Last week, when Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger publicly supported ERIC after it was tossed out of Florida, West Virginia, and Missouri, we issued the Raffensperger Challenge.
The Raffensperger Challenge is the application of Fractal analysis to any entity that currently uses ERIC.
This week, we finished the first, in Washoe County, Nevada.
Brad Raffensperger says anyone outing ERIC is "extremist."
Today, two more extremists joined in: the secretaries of state of Iowa and Ohio. Looks like lots of extremists showing up for work.
Is there anyone in politics who believes that elected officials in the two most benign states of Iowa and Ohio are extremist?

The article is not easy to follow--a good edit would have helped--but the information and bottom line message is enlightening and encouraging.
The author is very knowledgeable and his work can definitely help make voting fair again.

Don't want to make light of what this guy has accomplished but embarrassing ratsinberger with facts ain't gonna do anything. ratsinberger and kemp are utterly compromised. Hours of video of corrupt vote counting in Cobb County alone did nothing to make these two be honest, but good luck and hope you guys at least make a record of the corruption. Thanks.

Very good article. I didn't know what ERIC was or even that it existed. This is very important.

That's for sure, #1! I'll admit my ignorance in now knowing who/what ERIC is, so it would have been very helpful to include that in the opening paragraph.
Is "who-what-when-where-why-how" taught in journalism schools anymore?

Wow! I worked for Dirty Brad. He's completely in the tank for the slick politicians who manipulate his mediocre intellectual abilities to their advantage. He's an engineer by trade (with the personality of a slow turtle) and is completely in over his head in the political realm. He's the weak link in the government of the state of Georgia.

I’m afraid this article really misses the boat. Valentine assumes that ballots are mailed to whatever residence address you submitted (with registrar or DMV) when applying to register. Fact is that voter registration applications (federal, state and county) all ask for a MAILING ADDRESS as well as a residence. The ones I’ve seen will even permit you to submit a map with your residence spot marked on it if you don’t have a street address (assumption here being that rural people don’t necessarily have a street address).
Similar ignorance pertains with respect to the “anomalies” cited. LOTS of people live in hotels. Also RV parks. Even vacant lots and even parking lots (lot might have been vacant last time assessor made a record, there might even be a house there now, doesn’t mean someone didn’t park their RV or car there last night). So, the examples cited just don’t mean anything without further examination (or even just asking the registrar and/or assessor about it). Can’t see Valentine, et al did that homework.
In Reno, close to a thousand people all “live” at one address: our emergency shelter. They can even get their mail there now. Don’t they get to vote?
Valentine claims to have better technology than ERIC and he may be right. Appears to me that ERIC is pretty specific and pretty limited in what it looks for (and why). What counts is what the registrar of voters is doing to make sure voter roles are clean, which in Washoe County is quite a bit.
Finally, his article fails to consider that various states may have restrictions on how quickly inactives can be removed from the rolls. That’s why the numbers go down periodically as the number of missed elections is reached (and not because crooked registrars are “hiding” them. Are any “cancelled” being mailed ballots?
Valentine’s article as it stands is paranoia. Don’t fall for it.

I see there are a number of people who did not know about ERIC. It by no means "cleans" voter roles; it looks for a limited set of specific situations and informs the state registrars who take whatever action is appropriate. Full discussion of ERIC here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Registration_Information_Center#References and this includes who/how it was created and financed (hint: it wasn't Soros). It is up to each member state to decide if the money they spend on it is worth what they get back from it. Sounds like four or five don't think the juice is worth the squeeze ...

Read More about ERIC here: Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) was formed as a membership organization primarily for blue States. ERIC is essentially a left wing voter registration drive disguised as voter roll clean up. But it’s been gaining traction in Red States too. Originally funded by the Soros Open Society, it is now responsible for cleaning the voter rolls in 31 States, plus D.C. A top election official from each member State is appointed a seat on the ERIC Board or as an Officer, all unpaid positions. ERIC located 17 million new voters for the 2020 election, the most in the history of their organization.

States created ERIC to improve the accuracy of state voter registration rolls and boost access to voter registration for all American citizens. Of the ~26 million unregistered although eligible citizens discovered by ERIC, some 15% or so have proceeded to register. It has also found and reported dual registrations within and between states and dead voters still on the rolls. It was established by both blue and red states and continues to be funded by both. It is by no means a left wing voter registration drive.

Actually, ERIC has a web site which the poster who mentioned their 2017 report should have checked before implying they are hiding information. The website provides up date answers to frequently asked questions here:
https://ericstates.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/ERIC_FAQS_V1.3_01-20-2023.pdf
Ongoing statistics are here:
https://ericstates.org/statistics/
When it was first formed the red states outnumbered the blue states; now they are about even.
Letter from its director decrying misinformation about ERIC is here:
https://ericstates.org/an-open-letter-2023-03/
Don't succumb to paranoia based on ignorance!
