Politicians love to talk about running the government “like a business,” but President Donald Trump is arguably the only person who has ever approached the presidency with a true CEO mentality. Drawing on his decades of business experience, Trump clearly recognizes that his job right now is very similar to that of a CEO brought in to engineer a corporate turnaround. Virtually across the board, the entire apparatus of the federal government is in desperate need of an overhaul. Donald Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night was the most powerful, rousing and pointed of any presidential address in decades. “America is back… and we are just getting started,” it began, capturing the theme of the night. The address ended with a peroration that his administration would “take up the righteous cause of American liberty” and “fight, fight, fight for a country our citizens’ believe in and deserve.” Our country’s “Golden Age,” he said, ”has just begun.” Dozens and dozens of applause lines were planted throughout the speech as Trump laid…

I am assigned the role of being the dour critic of speeches and debates, but this time I can't find a bad thing to say about Donald Trump's speech last night. Not one damn thing. It was quite literally the best speech before Congress ever, and that is saying a lot. I watched all Reagan's SOTU speeches, and they were great. But Trump really took these speeches to a new level by avoiding the "laundry list" approach to SOTU speeches and instead leaned into a different Reagan innovation: telling the American story through focusing on ordinary Americans and what brings us together.

'America is back!' Donald Trump bellowed kicking off his first joint address to Congress as the 47th President, marking the fifth time he's spoken to a gathering of the House and Senate. But this was Trump's lengthiest and, by far, his most effective effort yet. There were no overtures to bipartisanship, no reaching across the aisle. This was a president certain of the direction that he wants to take the country – and willing, if not determined, to crush his opposition if necessary. And given the Democrats behavior last night, they deserved every bit of it. Trump walked into the House chamber triumphant on Tuesday evening

Holy moly, these people aren’t playing around. From DOGE finding billions of dollars in fraud and waste and decimating bloated (corrupt) agencies like USAID to the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announcing plans to shutter over 110 IRS offices, the Trump administration has been cutting waste like no administration we have ever seen before. And they are far from done, it would seem: on Tuesday, the GSA outlined plans to get rid of a staggering 443 “non-core” federal properties and sell them off. The size of such a move would be absolutely yuge: An inventory of 443 “non-core” assets posted by the General Services Administration Tuesday included

Democrats in the chamber for Trump’s speech have behaved like petulant children from the very beginning of his speech. One of them even had to be removed from the chamber. Trump got tired of it and called them out to their faces, saying that nothing he could ever do or say would cause them to stand, applaud, or even smile. He is absolutely right, and this admonishment called these people out for the vicious, petty, horrible people that they are. Partial transcript via Twitter/X:

It’s now our time to lead, govern, and drag this country out of the dementia-laden mess left by Joe Biden and his clown car of incompetents who wrecked the country. (Video) You knew the atmosphere would be charged, with threats of Democratic shenanigans during President Trump’s first address to Congress. Rep. Al Green (D-TX) was ejected from the chamber. The rest of the Democrats had paddle signs and resistance t-shirts in what was a cringeworthy display

The Democrats’ reaction to President Trump’s first address to Congress since the 2024 election wasn’t out of the ordinary for these surly, puerile mental invalids. Yet, when you can’t cheer for law enforcement, that’s a problem. It's baffling when you can’t cheer for someone accepting to West Point. But when you refuse to clap or stand for a 13-year-old with cancer who wants to be a police officer, it’s deplorable.
