Former President Donald Trump's closest supporters are raging against his likely 2024 rival, Ron DeSantis, after the Florida governor broke his silence to deliver what they believed to be milquetoast remarks ahead of Trump's likely indictment by the Manhattan District Attorney's Office later this week. Speaking at a news conference Monday, DeSantis stressed he had yet to hear any facts about Trump's potential arrest over his role in a scheme to pay off former sexual partners for their silence in the heat of the 2016 election cycle—an alleged violation of New York campaign finance laws.
He then accused the prosecutor, Alvin Bragg, of being backed by liberal megadonor

Oddly, Newsweek left out Trump's Truth response. Rolling Stone went there but so far it's a little too sleazy for the big players.

Gotta love the WWE rhetoric being used. I just got a Trump text saying his arrest was imminent, encouraging me to stand tall against the left, and to send money. This has all the makings of another master 3D-chess bit of falderol. And when he's not arrested...well, the lefties and Soros Dems all got scared off by the MAGA crowd banding together. Until next time. Rage on. I've got plenty of popcorn.

My initial reaction to Desantis’ words were that he was shrinking the whole matter to the stature it deserves: a tempest in a teapot for nonentities to lick spittle about.

Now I wonder why Gov. "DeSanctimonious" would throw shade at DJT.

As near as I can tell, if Karl Rove thinks you're "it," you're not. And vice versa.

I listened to what DeSantis said, and there's literally nothing wrong with what he said. This really seems to be the media trying to stir up a controversy where there is none.

Trump supporters ‘raging’ over DeSantis’s remarks need to pause and consider the truth. What he said is true. There will be more than one person running for the nomination whether DeSantis jumps in or not. They’re all going to swipe at each other. That’s politics..

Up until this statement from the governor, I was still open to him as a presidential contender. His comments were as low class and trashy as what the President is accused of. I believe DeSantis played this very badly and he will pay the price for it. If this is who you are, politics 101 demands that you keep a lid on your true self until you get elected. Whatever DeSantis’ good qualities my be, he is no Trump and will not be able to get away with boorishness.

We are so screwed. Trump is great. I voted for him twice. I defended him tooth and nail.......however.........now some of you are being led by the nostril by Newsweek and the left. You are funny to watch. DeSantis said Bragg was an idiot, was abusing his power, that Soros was behind this, and said this is a non event that will go away and he will focus on his job.
Wow. Now I have to watch you nunbskulls doing Soros's job for him.

Some friend Gov.DeSantis you are. Acting so holy about not knowing what blackmail is all about, ha! Excuse me! And then covering it up your dig on Trump by going after the NY DA. Your true feelings and character were revealed by your public announcement.

DeSantis needs to understand that is blasphemy to not grovel at the feet of the Republican messiah. No matter how good you are, you will be vilified and brought low for not singing the proper hosanahs to the mighty glorious Trump. Dissent will not be tolerated.
I'm pretty sure I've seen this movie several times. They never ended well.

Well, if Junior is correct that DeSantis is owned by Karl Rove and controlled opposition then why would he care what he says or if he shows support for his Daddy?

#8~ Governor DeSantis’ remark about President Trump having paid off a porn star to keep her mouth shut is not true. In a 2017 Facebook exchange with another individual, Stormy Daniels denied having sex with President Trump; she wrote she had a business conversation with him and she could have made a lot more money than “what was being talked about.”
#10~ Accusing MAGA supporters of “being led by the nostril by Newsweek and the left” as well as MAGA supporters being “numbskulls doing Soros’s job for him” are inaccurate perceptions of MAGA supporters who are disappointed in a man they thought worthy of becoming an eventual president of this country now seemingly having become aligned with well-know political consultants and families for the purpose of preventing President Trump from winning the presidency in 2024. The MAGA reactions are not based on singular remarks as is the specific subject of this news article but the collectiveness of remarks, actions or inactions over past months. MAGA supporters are not influenced by media sensationalism but are influenced by their own research and cognitive thinking.
#12~ “blasphemy to not grovel at the feet of the Republican messiah ... dissent will not be tolerated.” A very sad, tragic, insulting, disrespectful, dishonest assessment aimed at President Trump and MAGA supporters.

Oh stop the pitting of Donald Trump against Ron DeSantis. It is the liberal's way not the conservative. A comment was made here that it is politics and they are all going to swipe at each other. It takes a very mature, effective leader to not swipe at each other.

#15, I did not say MAGA supporters are numbskulls, just fanatical Trump supporters who allow Newsweek to lead them around by the nostril. If you look again at what DeSantis said you will see that you reacted and synergized with what Newsweek implied. You are doing the same thing to DeSantis that the left did to Trump for the last 6 years. You are sensationalizing things that did not happen.

#17~ “#15, I did not say MAGA supporters are numbskulls, just fanatical Trump supporters who allow Newsweek to lead them around by the nostril.” / With all due respect, that distinction between MAGA supporters and Newsweek “MAGA numbskulls” influence was not clear in Post #10.
