Before Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson officially became Speaker of the House on Wednesday, there was the seven-person pre-game panel on CNN’s Inside Politics. One of those panelists, senior political analyst Gloria Borger, was forced to concede that despite being “hugely conservative,” Johnson is “not the devil incarnate.”
Borger’s remarks as she recalled Reps. Jim Jordan and Tom Emmer’s failed bids, “I think he is a person who’s hard to demonize. You know, it's very easy to demonize somebody like a Jim Jordan, who’s a fire brand. He's out there and fighting and then Donald Trump can demonize an [Tom] Emmer because he didn't believe the election was rigged.”

Gloria Borger's description of Newt as a 'frisky chipmunk' seems right on the money!

That was too easy. He supports the war in Ukraine so of course he got the votes from the RINOS.

I am always surprised by the manner in which God answers prayer. He sticks His toe in our troubled waters and everything changes! He has honorable, God-fearing children everywhere quietly laboring to do the right thing, strategically placed, who will answer to His voice when called upon to act. The new Speaker is a constitutional attorney and appears to be a Christ-follower. He also appears to be trusted by his colleagues and trustworthy. His eyes are open and hopefully he sees the depth of the danger ahead for our republic. But he is still a fallible human being. He and other like-minded Congressional reps will need the wisdom, guidance and strength of God to persevere and succeed.
Many folks are taking credit today. But, those of us who watch and pray know it was the hand of God. It's not over. Let's continue to pray that the Speaker will be led by God, remain uncorrupted and unbought, keep his sight, aim and focus clear, purposeful, and determined to do the right thing for the American people. There can be no compromise with evil. For truly, we are tired of being lied to, cheated and stolen from by the people we trust to represent us who sadly end up representing only themselves.

So the Bible-burning atheists and secular humanists at CNN debated whether a conservative Christian was demonic? Wow.

As long as our culture remains the rot that it is, we will have difficulty finding good people we can get behind. Face it, we have allowed the demons among us to kick God (so they think) out of our culture, and He's acquiesced. Never a good thing. This nation (and the world) is in the crisis that it's in because we have forsaken God, the One Who gave us this country. No, we had to have our way instead, and look at the crap mess we've made. Shame on US!

#4-reports I heard yesterday is that he's not a fan of aid to Ukraine (or their agent, The Big Guy), so that is one hurdle the Swamp is going to have to navigate. He's better than Mrs. Luntz (a/k/a: Kevin Boy) right off the bat.

Yeah but... Whoever inherited the Speaker position is going to become the devil whether he has horns now or not. If the democrats can turn the greatest US President in history into the greatest villain ever while Joe Biden steals money from under their noses on a monthly basis, Johnson will soon become the Evil One.

It's not quite as simplistic as that, #4 & #5. Like many conservatives, Christian or otherwise, he supports Ukraine in its effort to fight Russia. Early on he even voted for the Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022 that made it easier to send them aid. But - again like many conservatives - his position evolved into skepticism as over $100 billion of our taxpayer dollars disappeared down an aid hole with little to no transparency. Consequently, he voted against two subsequent aid bills. One just last month.
In claiming "milquetoast" isn't quite the right word for Johnson, CNN's Gloria Borger instead labels him a "serious person" and a "listener". Which reveals the reason CNN doesn't see him as the devil incarnate: they think he's a pink hat as well as milquetoast who won't get in their way.

This is technically deniable name calling. This like saying CNN reporters aren’t partisan propagandists posing as journalists.

CNN is admitting publicly that they don’t have a strategy yet for how to demonize Johnson. They’re describing him as a ‘milquetoast’ and a pushover. Once he starts leading I think they will be livid. Johnson has a very conservative agenda. He’ll just be quiet about it.

Mike Johnson is an answer to prayer that we've been praying at our house. "Lord, raise up the righteous and put down the wicked!" Rep. Mike Johnson is a good, righteous man that is a godsend.
Now if the Lord would bring down the whole wicked Adm. of Biden, that would be a total miracle! Some miracles take longer.

After weeks of 'the stupid party does it again' news, maybe Gaetz really knew what he was doing. We needed to do something about deal-breaker McCarthy.

All Glory to God for working through a small (!) band of not phony conservatives who FINALLY said no, no more rushing under establishment pressure to keep corruption in our Speaker chair. Without the Hand of Almighty God, we could not have gotten a Mike Johnson anywhere near the seat of power in today’s House GOP structure.
Thanks to Matt Gaetz whose courage in publicly holding Kevin (and his colleagues) to their word about the vacate promise helped get us here. He just kept fighting despite filthy smears and threats.
