President Joe Biden said he was feeling great and had got through COVID with only mild discomfort, he said Wednesday morning, but he suggested Americans should wear masks indoors as the nation grapples with the latest infectious variant.
And he paid tribute to vaccinations, which he said allowed him to stay in the White House in contrast to President Donald Trump who had to be airlifted to hospital.
'Here's the bottom line: When my predecessor got COVID he had to get helicoptered to Walter Reed Medical Center,' said Biden, 79.
'He was severely ill. Thankfully he recovered.

It is over 3 years since Gibson’s Bakery obtained judgment against Oberlin College for almost $32 million, which with accumulated interest nears $36 million, the amount of a bond posted by the college through Zurich American Insurance to secure the judgment. Neither “Grandpa” Allyn Gibson nor his son David Gibson lived to see the Gibson family collect. They both passed away, as Oberlin College waited them out. LOS ANGELES — The newest bridge in Los Angeles, a $588-million architectural marvel with views of the downtown skyline, opened to great fanfare on July 10. It has already been closed, to great dismay, several times since then amid chaos and collisions. The 6th Street Viaduct — which soars over the concrete-lined Los Angeles River to connect downtown to the historic Eastside — quickly became a hotspot for street racing, graffiti and illegal takeovers that draw hundreds of spectators to watch drivers perform dangerous stunts in their vehicles. Social media stunts have abounded as well — in one case, a man sat in a

EXCLUSIVE: The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee says new whistleblower disclosures allege FBI officials are pressuring agents to "reclassify" cases as "domestic violent extremism" in order to appease the Biden administration's push to focus on these cases.
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, sent a letter to FBI Director Chris Wray Wednesday after he says "brave whistleblowers" came forward with information about "disturbing conduct" at the agency.
"From recent protected disclosures, we have learned that FBI officials are pressuring agents to reclassify cases as ‘domestic violent extremism’ even if the cases do not meet the criteria for such a classification," writes Jordan.

Former President Donald Trump should announce his election bid for 2024 on the Tuesday after Labor Day. Here’s why.
Trump is an asset—and not, as beltway insiders like to assert—a liability on the campaign trail, especially in key Senate and gubernatorial races. Donald Trump revitalized a crumbling, corporatist Republican Party and began making it his own America First party, which reinvigorated it. He turned it into a party that welcomed the working class, Hispanics, black Americans, and Asian Americans. Now these groups are voting red, or at least leaving the Democratic Party, in staggering numbers;

Here's how the company did: Meta shares have lost about half their value since the beginning of the year, underscoring investor concern about the health of the company's core online advertising business. That unit has been hurt by Apple's iOS privacy update last year, limiting Meta's ability to track users, and by a weakening economy that's led some companies to slash their ad budgets.
Revenue in the second quarter fell almost 1% from a year earlier.

One of my favorite Hollywood movies is John Frankenheimer’s thriller, “Seven Days in May,” which describes an attempted military takeover of the US government. Written by “Twilight Zone” fabulist Rod Serling, the plot seemed far-fetched back in 1964. We knew that could never happen in America. Something equally sinister is playing out right now, only this time it is not a movie. The very cornerstone of our republic, the American justice system, is being sabotaged by the Democratic Party with the eager collaboration of the Biden administration.
In 2020, American cities and towns were ravaged by marauding mobs of crazed leftists. Dozens of lives were lost and damages amounted to billions.

Another month, another outsize interest rate hike.
The Federal Reserve raised its key short-term rate by three-quarters of a percentage point for a second straight month Wednesday in a bid to corral soaring inflation, matching the largest increase since 1994.
It puts the federal funds rate – which is what banks charge each other for overnight loans – at a range of 2.25% to 2.5%, close to the Fed’s 2.5% long-run, or neutral rate. That’s the rate intended to neither stimulate nor curtail economic growth. I was 12 years old when I realized that motherhood was my destiny—or, at least, that it was supposed to be.
It was the mid-1990s, the heyday of the so-called purity movement, when the True Love Waits campaign arrived at our small, Catholic parish in the suburbs of Chicago. A pious child who wanted to please God, I dutifully signed a pledge to my "future mate"—and strangely my "future children" too—that I would wait to have sex until I was married.
This prescribed only two good scripts for my life: Mother or Mother Superior.

For about 70 years, the definition of a recession has been simple: Two straight quarters of negative GDP growth. Everyone who has taken an Economics 101 class was taught the same thing, and until recently, there has been no argument on the matter.
In fact, the only time in modern history where two-straight quarters of negative growth didn’t define a recession was at the beginning of George W. Bush’s term. In that case, a single quarter of negative growth was used as the deciding point. (Tweet)

So remember the leak of the draft Alito majority opinion overturning Roe v. Wade in the Mississippi abortion case (Dobbs), that looked a lot like the eventual official majority opinion? That leak in early May 2022 led to several weeks of protests and attacks on the conservative Justices, including an assassination attempt on Brett Kavanaugh that has been memory-holed by the media and Democrats.
The standard speculation was that it was a law clerk for a liberal Justice. But there were alternatives spread, such as that it was an attempt by one of the conservative Justices to keep the others in line by alerting the public that there already

Typically, an incumbent president in their first term in office tends not to be challenged for their party’s nomination in pursuit of a second term, but it’s certainly not unprecedented for such a president to “be primaried.” In these situations, the sitting president is opposed by candidates in their own party and forced to defeat these challengers in the primary elections for the privilege of representing their party in the subsequent general election.
In 1992, for instance, President George H.W. Bush was primaried by Pat Buchanan. In 1976, President Gerald Ford was primaried by Ronald Reagan, and perhaps most famously, in 1980

When it comes to the most insufferable Democrat in Congress, Rep. Eric Swalwell, there's always the stench of something.
This time, it's raw campaign finance corruption, given Swalwell's amazing life of luxury lived out to the max on campaign funding. It sounds like the same kind of grift that put his California Republican congressional colleague, Duncan Hunter, jr., in a prison cell.
According to Fox News:
Eric Swalwell's campaign shows no signs of slowing its luxury spending, racking up more international costs at the likes of a five-star Paris hotel, federal filings show.

Former CNN host Chris Cuomo is set to join NewsNation as a prime-time host beginning this fall.
The hire was revealed as Cuomo appeared for an interview with NewsNation on Tuesday, his first television appearance since he was fired from CNN last year for his role in helping his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, combat sexual misconduct allegations.
"I want to build something special here," Cuomo said, adding that he does not think he cannot go back to what people see as the "big game" and touted a need for "insurgent media."
A statement from NewsNation was also released.

The Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office investigating Hunter Biden lacks the wherewithal and resources to adequately probe the dubious financial dealings of the Biden family and their business partners, according to three current or former Department of Justice officials.
“If any single one of the dozens of issues had been alleged about the Bush or Trump families, a special counsel would have been appointed immediately,” said one career official familiar with the probe.

Progressive politicians, such as Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, have attacked pro-life pregnancy centers in the wake of Roe v. Wade’s overturn, going as far as to call for them to be shut down across the country.
But the women who run these centers say nothing could be further from the truth.
Fox News Digital hopped on a call with four Mississippi crisis pregnancy center leaders for an interview and learned how these centers are supporting the families they serve from pregnancies and beyond.

MADISON – Less than two years ago, Ginger Urbanik was planning a funeral for her only son after he was killed by a drunken driver who had veered into oncoming traffic. Now, still grieving one child, she's making the same arrangements for her daughter and granddaughter.

here is no script for first ladies in wartime, and so Olena Zelenska is writing her own. The wife of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a longtime comedy writer, always preferred to stay behind the scenes, while her husband, a comedian turned politician whose presidency may yet determine the fate of the free world, glowed in the limelight. But ever since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, Zelenska has suddenly found herself center stage in a tragedy. When I met her on a recent rainy afternoon in Kyiv, where cafés were busy even amid frequent air-raid sirens, her luminous face and green-brown eyes seemed to capture the range of emotions

Democratic leaders on Tuesday touted Chicago’s diversity, ability to attract union-friendly jobs and “unified leadership” in their pitch to secure the 2024 Democratic National Convention — despite an intramural feud over who should lead the state’s own party apparatus.
DNC Chair Jaime Harrison’s visit to Chicago comes as U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly faces opposition as chair of the Democratic Party of Illinois, with advisers to Gov. J.B Pritzker and Illinois House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch recruiting state Rep. Elizabeth Hernandez, D-Cicero, to replace her.

From 1860 to 2000, in the largest legal migration in human history, over 61 million immigrants arrived in the United States. They were not only escaping poverty and oppression, but they were eager to assimilate and attain the most sought-after national status in the world: American citizenship. Today in the 21st century, American citizenship and its one-of-a-kind written contract with the central government, the Constitution with its Bill of Rights, is under relentless assault by the nation’s governing establishment and teetering on the edge of meaninglessness. Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz pressed the State Department’s chief Diversity and Inclusion officer Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley over an email allegedly excluding “straight, white men” and people of the wrong religion from being hired.
The senator argued Tuesday that the department’s Equity Action Plan, which changed hiring practices at the agency, is “nothing more than brazen discrimination.” An email from a senior department official described reports from candidates claiming to be denied a position for having a disability or for classifying as “white men, straight white men, [or] not [being] of the right religion.”

WASHINGTON, District of Columbia — Former President Donald Trump dedicated most of his keynote address at AFPI’s America First Agenda Summit on Tuesday to crime, one of the main issues facing Americans across the country.
During his speech, Trump said public safety is one of the “core issues” facing the country. “There is no higher priority than cleaning up our streets, controlling our borders, stopping the drugs from pouring in, and quickly restoring law and order,” he said.
“In the Democrat rule, in Democrat-run cities, Democrat-run states, and a Democrat-run federal government, the criminals have been given free rein more than ever before,” the former president said.

By now, you will have heard that Bruce Springsteen fans have been apoplectic over the news that tickets for his 2023 tour are in some cases going for $4,000 to $5,000. Ticketmaster, which is at least one corporation that the cultural elites do not seem to oppose, has defended the move by stating that it is part of its “dynamic system” allowing it to price “platinum” tickets on a system based on supply and demand. No need to find a scalper outside the venue. You can find one in just a few clicks. But as Bobby Olivier pointed out at NJ.com, back in 2009,

President Biden warned oil companies last week that if they don’t do more to help address rising prices, he will revoke their drilling permits on federal lands.
While touting that gas prices have fallen to below $4 at 30,000 gas stations across 35 states, he said more needs to be done.
"First, we’re going to look at ways to increase oil production from the existing wells and permits that exist today," he said. "The industry has more approved permits for production on federal lands than they can possibly use. That’s a fact. Let me say it again: They have more than they can use.

Anyone who watches “The View” expecting to get something even close to news or, for that matter, accuracy would be sorely mistaken.
They’ve shown over and over again they have problems with basic facts.
Who can ever forget this winner of a comment from Whoopi Goldberg on how “Dr” Jill Biden would make a great surgeon general from two years ago? As we reported, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) just had a great dunk on it. [Video]
“The View” and their silliness were back in the news after they started spreading all kinds of nonsense about the Turning Point USA event in Tampa

The key narrative of the Jan. 6 Committee is that Donald Trump wanted to incite the violence that took place that day.
To do this, they’ve hidden and manipulated evidence. As we’ve previously reported, they presented a doctored video of Trump’s speech, interwoven with violent images and audio, while not including the portion of President Trump’s speech in which he told his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” make their voices heard. Not once did he call for any violence or for them to break into the building.
But the committee has done even more to undermine the truth. Prior to his rally, Trump informed various military leaders

The Department of Justice has begun investigating former President Donald Trump as part of a criminal probe surrounding January 6th and his attempt to “overturn the election.” According to the Washington Examiner, questions are being asked about what Trump said in meetings around the time, including what he may have told others to do in regards to stopping the certification of the election results. One specific line of inquiry entails the so-called “false electors” scheme members of the press have been going nuts over.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ignored cries of anger and desperation from farmers and provincial officials last weekend by pressing ahead with a climate change agenda that will dramatically reduce Canada’s use of fertilizer — the same ruinous strategy that drove Dutch farmers into revolt and destroyed the agriculture of Sri Lanka.
The Toronto Sun reported on a dismaying Friday meeting of federal and provincial ministers, in which the latter could not convince the Trudeau administration to show any “flexibility” in its emissions targets, not even with a global food crisis on the horizon:

Washington, District of Columbia — Former Vice President Mike Pence outlined his “freedom agenda” Tuesday morning, citing the late Andrew Breitbart in his vision to restore American culture.
“Politics is downstream of culture,” Pence said, quoting Breitbart. “The American people are proud of our culture.” “American freedom is under attack,” he said, “big tech, big media, big government, even big business.” The left is pushing a “pernicious woke agenda designed to … destroy the American dream,” he continued, saying that the “the ruling elite has never been more out of touch” but also “never more intent on imposing their agenda.”

Is Joe Biden’s staff trying to sabotage him? Probably not, but man have some bad decisions been made lately as far as his public appearances go. Don’t get me wrong, there’s never really a good time to have Biden out in front of people, but the rush to push out recordings of him after he contracted COVID-19 has led to some really uncomfortable scenes. Almost immediately, the White House released a picture that left nothing but questions. Biden then did a live stream (which cut off suddenly) in which he looked like he was about keel over. Then, on Monday, the president’s comms team put together a clip of him ranting
