There's no Republican who the haters at MSNBC won't mock, even in death. Extremist MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan on Sunday undermined Bob Dole, downplaying his World War II heroics because, at the end of his life, he identified himself as a Trump supporter. Hasan, who has a Sunday night show on MSNBC and occasionally fills-in for other supposedly reputable programs, rewrote a New York Times tweet on the late Army vet who almost died under withering Nazi machine gun fire:

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. — A Black family’s successful fight to reclaim a picturesque stretch of Southern California shoreline has ignited a national movement, with activists eyeing White-owned properties around the country they say rightfully belong to African Americans. A landmark law signed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Sept. 30 provided for a seaside park in Manhattan Beach to be returned to the Bruce family, which owned the land before the city used eminent domain to seize it in 1924. The victory was hailed as a watershed moment, the first example of Black people forcing the return of property

As a thought experiment, I posted the following statement to Twitter last week:
“Unless you are 100% sure that this vaccine is 100% safe for 100% of those who take it (you aren’t), you have NO moral right to force or coerce it on ANYONE. In fact, choosing to do so is an evil action.”
To clarify, I added the below as a follow-up:
“You can strongly recommend it. You can explain why you think the benefits are worth the drawbacks and/or risks. What you can't do - if you want to stay on the right side of morality, that is - is impose a negative consequence for making the 'wrong' choice.

The White House flagged money laundering in the art industry on Monday as a point of corruption while allowing Hunter Biden to sell his artwork to anonymous buyers for as much as $500,000.The first report of its kind named the United States Strategy on Countering Corruption is geared towards exploring the ways and means “government officials abuse public power for private gain.”Though the White House’s report specifically focused on the art industry as a “market” where financial crimes occur, it did not mention the Biden family’s involvement with corruption, such as Hunter’s art selling scheme to investors while his father is president.

My cousin was murdered a few weeks ago. Shot in the back of the head by a “friend.” And robbed. He was 29, harmless, but attached to one too many friends in low places. The killer, predictably, was also a young black man. Just as predictably, my cousin only met his father once or twice – just enough to keep his gut throbbing with the snub of paternal abandonment.
His older brother patched the gaps as much as he could. He encouraged him, chastised him, and called him on most days just to check in –

While many Americans have been focused on the endless carnage the Biden administration has wrought on our border, New York City is on the verge of passing radical legislation to give migrants the right to vote in city elections.
The proposed bill would allow roughly 800,000 non-citizens to vote as long as they have legal status or a work visa. The legislation is expected to be voted on next month and has the support of incumbent Mayor Bill de Blasio, as well as incoming Mayor Eric Adams, whose framing of the bill has been misguided, if not intentionally deceptive.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is suing the state of Texas over its new redistricting maps, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Monday.
The lawsuit, which was filed in the Western District of Texas, claims that the state violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. The maps were drawn by state lawmakers during a special session and were signed and approved by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, in October.
“Today, the Justice Department has filed suit against the state of Texas for violating Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act,” Garland said in a press conference Monday.

In it, he makes a remarkable statement quoting his friend Shelby Steele, himself a black English professor who now writes books commenting on current affairs.
Loury quotes Steele to the effect that “the problem before [blacks in America] now is not a problem of oppression. It is a problem of freedom. It is a problem of seizing opportunity, the problem of taking responsibility.”
It echoed within me as I have been thinking similar thoughts about the problem of freedom,

Despite the lack of so-called “gold standard” double-blind studies, we now effectively know that early (off-label) use of the anti-parasite/anti-malarial drugs hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin can have a very significant effect on reducing COVID mortality. (snip) Dr. Ben Carson appeared on Maria Bartiromo’s Fox News show Sunday Futures yesterday, and in his trademark reasonable voice spoke wisdom about the COVID pandemic and panic. He expressed views that have been censored or shadow banned by Twitter, Facebook, and Google. (snip) Among the many points he made (snip) is the need to research why the tropical countries in Africa where HCQ and IVM are widely used have such minor death tolls from COVID.

President Biden announced an anti-corruption strategy Monday that targets cash transactions for real estate that might be used to hide ill-gotten wealth and calls on hedge funds to watch out for money laundering. The administration estimated that $2.3 billion was laundered through the U.S. real estate market from 2015 to 2020.
“The U.S. real estate market has become a significant destination for the laundered proceeds of illicit activity, including corruption,” the White House said in a 38-page strategy that follows Mr. Biden’s June order to draft ideas.(Snip)Mr. Biden’s strategy calls for regulations that will detect corruption actors “hiding behind opaque corporate structures,”

Speaking on WMAL radio in Washington, DC just after 7 AM Eastern, DC superlawyer, former US Attorney for the District of Columbia, and conservative savant Joe DiGenova outspokenly declared that they key to understanding why Chris Cuomo was fired is a man named John Malone, whom he described as a “robber baron” who destroys and rebuilds properties that he takes control of.
CNN is in the process of being sold by its current owner, AT&T (snip) According to DiGenova, he is a loud enough voice that Jeff Zucker’s job is far from secure in a new CNN, and the firing of Cuomo is directly related to Malone’s intent.

In the aftermath of the red wave in the November elections and amid national shifts toward the GOP in the generic ballot, some of the more moderate Democrats in the House are privately suggesting that another campaign based on nothing more than “not being Donald Trump” is probably not going to work out for them. Or at least that’s the gist of one analysis from Axios. Several Democratic lawmakers have been shifting the topics they highlight on social media in recent weeks, with some resorting to the old axiom about how “all politics is local.” But if that turns out to be the new game plan,

This viral video of the Patriot Front marchers from the now-suspended “@SherylLewellen” account, which was created just days ago, had over 1 million views!
Now, if you saw this video earlier on Twitter, the account might have looked a little different. And that’s because the profile photo used to be of an attractive blonde woman whose bio claimed she was a digital/print journo with a love of avocados:

The CEO of an online mortgage lender fired 900 of his employees in a brutal Zoom call - then slammed them for being so 'lazy' they effectively 'stole' from customers.Vishal Garg axed around nine per cent of Better.com's workforce last Wednesday - three weeks before Christmas - including its entire diversity, equity and inclusion team, which deals with complaints about racism and sexism in the workplace. Garg told them bluntly: 'This isn't news that you're going to want to hear...If you're on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off.

A total of 60 United States police officers have been shot and killed in the line of duty since the beginning of the year, new data reveals, following anti-law enforcement riots and the start of the “Defund the Police” movement in 2020.
According to records from the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP), 60 police officers across 45 U.S. states and territories have been killed in gunfire from January 1 to December 3 — a nearly 28 percent increase in fatal shootings of officers compared to all of 2020 when 47 officers were shot and killed.

Recent COVID-19 research sponsored by vaccine makers and the federal government may actually undermine the rationale for vaccine mandates.
Two studies published last month in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) showed statistically insignificant differences between participants who received vaccinations or placebos in Pfizer and Moderna trials.
Five placebo versus two vaccinated participants died from COVID-19 or related pneumonia across the two randomized controlled trials of more than 74,000 people six to seven months later. The figures are available in each study's supplementary appendix.
All deaths reported during the vaccine trials, regardless of listed cause, were similarly close between vaccine (31) and placebo (30) groups in the two appendices.

Just when it seemed President Joe Biden could get no lower in the public’s political esteem, a new I&I/TIPP Poll of Americans’ preference for the 2024 Democratic presidential ballot is a shocker: Just over one out of five want Joe Biden back at the top of the Democrats’ ticket in three years.
A number of recent I&I/TIPP Polls (here and here) have documented Biden’s sharp decline in favorability with the public due to a number of issues, ranging from his leadership of the military, the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, the recent inflation surge and supply-chain crisis, the border crisis, and a number of other vexing White House issues.

There is no better time for the GOP to craft a new Contract with America to
drive the campaigns for both the 2022 midterms and 2024 Presidential
election year. That's right, it should focus their campaign strategy for the
next three years. Why? Even if there is an overwhelming GOP landslide next
November, the chances of having a big enough swing to be able overcome a
Biden veto is unlikely. No matter what Republican candidates promise; it
will be hard to meet expectations until we have a president in office who
will support their agenda.
Even with that limitation, it is vital to proceed and clarify what we stand
for. It isn't just the candidates conservatives need to elect;

Proud Republican and Second Amendment supporter Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky is being denounced and demonized by Democrat activists and their media allies for the purported sin of exercising his constitutional rights.
Massie is a legal gun owner. So are the members of his family.
On Saturday, the Republican congressman posted a “Merry Christmas” tweet containing a photo of his family standing or sitting in front of a Christmas tree. Each member of the family, all of them adults, was carrying a legal firearm.
Besides saying “Merry Christmas,” the tweet also asked Santa Clause to “bring more ammo.”

Elections have consequences, and the consequences of the 2016 election were an influx of conservative judges who are now, years later, preventing current President Joe Biden from imposing his draconian vaccine mandates on the American people.
“It’s the bitter fruit of Trump,” Carl Tobias, a University of Richmond law professor who’s frequently cited as an “expert” by the establishment press, lamented in a statement to The Hill.
“This is where you are when Trump appointed almost a third of the federal appellate bench. This is what you’re going to see for some time.”
The report by The Hill is titled, “Trump haunts Biden vaccine mandate in courts.”

Former Trump administration official turned radio show host Sebastian Gorka has predicted that former President Donald Trump won’t run for reelection in 2024 unless congressional Republicans recapture BOTH the House and Senate in 2022.
Why? Because if Democrats retain even the slightest degree of power in Congress, chances are the former president will face yet another impeachment.
But assuming all goes as planned, Gorka’s 99.9 percent confident that Trump will indeed run for reelection. Speaking on GB News last week, he admitted that he’d originally given it a 95 percent chance but changed his mind after meeting up with Trump.

It’s not about the variant -- it’s about the fear. Like a magician who gains his reputation for sleight-of-hand -- getting the audience to concentrate on one aspect of a trick while manipulating another -- so government authorities around the world are using the unknown aspects of a new COVID-19 variant to keep the public in fear about their future well-being.
This chronic fear under the guise of an “emergency” has granted unbelievable amounts of power to those who the media anoint as “experts” and “scientists.” They are milking their new-found fame and perceived wisdom to make pronouncements and exercise control without discussion, debate, or appeal.

Last Thursday, President Biden announced his “COVID-19 Winter Plan.” Despite his claim that it will fight the disease with “science and speed,” it ignores virtually everything scientists have learned about coronavirus during the past two years. Indeed, it contains a number of elements that epidemiologists have denounced and that evidence has proven counterproductive. These include an irrational emphasis on vaccinating low risk children, the promotion of booster shots that the World Health Organization (WHO) has pronounced ineffective, travel bans that could very well jeopardize efforts to contain future outbreaks, and strident calls for private businesses to bully their employees into getting vaccinated.

Santa Claus visited El Paso County, Colorado, weeks early this year to apply for a concealed handgun permit from the local sheriff’s office. [Tweet]
Guess who came in to receive his Concealed Handgun Permit today?” the county sheriff’s office tweeted with a Santa emoji. “Did you know the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has issued 49,750 Concealed Handgun Permits with another 2,560 awaiting to be issued?”
The tweet included a photo of Santa Claus sitting at a desk at the sheriff’s office with an administrative worker on the other side. Santa appeared to be filling out a concealed handgun permit application.

It’s been two months since an NBC reporter pretended that chants of “F**k Joe Biden!” at the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega were actually the crowd shouting “Let’s go, Brandon!”
In that short time, the phrase went from a viral social media meme to a chart-topping song on iTunes. It’s on shirts, bumper stickers, and face masks and has made its way into the House chamber. It even has its own dance. But the saying’s journey isn’t over.
There is now a “Let’s Go Brandon” store. [Tweet]
The retail outlet, which is located in North Attleboro, Mass., sells “Let’s Go Brandon” merchandise such as hats, shirts and signs.
