Pam Bondi and the J6 Defendants

Pam Bondi’s first confirmation hearing will likely ensure her confirmation by the U.S. Senate, but one exchange on Wednesday created or added to a controversy among MAGA-supporters and especially the community of January 6 defendants along with their families, friends, and supporters on principle. The former attorney general of Florida is well qualified to be attorney general in the Trump administration. But Bondi’s confirmation hearing testimony let slip the mood from within the Trump transition team. The controversy of the hour is whether Trump should pardon some January 6 defendants but not all. Bondi strongly endorsed the idea that anyone “accused”

FTA: So how can we fix this? The only thing anyone can do now is apply the same standard to January 6 as the corrupt Merrick Garland DOJ applied to Antifa and leftist street gangs. But if Pam Bondi reviews the files, I hope the review includes disciplinary reviews of the DOJ prosecutors involved. Yes!

A case-by-case basis could take months, even years. I worry about what living and working in the Washington, DC swamp will do to Pam Bondi. I haven't forgotten about the George Zimmerman case. Time will tell.

I watched only a small amount of her opening day and heard her answer on the J6ers and how she condemns all violence against law enforcement. Well, I'm not so sure of her. Maybe she said what she had to say to be confirmed, but this back the blue 100% no matter what is garbage. The US Capitol Police, of all federal law enforcement, is the lest professional, skilled, etc. They're basically a cheaper version of the Secret Service protecting members of Congress and giving directions to tourists. How any professional law enforcement agency could have been so unprepared on 1/6/2021, regardless of former Chief Sund's assertions that Pelosi refused his call for help, belies the fact that they used bicycle racks as fencing. Gimme a break. You have video of USCP officers waving in people, oops, insurrectionists, into the Capitol or just standing there as they walked in. Then you have those USCP thugs who fired gas grenades right at (not above) protesters, er, insurrectionists, so unprofessional and dangerous which resulted in Ms. Boyland's death. And of course, Lt Michael Byrd - he misused his authority and murdered a woman who was not a threat to him or any member of Congress in cold blood and has been rewarded. So yeah, Pam, you go on and sing the praises of our men and women in blue because they're all above reproach unless you are Derek Chauvin and you are sacrificed for a POS black druggie criminal. Hearing some of the confirmation testimony, like Zeldin for EPA, Bondi, and some others - I'm not as hopeful about the second term of Trump.

You cannot go into the hearing for appointment as AG and make a blanket statement that you will pardon people who attacked police. Case by case evaluation of those accused of violent behavior is not unreasonable. The proof will be in the execution. With PDJT overseeing her I am not that alarmed.

They were put in jail for just being in DC on Jan 6. They were not given a trial. Some were tortured. They should be released as soon as possible.. The Capital policeman who shot and killed Ashley B. should be put in trial for murder. Need I go on?

One week before the presidential inauguration, Jack Smith issued a “Final Report” concerning the January 6th prosecution of Donald Trump and his co-defendants. Presumably, the report is supposed to convince the public that Trump is guilty as charged. Instead, it provides evidence of Smith’s incompetence and bias. Trump’s attorneys, John Lauro and Todd Blanche, issued a strong rebuttal (Addendum to Final Report) that excoriates this “out-of-control private citizen” for spending more than $20 million to violate “fundamental norms regarding the presumption of innocence

Attorney General nominee laid waste to Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) during her Senate confirmation hearing. Padilla employed the same line of questioning as many of his colleagues who sought to relitigate the fallout of the 2020 presidential election and President-elect Donald Trump’s claims that it was stolen via voter fraud. He asked whether Bondi would retract her claim that Trump won in Pennsylvania. The nominee began her answer by saying she “traveled to Pennsylvania, and let me tell you what I saw firsthand.” Padilla did not bother to let her finish, pushing her to simply answer “yes” or “no.”

Where is Glenn Kessler, the person posing as a fact checker for The Washington Post, when you need him? Before publishing a claim that Joe Biden has left a “remarkable legacy” on the public health sector, shouldn’t we at least analyze his results? Here’s this, from an article at the paper last Thursday: Biden leaves behind a remarkable legacy in public health History will remember Biden for his aggressive actions against covid-19, most notably for his part in a mass vaccination campaign that saved an estimated 3.2 million Americans in two years. But his work on health matters went far beyond the coronavirus pandemic.

On Joe Biden’s first day in office in January 2021, he signed seventeen executive orders. These orders are notorious and remained controversial throughout his term in office. They included such measures as stopping the Keystone Pipeline — an order that was blamed for rising gasoline prices throughout Biden’s term (the real cause of such price increases was the Biden administration’s massive spending sprees, but the pipeline shutdown made the situation worse). Other Biden orders on that first day included renewed environmentalist-extremist measures such as rejoining the “Paris Accords” (wildfires continue unabated despite this order).

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ political career is likely over after these fires in the county are contained and extinguished. She has zero chance of being re-elected if she’s not recalled first. Peter Hamby of Puck News, a Los Angeles resident, penned a damning story that took shots at everyone, from the social media folks who he claims are spreading misinformation to Elon Musk for trying to bait firefighters into saying there was no water available. Hamby contends there was enough water, though the blaze's size made combating it ineffective. We’ll leave you to debate that in the comments section below.

In January 2025, wildfires devastated Los Angeles County. While not every detail is yet known – and some details will likely never be known – these fires have destroyed entire communities, burned thousands of houses, schools, churches and businesses, killed and injured people and pets. The losses in physical structure can be counted; the losses in dollar value can only be guessed at. Property insurance figures estimate the value of a building, but the residents can never accurately estimate – and insure for – all the contents within.

The state's political leadership is at fault for the fiasco in Los Angeles County, where wildfires are raging.
