Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday celebrated the reinstatement of a Florida doctor who temporarily lost his job because of President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate.
“Jeff, a Florida doctor I met in Brandon at the Special Session bill signing, was suspended from his job due to Biden’s mandate. He has now been reinstated due to our efforts to stop this heavy-handed federal mandate,” DeSantis announced, declaring that “freedom has a home here in Florida”: [Tweet].
Indeed, last month, DeSantis, signed legislation in Brandon, Florida — an obvious nod to the “Let’s Go, Brandon!” movement sweeping the nation —

Homeless and people with low incomes will soon be housed next to the iconic and expensive Venice Beach neighborhood after the Los Angeles City Council approved last week a 136-unit apartment building.
The project, which will be built on city property that is now a parking lot, will cover 2.7 acres and the Venice Dell Community project will cost $75 million.
This is a development that is also taking place in other U.S. cities led by leftists who believe forcing diversity of income and race into prosperous and safe neighborhoods is required to achieve “equity.”
Half of the units will house homeless people,

As a thought experiment, I posted the following statement to Twitter last week:
“Unless you are 100% sure that this vaccine is 100% safe for 100% of those who take it (you aren’t), you have NO moral right to force or coerce it on ANYONE. In fact, choosing to do so is an evil action.”
To clarify, I added the below as a follow-up:
“You can strongly recommend it. You can explain why you think the benefits are worth the drawbacks and/or risks. What you can't do - if you want to stay on the right side of morality, that is - is impose a negative consequence for making the 'wrong' choice.

Editor's Note: Graphic content warning.
My cousin was murdered a few weeks ago. Shot in the back of the head by a “friend.” And robbed. He was 29, harmless, but attached to one too many friends in low places. The killer, predictably, was also a young black man. Just as predictably, my cousin only met his father once or twice – just enough to keep his gut throbbing with the snub of paternal abandonment.
His older brother patched the gaps as much as he could. He encouraged him, chastised him, and called him on most days just to check in –

While many Americans have been focused on the endless carnage the Biden administration has wrought on our border, New York City is on the verge of passing radical legislation to give migrants the right to vote in city elections.
The proposed bill would allow roughly 800,000 non-citizens to vote as long as they have legal status or a work visa. The legislation is expected to be voted on next month and has the support of incumbent Mayor Bill de Blasio, as well as incoming Mayor Eric Adams, whose framing of the bill has been misguided, if not intentionally deceptive.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is suing the state of Texas over its new redistricting maps, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Monday.
The lawsuit, which was filed in the Western District of Texas, claims that the state violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. The maps were drawn by state lawmakers during a special session and were signed and approved by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, in October.
“Today, the Justice Department has filed suit against the state of Texas for violating Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act,” Garland said in a press conference Monday.

On any given day, Twitter is an absolute bowl of dumb, but today may have eclipsed all the other days after Twitter leftists – some of them with large followings – circulated what they claimed was a photo of former President Donald Trump’s 2021 Christmas card.
While it’s unclear who posted the image first, one person who did was Grant Stern, who has 167,000 followers and who is the executive editor of “Occupy Democrats,” which is one of the most dishonest Twitter accounts ever to exist on the platform. In a now-deleted tweet, here’s what Stern – a frequent critic of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, I should note –

If you don’t like Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman’s new woke animated Christmas series “Santa Inc.” then you’re a white supremacist according to Rogen. If that’s the case, then apparently everyone is a white supremacist, because the reviews are so bad that it’s become one of the worst-rated series ever.
The series is an “R-rated animated Christmas comedy with a touch of a feminist agenda” according to the promo by Rogen and Silverman. The premise of the show is that the role of Santa is typically one played by a white man, and that’s an issue for some reason. If it wasn’t obvious already, the allegory here

There is no better time for the GOP to craft a new Contract with America to
drive the campaigns for both the 2022 midterms and 2024 Presidential
election year. That's right, it should focus their campaign strategy for the
next three years. Why? Even if there is an overwhelming GOP landslide next
November, the chances of having a big enough swing to be able overcome a
Biden veto is unlikely. No matter what Republican candidates promise; it
will be hard to meet expectations until we have a president in office who
will support their agenda.
Even with that limitation, it is vital to proceed and clarify what we stand
for. It isn't just the candidates conservatives need to elect;

Proud Republican and Second Amendment supporter Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky is being denounced and demonized by Democrat activists and their media allies for the purported sin of exercising his constitutional rights.
Massie is a legal gun owner. So are the members of his family.
On Saturday, the Republican congressman posted a “Merry Christmas” tweet containing a photo of his family standing or sitting in front of a Christmas tree. Each member of the family, all of them adults, was carrying a legal firearm.
Besides saying “Merry Christmas,” the tweet also asked Santa Clause to “bring more ammo.”

Elections have consequences, and the consequences of the 2016 election were an influx of conservative judges who are now, years later, preventing current President Joe Biden from imposing his draconian vaccine mandates on the American people.
“It’s the bitter fruit of Trump,” Carl Tobias, a University of Richmond law professor who’s frequently cited as an “expert” by the establishment press, lamented in a statement to The Hill.
“This is where you are when Trump appointed almost a third of the federal appellate bench. This is what you’re going to see for some time.”
The report by The Hill is titled, “Trump haunts Biden vaccine mandate in courts.”

Former Trump administration official turned radio show host Sebastian Gorka has predicted that former President Donald Trump won’t run for reelection in 2024 unless congressional Republicans recapture BOTH the House and Senate in 2022.
Why? Because if Democrats retain even the slightest degree of power in Congress, chances are the former president will face yet another impeachment.
But assuming all goes as planned, Gorka’s 99.9 percent confident that Trump will indeed run for reelection. Speaking on GB News last week, he admitted that he’d originally given it a 95 percent chance but changed his mind after meeting up with Trump.
“I saw the president recently in New York.
