While many Americans have been focused on the endless carnage the Biden administration has wrought on our border, New York City is on the verge of passing radical legislation to give migrants the right to vote in city elections.
The proposed bill would allow roughly 800,000 non-citizens to vote as long as they have legal status or a work visa. The legislation is expected to be voted on next month and has the support of incumbent Mayor Bill de Blasio, as well as incoming Mayor Eric Adams, whose framing of the bill has been misguided, if not intentionally deceptive.

Clearly unconstitutional - I hope the NYS Republican party take them to Federal court.

Do they intend to use the same voter rolls for State and Federal elections?

someone had better find some way to neutralize comrade deblasio after he leaves office because as long as he has political standing he will be a useful tool for the demcommies.
don't have much hope for Eric Adams, either.
New York will uninhabitable within the next ten years.
what is happening in New York (city & state) politics is a political map for destruction.

We should perhaps do our best to stay away from New York and any businesses domiciled there. That could be our statement regarding their ill-conceived moves.

Give them the vote and dem politicians will give them welfare, not jobs, and NY continues to go down the drain, maybe permanently.

My guess is that a city can probably decide who can vote. The city or state cannot allow non-citizens to vote in a federal election, but I'm sure these "half-voters" will be on the rolls and will wind up voting in the nationals, too. It's not like we verify who votes anymore in this country. Iran is better at it than we are.

Correction to the statement by #3. NYC is totally corrupt, but NYS outside the city generally is not. Apparently corruption is inevitably engendered by population density, as we see in nearly every large city in this country.
Thomas Jefferson once said that...When we have people living on top of each other like in Europe, we will become as corrupt as Europe is...

Correction to #13's correction - - - -
There is a place in New York State outside of New York City - - called Albany - - which makes a cesspool smell like a field of lavender. Other than that - - the rest of New York State is mostly OK.

No surprise there. The last thing Dems want is to be held accountable by legitimate voters, AKA American citizens. In order to "win" they need to import more poverty into the US. That is why, on his first day in office, Biden opened our borders, did away with President Trump's sensible "Remain in Mexico" policy, and encouraged illegal aliens to flood the United States of America at their convenience.
Of course, de Blasio and his cronies will pretend voting will be "limited" to a subset of non-citizens. But if it were possible to limit illegal voting, it wouldn't be a "thing" that already happens in every election. Dems can say it wouldn't apply to presidential elections, but again, that kind of cheating already happens. Dems want to disenfranchise legitimate American voters by inviting non-citizens to enlarge the voting pool. It's a way to quickly outnumber legitimate voters. It's just another way to cheat.

To #2: NYS Republican party is hurting, needs serious help; we are horrifically outnumbered. Even a lot who work - or previously worked - for the state (MILLIONS of people) & the teachers' union (another half million, strongest in the state) say they are republican but vote dem because dems keep giving them more benes at the expense of everyone else.
To #3: Not all the state, just NYC

Free money buys a lot of votes, that’s what Biden’s so-called “Build Back Better” proposed legislation is all about.

The dems are desperate to be doing this. They must kno that they cannot win with the current citizens alone. So the need to have non citizens vote assuming that they will vote democrat.

Yeah, I knew the new mayor would be as rotten and incompetent as the old one. He played on his career as a cop to put a big one over on the voters. So I do not have any sympathy left for that state or city. The state I feel badly for is Florida. Pelosi and all her corruption found a place to buy for her retirement.

This will die in the court system...so why now...well the democrats need illegals to vote so they are throwing them a rope to the other side of the Rio Grande...come here and you'll be a citizen...is their rallying cry...not that they expect it will win in court...BUT the democrats are throwing candy to the illegal aliens...just like obama used DACA to promise citizenship to illegal aliens...and where did that get them...a lot of cheated votes for Mr. Magoo and the lush harris...

Can we really believe the DOJ would prosecute this case, or the Federal Court of the Southern District of NY would even hear a case brought forward? They are way to busy trying to destroy DJT.

#12:. I don't think there will be separate ballots for 'real' voters and illegal voters. In national elections they're all on the same slate.
It will make a difference in House seats, as that's done by population and NY has been losing population.

NYC voters have greased the skids towards the destruction of the Big Apple. What sanely-run businesses will want to stay in NY? Unless you are getting freebies (unions, etc.) why would anyone live there anymore, exposing themselves to danger?

The NY and NYC tyrannical lockdowns, masks and cherry picking which businesses were "essential" and which ines closed created a mass migration of what some articles state was 900,000 in 2020. Most were W2's, 1099's and retirement income. However, NY's population lost only 40 to 50,000 according to the 2020 U.S. Census. Was it the population was counted before 2020 or illegals backfilled the productive?

I can't imagine this being allowed to stand without first seeing the inside of a courtroom in challenge!! And what happens when these "enlightened migrants" decide to move to states which don't allow this and violated federal voting laws??
