Socialist Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib took to the House floor recently to complain about her personal student debt and advocated American taxpayers should bailout students like her. (Tweet/Video) Tlaib is a perfect example of how federal bailouts of student loans would actually benefit the rich. It’s not just the poor taking out loans. Students from families earning more than $114,000 a year borrow at the same rate as the lowest-income students — and they take out loans nearly twice as large. Students with advanced degrees — lawyers, doctors and others — account for 40% of all student debt.

I don't know where she went to law school, but she should ask for her money back.

Cry me a river. For years and years, people were able to pay off their students loans without the notion that the government needed to pay it off for them. Of course, this was before the Democrats brainwashed the current crop of snowflakes into thinking that everything should be free and that their lives were being destroyed by rich people. Chances are, it was those self-made rich people who paid off their student loans on their own. Maybe you should put your energy into working hard, putting off things like expensive vacations, new cars, designer clothing, and other extravagant expenses and pay of your debts.

Maybe the government should just give everyone with student loans a copy of Dave Ramsey's "The Total Money Makeover" when they graduate along with a note of congratulations and the dates that student loan payments start.

Are they going to repay every dollar I paid for my children’s college? I took loans out for them, and paid them all off… I want my money back!!!

Rashida Tlaib took a law degree from one of the lowest ranked law schools in the country and they fleeced her for over 200 grand. Then it took her three years to finally pass the bar exam. Explains how she wound up in politics. She's too damn dumb to make it in the real world.

When my daughter went to college, I was working full time. I got a part time job too and so did she. I would go to work at 8:00 am and work till 4:30 pm and then leave for my other job at 5:00 and work till 9:30. I'd work all day on Saturdays and Sundays. I still don't know how I lasted, but we got her through school with no debt. It was hard, but we did it.

Hey Tlaib: Pay off your own damn loan!
Also, if you and your 3 comrades don’t like America, find the exit door and use it!

You have to have a lot of nerve to be making $174000 per year while demanding the taxpayers pay off your student loan.

My hats off to all of you that worked hard and paid off your debt or that of your children. My parents paid for what schooling I had. They worked hard every day of their lives to make our lives(7 children) better. May they rest in peace.

my parents paid for my undergraduate education, and I worked to help them. I paid 100% of my grad school education myself by working. I owed nobody an penny when I graduated, worked nights and weekends and more to pay, and fortunately had parents able to pay most of my costs for my bachelor's degree.
Pay for your own damned school or don't go. These days the cost benefit ratio of a college degree in most fields is very poor.

Sweetie, the US treasury is not your piggy bank. Start a non-profit to help students pay their education loans. You collect money with donations. Then you disperse the money to all who need the money.
(Be sure to follow ALL the guidelines and regulations for non-profits.)

I put four through college. We were poor as church mice but I somehow got the first two graduated with only one small bank loan that I repaid promptly. No vacations, no new cars, no extravagant purchases. Fortunately, I was making a lot of money when I got the last two through their senior years. Now they take some useless degree and borrow $150,000 to finance it while talking about how unfair “The Man” is. Now they want the taxpayers to bail them out. Where do I get my refund?

She needs to go back to some harem and leave us alone. Obama is responsible for all these anti-American muslims in office. We need to bill him for what it is costing us.

If you look closely at the signature on the bottom of the Student Loan paperwork, it clearly states that Rashida Talib will be responsible to repay her student loans, with interest! My name, and the names of the American tax payers do not appear on those loan documents as being responsible for hers, or any other student loan debt. If YOU took out the loan, YOU get to pay it back. I did not get YOUR college education, YOU did. Grow up, accept responsibility for YOUR debts that YOU incurred.

Why should someone working in a factory line worker, plumber, waitress, daycare worker, or retail store clerk be forced to pay off the student loan debts of an attorney, physician, surgeon, engineer, teacher, or anyone else?
