Trump bulldozes through joint address

We’ve been told that President Trump’s address to Congress tonight would dilate on the theme of the “Renewal of the American Dream.” And so it did. But for short hand, two ideas predominated. One was “Woke No More.” The other was “common sense.” Both were themes of Trump’s inaugural address. I have expatiated on the theme of Trump’s embrace of common sense in a talk I gave to the Connecticut outpost of Hillsdale College at the end of January. The irony is that what should be common to all has been so uncommon in an age marked by perversity and ideology. Together, the attack on wokeness and the reinstitution of

The Dems certainly didn't impress anyone in a good way with their surliness, pink outfits, having to be called out on their decorum, and having Rep. Al Green taken out because he would not shut up and sit down. What a childish bunch! Thank goodness the camera didn't linger on Pelosi because she can drive you crazy with that thing she constantly does with her ill-fitting dentures. Trump, on the other hand, had a great night. Unfortunately every good thing he tries to accomplish is going to be met with opposition by the Dems. He isn't going to quit though because he has a vision for "making America great again" and he is determined to carry it out.

When President Donald Trump returned to the White House on January 20, 2025, weapons shipments previously halted by the Biden State Department to the Israeli government were sent out the door - including 2000 pound bombs. "The U.S. authorized the release of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel, Jan. 25, 2025, a munition that had previously been held back. The president told reporters at the time that those weapons had been paid for and that Israel had been waiting 'a long time' for their delivery," DOD News reported.

Donald Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday night was the most powerful, rousing and pointed of any presidential address in decades. “America is back… and we are just getting started,” it began, capturing the theme of the night. The address ended with a peroration that his administration would “take up the righteous cause of American liberty” and “fight, fight, fight for a country our citizens’ believe in and deserve.” Our country’s “Golden Age,” he said, ”has just begun.” Dozens and dozens of applause lines were planted throughout the speech as Trump laid…

Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy is one of the Democrats urging his party to resist President Donald Trump more aggressively across a broad range of issues. “Mr. Murphy has seemed to be everywhere, all at once, since Inauguration Day,” the New York Times recently wrote, “staging a loud and constant resistance to Mr. Trump at a time when Democrats are struggling to figure out how to respond to him.” Murphy has exhibited the usual Resistance obsessions, focusing furiously on Trump, Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk, and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. And now, as he devotes his energy to

If you want to understand why last Friday’s Oval Office press conference between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky went off the rails, ignore most of what you are seeing in the corporate media. Anyone watching a video of the entire event, instead of the deceptively edited clips featured on most “news” sites, will see that neither the President nor the Vice President “ambushed” Zelensky. The first 39 minutes of the meeting were unremarkable, with President Trump attempting to be cordial despite the Ukrainian president’s Marvel Comics costume and pugnacious comportment.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy broke one of the cardinal rules of diplomacy today: Never introduce a surprise in a high-stakes meeting. This principle is sacrosanct among leaders, particularly when navigating complex international relationships. Yet, Zelenskyy employed a risky gambit, attempting to leverage media influence to strengthen his negotiating position with the nation that has already provided his country with $183 billion in aid. At the outset of a press conference intended to pave the way for a formal agreement, Zelenskyy seized upon a reporter’s question

Well, well, well. The Democrats are trying to sell the narrative that there is a vast number of voters who regret voting for Trump, and indeed there is a poll here or there that supports that Narrative™. Pick your poison. All the way from Trump +9 to Trump -8. (Snip for chart)The problem is that many of these same polls led you to believe that Kamala Harris was going to win. In one of those "now it can be told" revelations after the election, it was even revealed that Kamala Harris' own internal polls never--not once--showed her pulling ahead.

Legendary actor and two-time Oscar winner Gene Hackman and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, were found dead Wednesday afternoon at their home in the Santa Fe Summit community northeast of the city. Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed shortly after midnight Thursday that the couple had passed away along with their dog. While Mendoza did not disclose a cause of death or specify when they might have died, he stated in an interview that there were no immediate signs of foul play. Immediate speculation centered around the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning, but a new report indicates that authorities are investigating their deaths as "suspicious."

The world is in flux. Our much-discussed national vibe shift suggests that Americans are beginning to feel the change, but it understates what’s happening by a very large margin. What we’re experiencing is of global significance: the dawn of a new era. Between 1989 and 1991, the Communist bloc collapsed. The United States stood bestride the world, history’s first truly global hegemon. Perhaps unsurprisingly in retrospect, that dominance wreaked havoc on our national psyche. The most popular idea of that moment, summarized in Francis Fukuyama’s provocative title, “The End of History,” shaped

Apple plans to open a new factory for artificial intelligence servers in Texas as part of a $500 billion investment in the U.S., the company said Monday. The U.S. technology giant said it would work with partners to launch a 250,000-square-foot server manufacturing facility in Houston to produce servers for Apple Intelligence, its AI personal assistant for iPhone, iPad and Mac computers. The new factory, which is slated to begin operations in 2026, will form part of a major investment plan Apple is committing to over the next four years.

It was hardly necessary to consult the Delphic Oracle to learn that the Department of Government Efficiency was destined to be extremely unpopular with federal bureaucrats. Nor was it difficult to predict that their collective response would be clueless and hopelessly inept. Nonetheless, even the most cynical observer of bureaucratic bumbling will be taken aback by an amateurish website called “We the Builders.” It was created to provide a space for anonymous government apparatchiks to whine about the depredations of DOGE, which the main page describes thus: “They are destroyers.”

Last month, Bryan Kohberger's attorneys attempted to have all of the evidence against him in his murder trial thrown out on the grounds that he was identified thanks to genetic genealogy techniques which were used without proper warrants.DNA was found at the scene on the sheath of a knife which was discovered under one of the victim's bodies. The FBI took that DNA and compared it to DNA on some publicly available database and found a familial match which directed them to Kohberger. Subsequently, they tracked his movements as he drove to his families home in Pennsylvania where they took trash

On Wednesday morning, in a 5-4 emergency decision, the Supreme Court upheld a decision from U.S. District Judge Amir Ali that essentially says that Donald Trump can't withhold $2 billion in USAID money from existing contractors. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett sided with the three liberal members of the court. Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh voted in favor of Trump, with Justice Alito writing the lengthy dissent that begins with: Does a single district-court judge who likely lacks jurisdiction have the unchecked power to compel the Government of the United States to pay out (and probably lose forever) 2 billion taxpayer

Crying poor. Hunter Biden has asked a federal judge to drop the laptop hacking lawsuit he slapped against a former Trump White House aide — because he’s “millions of dollars” in debt, “exacerbated” by losing a home in the Los Angeles wildfires, court filings show. The embattled former first son, 55, blamed the recent fires, as well as dwindling sales from his artwork and memoir, for him being plagued by “significant debt” keeping him from “litigating this case” against Garrett Ziegler, according to a motion filed in federal court in California on Wednesday.

During Donald Trump's big speech on Tuesday night, the Democrats proved more than ever that they hate this country and do not wish to see it succeed. They refused to clap for common sense things like lowering taxes and removing dangerous criminals from the streets. Even worse, they failed to applaud for everyone from the mothers of young girls who were brutally murdered to foster dads and foster children. But one of the most disgusting moments of the evening came when they refused to acknowledge a young boy with brain cancer for something that was about as far from partisan as you can get.

If you watched Trump’s speech to a joint session of Congress Tuesday evening, you know that Democrats behaved like children, and Rep. Speaking to reporters after the incident, Green doubled down on his disruptive behavior and, of course, defended his childish actions. “The president said he had a mandate, and I was making it clear to the president that he has no mandate to cut Medicaid,” Green said. “I have people who are very fearful. The Biden presidency might have been the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the American people. A shocking investigation by the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project has revealed that virtually every document bearing Joe Biden's signature during his presidency was signed by an autopen — except for one. What makes this revelation particularly damning is that the only document confirmed to have Biden's actual signature was his letter announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race. Let that sink in for a moment. Remember when House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) revealed his discussion with Biden when Biden couldn't recall signing the executive order halting LNG exports?

During the final months of the Biden administration, the National Institutes of Health awarded $28 million to a mysterious venture-backed company called Vaccine Company Inc., a biomedical firm founded in 2022 whose chief financial officer happens to be one of former president Joe Biden’s top COVID advisers. Vaccine Company has left virtually no public footprint showing what it has done with the taxpayer funds, which the Biden administration doled out to a seemingly random post office box in Bethesda, Maryland. Cairo—The Hamas militant group on Thursday brushed off President Donald Trump’s latest threat and reiterated that it will only free the remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for a lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Hamas accused Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to back out of the ceasefire agreement they reached in January. The agreement calls for negotiations over a second phase in which the hostages would be released in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Hamas spokesman Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua said the “best path to free the remaining Israeli hostages” is through negotiations on that phase, which were supposed to begin

As a lifelong Democrat, I never imagined I would watch my own party embarrass itself so thoroughly — and so publicly — as it did during Tuesday’s joint session of Congress. From obnoxious booing to childish protest signs to a sitting member of Congress having to be physically removed from the chamber, Democrats turned what should have been a solemn, dignified event into a bad reality show. And for what? To go viral on TikTok? To book a slot on MSNBC to brag about their “resistance”? Nothing was more disgraceful than when my colleagues refused to stand or clap when 13-year-old DJ Daniel, a brain-cancer survivor, was made an honorary Secret Service agent.
