The Israeli security cabinet has officially approved the long-awaited cease-fire deal with Hamas, putting a pause to the fighting in Gaza and allowing for the release of dozens of hostages held captive by the terrorist group for 15 months.
The 11 voting members of the security cabinet approved the deal with a simple majority vote, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
The full, 33-member Israeli cabinet will meet to approve the agreement at 3:30 p.m. local time (8:30 a.m. ET).
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s security cabinet and the Israeli government accepted the peace agreement after negotiators for the Jewish state and Hamas signed off on the deal.

I'll be surprised if there are "dozens" (24 or more) of hostages still alive to be released. Have the Red Cross, Red Cresent (suspect), or UN verified the number of hostages that are alive? The cease-fire will soon be broken by Hamas. What Einstein said about insanity.

And how many jailed Muslims sitting in Israeli jails were released for each hostage? Betting the ratio was at least 100-1. Btw, does anyone know how overcrowded Israeli prisons are? I imagine Israel arrests tens of thousands of terrorists. As some point, they would have to remove some to make room for new terrorists. Israel needs a death penalty if they don't already have one.
The deal isn't worth much, but at least some hostages were released. Bet it wasn't all of them. Wonder if the released hostages were even housed in Gaza. Hundred percent certainty Hamas will conduct smaller acts of terrorism and Israel will retaliate regardless of the cease fire. It will take another large-scale attack to totally scrap the deal.
And the 'game' continues. Looks like Hamas will survive. Thought Israel would have successfully cleared Gaza. Who knows for certain though. This all come through the media filter. We only see what they want us to see.

The ceasefire is to last six weeks. What if Hamas actions during that time warrant resumption of hostilities or suspension of withdrawals. Will Israel have the political backing to do so? Under Biden the answer was assuredly no. It would have been like putting paste back in a tube. Would be interesting to find out what assurances Trump gave Bibi to get his assent in a single meeting.

The deal is releasing all Hamas hostages, 600 trucks a day in aid, Hamas remaining in power, and nothing changes. Trump should give Biden and Blinken full credit for this deal, and should have nothing to do with it.

Hamas did not take care of the hostages. If they are still alive, they are more than likely in very poor health. Do not trust them Netanyahu. At your peril. If Hamas is not entirely destroyed another 10/7 will be writ upon Israel. Make absolutely sure that Hamas is no more.

Counting down to Hamas violating the agreement... 5... 4... 3....

They apparently are not going to get all the hostages released. If this is true, this is a very bad deal.

The hostages will be freed (or, more than likely, most will just be bodies that will be recovered). Then Hamas will do another terrorist act -- since they are terrorists and can't help themselves. Israel will then go back to exterminating them, with no extra caution needed to avoid killing hostages. And the boots on the ground will get a much-needed break.
And, most importantly, President Trump comes off looking like the great world leader that he is.
Not a perfect deal, but, all in all, definitely not a bad one.

"long awaited" - by whom? Both sides anticipated it. Only Hamas wanted it, though. Israel is fed up with the repeated cycle of terrorism, remaining patient through repeated attacks, getting fed up and counter attacking, having counterattack stopped short of complete victory, allowing recovery, reorganization, and rearming for the next cycle to begin.
Again, stopped short of total victory, we now wait for the next Palestinian Jihadi terror attack against Israel.

Yet another one sided deal.
Either Israel is hopelessly inept at this kind of thing or they know that Hamas will break the ceasefire.
Probably the latter, I hope.
