Today is supposed to be I-Day — indictment day — in New York City. For the 7th consecutive year, the loony left is predicting the imminent indictment and arrest of President Trump. The walls are closing in! Comey-Mueller-NYC DA have him right where they want him. He will be frog-marched and perp-walked.

The charge is he paid off Stormy Daniels, a hooker — or as the media now calls them, an adult entertainment actress — who claimed she had sex with him. The case has bounced around in civil court where a judge ruled that her lawsuit was so frivolous that the whore would have to pay him!

A Texas mother who is a self-described former “woke” liberal got some sense knocked into her and decided that the woke mob wasn’t so fool-proof after all. Laura Maria Gruber said she recently removed her 13-year-old from a San Antonio school after finding out the child had been asked to play the role of a “seducing hooker” in her middle-school class.
Honestly, based on the standards the public school system is setting these days, this news is far from surprising.
The game was called “Bear-Hooker-Hunter,” according to Daily Mail, and is essentially an adult version of rock-paper-scissors. The young teens were reportedly told to strike poses

As head of PAWS Atlanta, Joe Labriola can get a good sense of the region’s economic well-being from the day-to-day activity of the city’s oldest no-kill animal shelter.
Through the course of the past year, it’s become increasingly clear to him that people in the area are struggling under the weight of inflation and economic uncertainty. Practically the entirety of the daily call volume consists of requests to rehome pets. The shelter’s “surrender queue” is full, awaiting adoptions to free up space in the main shelter. And the shelves at PAWS Atlanta’s Pet Food Pantry quickly go bare.
But perhaps the most heartbreaking indicator is something this particular shelter never

A federal judge on Monday blocked enforcement of a decades-old California law that requires newly developed handguns to have particular safety features, ruling the regulation overly stringent and a violation of the Second Amendment.
California’s Unsafe Handgun Act, enacted in 2001, aims to prevent accidental discharges through various safety standards. The legislation mandates that certain handguns have a chamber-load indicator and a magazine-disconnect mechanism that prevents a handgun from being fired if the magazine is not fully inserted. To assist with gun-crime investigations, the firearms also must have a microstamping mechanism, which allows the transfer of microscopic imprints of the handgun’s make, model, and serial number onto shell casings

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is demanding answers from a New York district attorney reportedly planning to arrest former President Donald Trump on March 21.
The district attorney in question, Alvin Bragg of Manhattan, is reportedly planning to arrest the former president over an alleged “hush money” payment during the 2016 election. Trump is accused of furnishing money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to hide allegations of an affair between the two, which Trump denies having.

In his letter to Bragg (pdf), Jordan—joined by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-Wis.)—called the impending arrest “an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority.”

The decision whether to indict former President Donald Trump over hush-money payments made on his behalf during his 2016 presidential campaign lies in the hands of a Manhattan grand jury that has been hearing evidence in secret for weeks.
An indictment of Trump, who is seeking the White House again in 2024, would be an unprecedented moment in American history, the first criminal case against a former U.S. president.
Law enforcement officials are bracing for protests and the possibility of violence after Trump called on his supporters to protest ahead of a possible indictment.
An indictment could also test a Republican Party already divided over whether to support Trump next year,

As part of this investigation, Robert Costello, former legal advisor to Michael Cohen, testified before the grand jury.

Two no-confidence votes against French President Emmanuel Macron's government have failed in the country's parliament, clearing the way for his hugely unpopular pension reforms to be implemented and sparking new protests in Paris.
The government triggered special constitutional powers last Thursday to push through controversial legislation that would raise the age of retirement from 62 to 64 for most workers. Lawmakers critical of the move called the no-confidence votes that were held on Monday.
The first motion was brought forward by the small parliamentary group "LIOT," which represents various small parties, and was seen as the most likely of the two to threaten the government.

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden issued the first veto of his presidency Monday in an early sign of shifting White House relations with the new Congress since Republicans took control in January. He’s seeking to kill a Republican measure that bans the government from considering environmental impacts or potential lawsuits when making investment decisions for Americans’ retirement plans.
It’s just the latest manifestation of the new relationship, and Biden is gearing up for even bigger fights with Republicans on government spending and raising the nation’s debt limit in the next few months.

Donald Trump has characterized his impending arrest this week as a political vendetta, and has urged his supporters to take to the streets in protest.
I agree with him that it’s a political vendetta, but disagree about taking to the streets.
It is indeed a nakedly political act by the Manhattan District Attorney. Numerous other prosecutors including sophisticated federal prosecutors have reviewed this same evidence, and have declined to pursue this case.
Rightly so. It’s a lousy case. The legal theory is a stretch. Moreover, the prosecution’s fact witnesses are not credible.

President Joe Biden issued the first veto of his presidency on Monday – stopping a Republican-led bill that would overturn his administration's rule letting retirement account planners take 'environmental, social and governance,' referred to ESG factors into account.
Because climate change, social impacts and ongoing lawsuits have significant financial repercussions, administration officials argue that the investment limits are courting possible disaster.
Republicans in Congress who pushed to overturn the Labor Department's actions say ESG investments provide sizable funding to 'woke' political agendas, such as a drive against climate change, rather than on earning the best returns for savers.

When law is tossed out the window, is anybody surprised that chaos follows?
That's apparently what we have in the Manhattan district attorney's office, where Soros-financed District Attorney Alvin Bragg is reportedly presiding over a chaotic shambles in the wake of news that his men intend to indict President Trump on politicized charges. Banana republic politics, banana republic office, just like what you might find in places like Caracas or Managua. The root of it seems to be in Bragg's stated Trump-hate, which he openly campaigned on when he ran for office in Manhattan. That's actually illegal, but the matter was ignored by voters.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine cannot be equated with the US-led invasion of Iraq, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said Saturday, ahead of the 20th anniversary of the conflict that toppled Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
Blair said Moscow's forces had invaded "a country that has a democratically elected president who, to my knowledge, has never started a regional conflict or committed any aggression against its neighbors."

This week, Comer revealed the Biden family business received a $3 million wire transfer and subsequent payments from a Chinese energy company between 2015 and 2017 upon receiving Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) from the Treasury and subpoenaed records from Bank of America. Maybe they are so blinded by hatred that they can’t see that every time they use the heavy hand of the law against the former president, they just cement his status as MAGA martyr. “With the law books filled with a great assortment of crimes, a prosecutor stands a fair chance of finding at least a technical violation of some act on the part of almost anyone. In such a case, it is not a question of discovering the commission of a crime and then looking for who has committed it, it is a question of picking the man and then searching the law books, or putting investigators to work, to pin some offense on him. Few would dispute Leonardo da Vinci’s preeminence as one of the top thinkers and artists of the Renaissance era. According to an Italian professor, da Vinci may have been only half-Italian. The professor contends that da Vinci’s mother may have been a slave from the Circassia region in what is now Russia. That fact is worth contemplating when we think about the left’s desperation to do away with Christianity, fossil fuel, and capitalism.
(Snip) Whether this revised history is correct or not, it’s useful to remind all of us that slavery was not a uniquely American institution. It was ubiquitous in the pre-modern world. Every society, at every time

Raquel Evita Saraswati made a name for herself in a number of Philadelphia’s community and advocacy circles. The queer, Muslim woman held iftars during Ramadan, creating a space and providing mentorship for other queer Muslims in the community. She attended and helped organize protests, including a vigil in West Philadelphia after the mass shootings at Christchurch mosques in 2019, and a jummah prayer at City Hall after George Floyd’s murder. {Snip} And all of this was confirmed by Carol Perone, Saraswati’s biological mother, who told the Intercept, “I’m as white as the driven snow and so is she.”

The Biden administration’s bulletin board, also known as the Washington Post, featured an article last week headlined: “Biden takes heat for border measures, but illegal crossings are down.”
Various other news outlets echoed this theme, using terms such as “plunged” and “plummeted,” to describe what is, in fact, a record-high number of illegal crossings in both January and February.
How did the administration pull off this “plunge”?
Basically, by narrowing the focus and by redefining what counts as an illegal border crossing.

Three years ago tomorrow, on March 21, 2020, American Thinker published the first nationally-read critical article about Dr. Anthony Fauci (snip) The gist of the article was substantive (snip) On March 24, 2020, POLITICO was the first publication to pile on in “Anthony Fauci becomes a fringe MAGA target:” (snip) Two days later, the Washington Post published the first of four critical articles that referenced – and linked to – my AT blog. Also weighing in were the New York Times (two articles including one of them on page 1A), New York Magazine, Vanity Fair, Buzzfeed, and a large number of other left of center MSM outlets

Kim Jong Un 'guided' military exercises at the weekend which included firing a ballistic missile with a mock nuclear warhead - warning his country was ready to launch an 'immediate and overwhelming nuclear counterattack', as the United States and South Korea prepare to carry out their first amphibious landing exercises in five years.
The North Korean leader was accompanied by his nine-year-old daughter Kim Ju Ae during the missile tests - continuing a trend that has led to speculation the young girl is being lined up to inherit the hereditary hermit kingdom.
State media, KCNA, said on Monday that the missile launch and accompanying military exercises on Saturday and Sunday

If Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg actually indicts former President Donald Trump this week and prosecutes him in what will inevitably become a show trial, the Democrats will regret it. This is ironic considering their absurd yet oft-repeated comparison of Trump to Adolf Hitler. If these people knew anything about the latter’s rise to power, they would realize that it was just such a trial that launched his genocidal political career in Germany. Trump is no aspiring autocrat, but a politicized prosecution and biased coverage by the corporate media will certainly energize his base.

A coalition of midsize banks sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (the FDIC), the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Federal Reserve requesting that the FDIC insure all their deposits for the next two years, according to Bloomberg.
The request comes amidst a banking crisis that started earlier this month with the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and then Signature Bank. The group wrote:
“Doing so [insuring all deposits] will immediately halt the exodus of deposits from smaller banks, stabilize the banking sector and greatly reduce chances of more bank failures,”

Last week, we learned that the Manhattan district attorney’s office was preparing to indict former President Donald Trump as early as next week. On Saturday, Trump responded to those reports, saying his potential arrest would occur on Tuesday. He also called for protests over the blatant abuse of the justice system that has been targeting him for years. Then, on Sunday, the potential indictment and arrest was put on hold, reportedly over a new surprise witness, though it was unclear whom that witness would be… until now. Trump posted on Truth Social that “the most important witness” will testify before the grand jury on Monday. According to Trump, the surprise

Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen ran to MSNBC on Saturday and trashed Trump in an interview with professional race hustler Al Sharpton.
In January the Manhattan District Attorney’s office revived its criminal investigation into Trump’s ‘hush payments’ to porn star Stephanie Clifford, AKA, Stormy Daniels and elevated the case from a misdemeanor to a felony.
Trump has been accused of paying Daniels ‘hush payments’ through his then-attorney Michael Cohen in a scheme to silence her and stop the story about their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer.

Harvard Law School professor emeritus and noted civil libertarian Alan Dershowitz has panned the potential prosecution of former President Donald Trump, saying he is the victim of “targeted injustice” by Democrats.
Trump announced Saturday that he expected to be arrested by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (Snip) In an essay for the New York Sun, Dershowitz described the looming decision to indict and prosecute Trump as “targeted injustice,” given that other politicians are not prosecuted for doing substantially the same thing:

This was not the headline I expected to be writing on a Sunday in March, yet here we are. Polling in the 2024 GOP primary is still extremely premature, but a couple of trends have been emerging. At least until we get some other major names into the mix (assuming there are any on the way) the early competition is between former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. But Trump has been holding a clear lead over the course of several consecutive polls now. At CNN this weekend, Harry Enten breaks down the two latest and comes up with a surprising (at least to me)

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is essentially using the same legal theory to potentially indict former President Donald Trump that Hillary Clinton’s campaign was fined for, argued former United States Attorney Brett Tolman.
Tolman asserted Saturday that Bragg’s legal theory that Trump tried to hide a campaign expenditure by using his then-lawyer to pay porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 in alleged hush money before the 2016 presidential elections would have applied to Clinton when her campaign hid a payment for the phony Russian pee dossier against Trump as “legal fees.”
