist who was upset that the man did not use his preferred pronouns. It appears that the video was taken late last week potentially at New York-LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) given that “LGA” appears on the employee’s jacket. The purported transgender individual in the video, who appears to be the person holding the camera, complains that he was “misgendered” because the airline employee called him a “he.” “It wasn’t intentional, but if you want to take it personal, that’s also okay,” the employee responded.

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said that dealing with angry rural Americans is similar to combating terrorism on “Morning Joe” Tuesday. Matthews highlighted the importance of anger in mobilizing voters during elections as he drew the analogy. He said rural Americans harbor a deep-seated anger toward liberal elites and then seemed to liken it to the sentiments of terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq following the U.S. military presence there. “This is rural rage. They are so angry at the liberal establishment, the coastal elite, they look at people on television … ‘They don’t have to worry about us,’” Matthews stated.

Israel has seized 30,000 explosives in the Gaza Strip since Hamas launched a war on October 7, a spokesman for the Israeli government confirmed on Tuesday. Eylon Levy told reporters during a briefing that while there was no deadline for eliminating Hamas’s rocket-launching capacity, Israel sought to achieve that goal. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari had mentioned the figure of 30,000 on Saturday, and Levy confirmed that the figure included rockets found ready for firing at Israeli cities. Separately, the IDF reported Tuesday that it had found a cache of weapons in a children’s bedroom in a civilian home in Gaza:

Harvard's embattled president is facing yet further questions about her academic record, after a statistics expert challenged the data used in a report which helped win her tenure at Stanford. Claudine Gay, who took over as president in July, has been at the center of a firestorm since the October 7 Hamas attacks. The harsh spotlight has spread to her academic record, with accusations of plagiarism - and on Tuesday, a data scientist challenged her analytical methods. It was then revealed that she had refused to share her data,

Michelle grew up as the daughter of a Chicago Democrat party precinct captain. She has written about making the rounds with her father from age 4, visiting homes in her area to get out the black vote for the white liberal Chicago Democrat party machine.
