I am assigned the role of being the dour critic of speeches and debates, but this time I can't find a bad thing to say about Donald Trump's speech last night. Not one damn thing. It was quite literally the best speech before Congress ever, and that is saying a lot. I watched all Reagan's SOTU speeches, and they were great. But Trump really took these speeches to a new level by avoiding the "laundry list" approach to SOTU speeches and instead leaned into a different Reagan innovation: telling the American story through focusing on ordinary Americans and what brings us together.

"Which brings us to the other major feature of the night. Democrats, who decided that anything related to Trump in any way is evil, sat on their hands as the rest of America cheered and teared up for a brave young man. " The Dems stand for nothing. And I mean that literally. And I mean "literally", literally." And the stand for nothing figuratively, too.

He hadn't even walked in when I was thinking, "This is going to be one of those events where you look back at it afterward as such a great time. Focus!" Along came a kind and intelligent face and a red hot speech. I was nostalgic for it before it even happened.

Wow, Strom must have been living under a rock during Trump's first four years in office. This SOTU address was very similar to the others Trump gave!

Governor Gavin Newsom diverged from the Democratic Party’s commitment to let transgender-identifying male athletes participate in female sports this week when he acknowledged that it was “deeply unfair” for women. “I think it’s an issue of fairness, I completely agree with you on that. It is an issue of fairness — it’s deeply unfair,” the California Democrat said in the first episode of his new podcast. “I am not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you.” Newsom made the shocking admission while speaking with conservative influencer Charlie Kirk

President Donald Trump said in a social media post that he will issue an exemption on tariffs for most goods coming into the U.S. from Mexico, after putting in place sweeping 25% tariffs on Tuesday. The exemption would apply to goods compliant with the North American free trade agreement reached during Trump’s first term, and will last for one month, Trump posted after speaking with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. Trump didn't say whether that exemption would also apply to goods from Canada that complied with the trade deal.

The DC Circuit Court of Appeals has allowed President Trump to re-fire Special Counsel Hampton Dellinger pending the disposition of Dellinger's lawsuit for reinstatement. This is a very important decision as it overturns the order by District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson forcing the Trump administration to reinstate Dellinger (DC Circuit Court Judge Orders OMB, Treasury to Reinstate Legally Protected Official Who Trump Fired – RedState). The backstory is that Dellinger, according to statute, can only be removed from office “for inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office.” Trump fired Dellinger using a recent Supreme Court precedent as the rationale. Shortly after being reinstated, Dellinger began waging

US President Donald Trump issues a new ultimatum to Hamas to immediately release all remaining hostages or be destroyed. “‘Shalom Hamas’ means Hello and Goodbye – You can choose,” Trump writes on Truth Social. “Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you,” he says. “Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted!” “I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say,” he warns.

Where do we go? Where do we go now? Where do we go? —Axl Rose, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” The Democratic base is frustrated and demoralized. Ever since President Roomba Biden meandered aimlessly (and mindlessly) in his one and only presidential debate, it’s been one horror show after another. (And not even a good horror show, like those classic “Friday the 13th” movies — I’m talking the bad ones that don’t even respect the viewer enough to include gratuitous nudity.) Oh, by the way: Biden Roomba’d across the debate stage on June 27, 2024. That was 250-plus days ago! At this point, the Dems are quickly approaching a yearlong losing streak.

My own insight about woke revolutions is that they happen most intensely in places that need them the least. That's not to say anyone really needs them, but if in theory someone did it wouldn't be far left enclaves where these woke uprisings regularly happen. It's not a coincidence that the first big woke uprising most people became aware of happened at the most progressive college campus in Washington state (Evergreen State College). More recently, it explains why Columbia University is the site of building takeovers by masked, pro-Hamas students rather than some less progressive institution. Why are so many left-wing advocacy groups struggling internally

The U.S. has paused intelligence sharing with Ukraine alongside military aid to pressure its government into cooperating with the Trump administration’s negotiations to end the war against Russia. CIA Director John Ratcliffe appeared on Fox Business Wednesday and said the Trump administration would likely resume sharing intelligence with Ukraine after Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky’s Tuesday statement expressing openness to peace talks. “President Zelensky put out a statement that said, ‘I am ready for peace and I want President Donald Trump’s leadership to bring about that peace,'”

As predicted, the meltdowns Democrats were having prior to President Donald Trump giving his joint address to Congress Tuesday night carried over into the speech itself, with ping pong paddles containing anti-Trump messaging being flashed, "feminist" Democrats wearing pink with political messaging on it, and repeated interruptions of Trump's speech happening in its first few minutes. In one of the more dramatic moments, Rep. Al Green (D-TX), who was the first Congressman in this session to declare on the House floor his intentions to try and have Trump impeached, was escorted out by the House Sergeant in Arms at the direction of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) after repeated interruptions

During Donald Trump's big speech on Tuesday night, the Democrats proved more than ever that they hate this country and do not wish to see it succeed. They refused to clap for common sense things like lowering taxes and removing dangerous criminals from the streets. Even worse, they failed to applaud for everyone from the mothers of young girls who were brutally murdered to foster dads and foster children. But one of the most disgusting moments of the evening came when they refused to acknowledge a young boy with brain cancer for something that was about as far from partisan as you can get.

President Trump laid out an ambitious plan on Tuesday night to forge a new American economy with sweeping tax cuts and regulatory relief for domestic production while imposing tariffs on products made outside of the U.S. Trump detailed far-reaching plans to revitalize American manufacturing by cutting taxes on companies that produce goods in the U.S., allowing capital investments to be immediately expensed, extending interest rate tax deductions to include auto loans of American-made cars, and levying reciprocal tariffs on countries that impose tariffs on U.S. goods and protective tariffs on strategic commodities. “We are going to rediscover the unstoppable power of the American spirit,”

Crying poor. Hunter Biden has asked a federal judge to drop the laptop hacking lawsuit he slapped against a former Trump White House aide — because he’s “millions of dollars” in debt, “exacerbated” by losing a home in the Los Angeles wildfires, court filings show. The embattled former first son, 55, blamed the recent fires, as well as dwindling sales from his artwork and memoir, for him being plagued by “significant debt” keeping him from “litigating this case” against Garrett Ziegler, according to a motion filed in federal court in California on Wednesday.

The Biden presidency might have been the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the American people. A shocking investigation by the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project has revealed that virtually every document bearing Joe Biden's signature during his presidency was signed by an autopen — except for one. What makes this revelation particularly damning is that the only document confirmed to have Biden's actual signature was his letter announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race. Let that sink in for a moment. Remember when House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) revealed his discussion with Biden when Biden couldn't recall signing the executive order halting LNG exports?

Cairo—The Hamas militant group on Thursday brushed off President Donald Trump’s latest threat and reiterated that it will only free the remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for a lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Hamas accused Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to back out of the ceasefire agreement they reached in January. The agreement calls for negotiations over a second phase in which the hostages would be released in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Hamas spokesman Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua said the “best path to free the remaining Israeli hostages” is through negotiations on that phase, which were supposed to begin

From obnoxious booing to childish protest signs to a sitting member of Congress having to be physically removed from the chamber, Democrats turned what should have been a solemn, dignified event into a bad reality show. And for what? To go viral on TikTok? To book a slot on MSNBC to brag about their “resistance”? Nothing was more disgraceful than when my colleagues refused to stand or clap when 13-year-old DJ Daniel, a brain-cancer survivor, was made an honorary Secret Service agent.
