Less than a week ago, readers might recall that Special Counsel Jack Smith announced his retirement from the Justice Department (DOJ)--as we noted, heading out the door before Trump could fire him. After that news made the rounds, Missouri GOP Senator Eric Schmitt reacted to it by not only sharing his thoughts on Smith's undistinguished tenure, but blasted the lawfare that happened during his time at the DOJ. That was only a harbinger of more troubles for the Biden administration's laxness in doing its job. On Friday, Sen. Schmitt is now ringing the warning bells about what he describes as an "unprecedented hack of sensitive FBI information"

It’s been a rather busy week in Florida news. Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that Attorney General Ashley Moody was replacing Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who is expected to be confirmed as President-elect Donald Trump’s Secretary of State. James Uthemier has also been named as Moody’s replacement. And, a special legislative session was called at the start this week, to take place on January 27. Not only are lawmakers to look into illegal immigration, but petition fraud as well.Last November, Amendment 3, which would have legalized recreational marijuana in the state, and Amendment 4, which would have allowed for unlimited abortions in the state, both enjoyed a majority support.

Liberals claim that they care about other people, but the real mark of liberal governments is how little they care about their own people. [SNIP] As Canadians grapple with astronomical grocery prices, troublingly high numbers of people are flocking to food banks to feed their families. Last March alone, two million Canadians visited food banks—a staggering 90 per cent increase from 2019—and the most recent figures estimate that 12,000 new users access them every month. In the final weeks of any presidential administration, the assessments of their time in office - and their political legacy - pick up apace, with everyone wanting to give their opinions on where they went wrong and where they went right, how they stack up against past presidents, etc.

"It will take time to feel the full impact of all that my Administration has done," Presidentish Joe Biden claimed in Wednesday night's farewell address to the nation. "The seeds we planted will grow and bloom for decades to come."
I'm afraid he's right, for once.
"Cancer. He's describing cancer," Dan Franck quipped on X in response — and it's already begun to metastasize. Biden came into office promising — and then delivering — a spending and regulatory spree that made Barack "Mr. Stimulus and Obamacare" Obama look as parsimonious as John Adams. Journalist Matt Taibbi spoke to Brian Kilmeade about Mark Zuckerberg coming out against government censorship of social media and revealing the pressure he faced from the Biden administration to censor content on Facebook and Instagram.
"On the whole, it is a net positive," Taibbi said. "Zuckerberg coming out and saying all this confirms a lot of what I reported and a lot of the information that came out from Jim Jordan's committee investigation into the Facebook Files. Even if it is not 100% sincere, it confirms some things and suggests that maybe these tech companies are afraid to continue doing this kind of thing."

The Democrat Party of my youth was pro-labor, pro-God, pro-family and pro-America. The Democrat Party of today bears little resemblance to that party. Too often, today’s Democrat Party uses dangerous, violent rhetoric to attack others, weaponizes the power of government against political opposition and pushes radical, extremist leftist ideologies. A closer look at today’s Democrat party is in order:
The modern Democrat Party uses State and Federal law enforcement to overtly and blatantly attack its political opponents. These attacks are not limited to President Trump or the Trump Organization, though he is a frequent target.

Pastor Brandon Biggs, who gained nationwide attention after accurately predicting the assassination attempt on Donald Trump months before it occurred, has sounded the alarm once again.
This time, the stakes are even higher, as he claims to have received visions of a sprawling, orchestrated attack targeting Trump, his properties, and key U.S. landmarks.
Biggs first gained attention when his detailed vision of an attempt on Trump’s life came true, as previously reported by The Gateway Pundit.
Biggs, at the 11-minute mark of the video, posted three months before Trump’s assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, said, ” I saw Trump rising up, and then I saw an attempt on his life.

Democrats are likely to delay the confirmation of Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth until after President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday, leaving the Pentagon without a confirmed leader, according to Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) chairman Roger Wicker (R-MS).
Wicker told Politico Thursday that although Hegseth has the votes to be confirmed as defense secretary, Democrats are likely to drag it out as long as possible, until as late as Thursday. “I expect our Democratic friends will delay it to the extent to which they are free to do under the rules. Wednesday, Thursday perhaps,” Wicker told the outlet.

Remember the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA)? It’s back, and Old Joe Biden, trying to do as much damage to the nation as he can before he slouches off to his taxpayer-funded Delaware beach house for good on Monday, now says that it’s the law of the land. What’s that? You didn’t notice that we suddenly have a new Constitutional amendment? Well, we may not, but on Friday, Old Joe’s joyful announcement that the amendment was a done deal added an eggbeater to already troubled waters.

At a news conference Monday morning, Willis accused Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts along with the rest of the Board of Commissioners of not "doing their job" allocating the budget better.
Willis insisted that in order to adequately perform her duties, she needs more money to hire additional staff.

Noem is the Governor of South Dakota, a position she has held since 2019. Before that, Noem was a popular US House of Representatives member.
While Noem’s questioning has been far more professional compared to that of Defense Secretary Nominee Pete Hegseth and Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi, Senator Andy Kim (D-N.J.) proved completely unprepared for questioning and was promptly embarrassed.

The US Supreme Court unanimously upheld a law Friday that would force TikTok’s sale from a Chinese state-owned firm, even as President Biden and President-elect Donald Trump have sought to block the divestment.
The nine justices ordered the qualified divestment by Jan. 19 of the California-based social media platform from Beijing-based ByteDance.
“There is no doubt that, for more than 170 million Americans, TikTok offers a distinctive and expansive outlet for expression, means of engagement, and source of community,” read the key portion of the unsigned opinion.
“But Congress has determined that divestiture is necessary to address its well-supported national security concerns regarding TikTok’s data collection practices and relationship with a foreign adversary,”

Black Lives Matter activists are now demanding that the store stay open or that another low-cost food store take its place.

President Joe Biden on Jan. 17 announced he has ratified the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), despite the U.S. archivist recently saying the president could not ratify the constitutional amendment.(snip)
The U.S. archivist and U.S. deputy archivist said in late 2024 that the president could not ratify the amendment because the amendment did not receive the required support from three-fourths of the states by the deadline Congress imposed, which was June 30, 1982.
The Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel in 2020, while Donald Trump was president, and in 2022, after Biden took office, also said that ratification cannot occur unless Congress or the courts extend or remove the ratification deadline.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Friday delivered a blow to TikTok by upholding a law that could potentially lead to the video-sharing social media platform being banned in the United States.
The justices in an unsigned opinion with no dissents rejected a free speech challenge filed by the company, meaning the law is set to go into effect on Sunday as planned. The bipartisan law requires China-based TikTok owner ByteDance to divest itself of the company by Sunday, the day before President-elect Donald Trump is to take office. If no sale takes place, the platform used by millions of Americans will in theory be banned.

The Israeli security cabinet has officially approved the long-awaited cease-fire deal with Hamas, putting a pause to the fighting in Gaza and allowing for the release of dozens of hostages held captive by the terrorist group for 15 months.
The 11 voting members of the security cabinet approved the deal with a simple majority vote, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
The full, 33-member Israeli cabinet will meet to approve the agreement at 3:30 p.m. local time (8:30 a.m. ET).
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet and the Israeli government accepted the peace agreement after negotiators for the Jewish state and Hamas signed off on the deal.

Can Israel trust a leader like Ramaswamy? It’s too early to judge. Certainly, Vivek has made it clear that he will stand with Donald Trump on nearly every issue. However, Vivek is also a strong isolationist. Is that what Donald Trump is too? Not necessarily. In many ways, Donald Trump has made it clear that he is very much NOT an isolationist. He is totally against non-ending wars. But he certainly sees the USA as the country that needs to make sure that no regional conflicts spiral out of control and turn into world wars. The decision by the Israeli government to make significant concessions to the Hamas kidnappers should never be called a "deal." It was an extortion.... The kidnapping was a crime. And the extortionate demand was an additional crime.
When a terrorist group "negotiates" with a democracy, it always has the upper hand. The terrorists are not constrained by morality, law or truth. They can murder at will, rape at will, torture at will and threaten to do worse. The democracy, on the other hand, must comply with the rules of law and must listen to the pleas of the hostage families.

(Snip) Like every other citizen, I wish the new President, and all who will labor with him, Godspeed. I pray that the coming years will be blessed with peace and prosperity for all.
The president obviously was not FJB but a far greater man—Eisenhower. When he said he served the nation for 50 years, he really did as he served in both world wars.
Eisenhower stayed in the military in between the wars when America’s military was at its lowest. He spent 16 years as a major.

Donald Trump and his attorney general will be bombarded with requests for pardons, reversals of course in legal cases, and other executive actions from the moment that Trump returns to the Oval Office. He should put clearing Dr. Eithan Haim near the top of his list. While he’s at it, that list should extend to nonviolent pro-life protesters and other targets of the ceaseless and indefensible culture war waged by the Justice Department under Merrick Garland. Some of those deserve pardons. Dr. Haim just needs the government to stop persecuting him.

Joe Biden just can’t seem to let go.
Although his presidency and his legacy have been thoroughly repudiated—whether it be through the polls, which show he’s one of the lowest-rates presidents of all time, or at the ballot box where his hand-picked successor Kamala Harris was brutalized in the November elections—his tenure has been thoroughly tainted by an astounding record of failure. Inflation has killed the dreams of regular folks as just paying for groceries has become a traumatic experience; young people have no hope of buying a home or living the American Dream—considering the crushing interest rates and noxious cost of living. Meanwhile, wars rage on the international stage.

"Today’s clemency action provides relief for individuals who received lengthy sentences based on discredited distinctions between crack and powder cocaine, as well as outdated sentencing enhancements for drug crimes," he said.

It's such a great thing listening to all the final remarks and ceremonies of the Biden team. It's the countdown of a really bad time in the life of the country with a bright light on the other end coming on January 20. One of my favorite things so far is how despondent Jill Biden appears, now that they will be out of power.
It's so humorous that Biden's Department of Defense even gave him and Jill "Distinguished Public Service" medals so they could feel like they did something. Nothing says Soviet Union-like but awarding yourself a medal.

The failure of progressive leadership has been exposed in a way that it has never been before as disastrous wildfires wipe out entire neighborhoods in deep-blue Los Angeles, a result not only of natural forces like unusually high winds and dry conditions but by the epic breakdown of any real leadership in the Golden State and the misplaced priorities of elected officials like LA Mayor Karen Bass and camera-addicted Gov. Such arrogant and hypocritical remarks should be met with scorn by all those who languished under the program of social media censorship for the previous four years — a program largely forced on tech companies by the Biden White House, as an example of the very kind of merging of government and corporate power Biden now claims to oppose.
