A woman who was pumped with testosterone and underwent hormone therapy when she was a young teenager is suing both her doctors and the American Academy of Pediatrics, which her lawyers say has knowingly lied about the impact of the radical sex-change treatments it recommends, (snip) Isabelle Ayala, now a twenty-year-old woman, had just turned fourteen when she was committed to the hospital for suicidal thoughts, according to the lawsuit. (snip) The lawsuit not only goes after the doctors who treated Ayala, but also the American Academy of Pediatrics, where Rafferty and his colleagues worked to publish a now-infamous policy statement advocating for aggressive gender treatments for children.

This may be the best way to stop this trans insanity and the greedy doctors getting rich from it. I am no fan of ambulance-chasing lawyers but a thousand lawsuit like this will put those doctors out of business. The malpractice insurance companies will start excluding gender-affirming “care” from coverage.

What possible reason can medical people have to so aggressively promote transgenderism? It serves no curative purpose and it makes mental problems worse. The only reason I can think of (forget "to help people") is that it's just plain evil. You don't help people with mental problems by exacerbating the problems. (I don't know why I'm even asking for reasons when we all know that reason has nothing to do with this trans evil.)

These treatments were given with no idea whatsoever what the long term consequences would be either physically, mentally, or emotionally. They still don’t know the full horror of it. Doctors swear an oath to do no harm. That was until the money making opportunities took priority. As these young people age, if they’re fortunate enough, the law suits will overcome court calendars, including class action suits. The doctors will go bankrupt and the lawyers will become rich. What will happen to the victims?

What this looks like (the policy statement) is the genesis of the whole industry being pushed by "experts". We now all have seen what can be done when you're following "experts" and Progressive Democrats love to use experts to provide gravitas to their cause. You can just see how the entire Education establishment has bought-in to this policy, and uses it for their justification for their agenda items.

(snip) Bowman got a plea deal: Write a letter of apology to the U.S. Capitol Police and pay a $1,000 fine. D.C. Superior Court Judge Dorsey Jones told Bowman that he could face six months in prison and a $1,000 fine if he does not write the letter of apology. Bowman's office told Fox News Digital that the congressman's deal with the D.C. attorney general would see the charges withdrawn if he writes the letter and pays the fine.

At last, Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives successfully elected the 56th Speaker of the House on Wednesday afternoon following multiple rounds of unsuccessful ballots and withdrawn nominations, selecting Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana to lead the lower chamber. The final roll-call vote saw Johnson land 220 votes while Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) received 209. Needing only a simple majority, Johnson easily secured his victory as previous opposition to House Republicans' speaker-designees vanished entirely on the first ballot of Johnson's bid.

House Republicans were jubilant when they coalesced around a new speaker nominee after a day of marathon-closed door meetings on Tuesday. (snip) A subsequent roll call vote where members were called upon by name to say whether they would support Johnson on the floor saw no one vote against him, and just a few lawmakers voting "present." Rep. John Rutherford, R-Fla., who opposed House Republicans' second speaker-designate, Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said "I don't think so" when asked if the absences will pose a problem for Johnson.

The day after Hamas’ onslaught against Israel, Pope Francis intoned: “Every war is a defeat.” A preemptive protest against retaliation, it contradicted centuries of the Catholic Church’s understanding of a just response to aggression. The ancient command to will good to all men does not mean leaving some of them loose to do evil to others. Careful not to name Hamas, Francis begged that “the armed attacks stop.” His use of the plural “attacks” placed terrorists and Israelis on the same moral plane. It avoided distinction between a war of extermination against Jews and Israel’s defensive action against genocidal barbarians. Francis broadened lament to conflicts everywhere (especially in “beloved Ukraine”),

The embarrassing impasse in the House of Representatives has finally ended, as Louisiana’s Mike Johnson has been elected Speaker. So, who is Mike Johnson, and why was he finally able to succeed where several more notable House members failed? I suspect that the answer has more to do with desperation than anything else. The Republican Party was made to look ridiculous, not so much by the party’s divisions as by the utter lack of party loyalty and discipline that was revealed by one failed vote after another. Most likely, Republicans coalesced behind Johnson–a little-known commodity, who has never been a committee chairman–to stop the bleeding.
