In 2023 the state of Missouri passed a law banning gender-affirming care for minors. The law restricted the use of puberty blockers and gender-affirming surgeries.
Transgender minors and some adults in Missouri will soon be banned from accessing puberty blockers, hormones and gender-affirming surgeries under a bill signed Wednesday by the state’s Republican governor.
Beginning Aug. 28, Missouri health care providers won’t be able to prescribe those gender-affirming treatments for teens and children. Most adults will still have access to transgender health care under the law, but Medicaid won’t cover it.
Gender-affirming surgeries for inmates and prisoners will be outlawed.

Retiring President Biden playfully swiped a Hawaiian roll from a military buffet line Monday as Cyndi Lauper’s hit “Girl Just Want to Have Fun” blasted at a Coast Guard facility on Staten Island — before reclaiming a microphone to say “I’ve been fired.”
Biden, 82, gave a playful look to fellow buffet servers after snagging the snack and sneaking bites as he prepared to ladle out vegetables to service members and their families at the Coast Guard Sector New York.

Democratic National Committee workers are asking for charitable donations after making significant layoffs in a dramatic downsizing after Vice President Kamala Harris lost the election.
The pleas for donations sparked outrage on social media, as memories of the massive $1 billion Kamala Harris campaign spending spree were still fresh, including millions of dollars spent to host celebrity filled town halls for the vice president.
Two-thirds of DNC staffers were laid off as part of the downsizing on Wednesday, with only one day's notice and no severance, according to the union.

Most mortals are defined by one or two signature moments. Good or bad, win or lose, we get our 15 minutes of fame — and then we’re done. Take a bow; exit stage right.
But Donald Trump has lived three or four lifetimes… in just the past decade! No hyperbole: When 2014 began, Trump was filming season seven of “The Apprentice,” ordering around Gilbert Gottfried, Ian Ziering, and one of the Jonas brothers. Now, I don’t want to be dismissive of those (ahem) celebrity superstars (Ziering is the star of the “Sharknado” franchise, for crying out loud), but Trump’s career trajectory has taken him to far loftier heights than reality TV.

Alaskans can be a stubborn lot. In the election just passed, we restored Alaska's at-large seat in the U.S. House of Representatives to Republican control, electing Nick Begich III in a defeat for Democrat Mary Peltola. But the other issue that will have a big impact on Alaska's political scene was the repeal of ranked-choice voting (RCV) that failed by a whisker-thin 664 votes: 160,619 to 159,955, or 50.1% to 49.9%. That's pretty close. The Alaska Republican Party has requested a recount, which the Dhillon Law Group will oversee.

Trump secured 312 Electoral College votes in his comeback win to the White House, besting his 306 votes in 2016, when he stunned the nation in an upset victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Trump also won the popular vote, swept all seven battleground states, and made inroads among minority voters, puncturing the coalition of voters Democrats have long relied on to win elections.

We do not live in anything resembling the nation that was envisioned by our Founders, and for the first time in modern American history, we seem to have reached a consensus in recognizing that fact.
This was just dramatically evidenced in a presidential election, in which a broad coalition of voters from the political left and right voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump, who promised to create a “government efficiency commission” to be headed by Elon Musk.
How a “government efficiency commission” could become the emphatic demand of a populace that I watched vote for an unquestionable expansion of the federal government during the Obama years is a sobering thing.

As incredible and providential as Donald Trump’s election victory was, it’s hard not to shake the feeling that we’re living on borrowed time. By now, Democrats were supposed to be well on their way to solidifying a stranglehold on the American electorate, wielding their imagined “permanent Democratic majority” gained through entitlements, race hustling, and illegal immigration to ram through structural changes that would seal them in power forever. Instead, Republicans, with control of every branch of the federal government thanks to Trump’s magnificent run, have been gifted with one more bite at the apple. We squander this chance at our peril.

It wasn’t that long ago that I was typing the words “Kamala Harris” dozens of times a day. Then suddenly… it stopped. Elections had consequences for my keyboard. Her name has still been in the news, mostly because her campaign is still trying to collect money even after raking in over one billion dollars during election season. Just to show you how great she would have been on the economy, she somehow ended up millions in debt.
Mostly, however, she’s been pretty silent—and now we know why. Like he ever-vacationing boss Joe Biden, Harris is taking some leisure time, though she’s not relaxing in Rehoboth Beach, she’s sunning in Hawaii.

Maybe Pfizer could concoct a vaccine to prevent the transmission of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). Or at least lessen its symptoms. That would actually benefit people, both here and abroad.
Case in point: filmmaker, producer, and actor Rob Reiner, AKA “Meathead,” recently found himself in the grip of a particularly debilitating bout with TDS.
Not long after Election Day, Reiner tweeted: “I’m finding it very hard to sleep these days. It is 3:15 am. I am laying awake dreading January 20th 2025.”
He subsequently added, “I have big decisions to make. For the good of myself, my family, and my country.” Really, oh self-important one, what decisions are those?

Do you remember the Trayvon Martin hoax? Trayvon Martin, the pot smoking, thug wannabe and burglar who one rainy night in Florida ambushed and tried to kill George Zimmerman? Trayvon Martin, the holy social justice martyr? The thug whom Barack Obama deified, saying if he had a son, he’d look like Trayvon Martin?
I remember. I was one of the few comprehensively covering the case, not only for PJ Media, but for my own blog. That case archive may be found here. I watched the entire trial and corresponded with Don West, one of the defense attorneys.

A Florida-based TikTok influencer was arrested after showing off goods she allegedly shoplifted from her local Target in a video posted to her over 300K followers.
Marlena Velez, 22, is facing petty theft charges for allegedly stealing more than $500 from the Target store in Cape Coral on Oct. 30, according to the Fort Myers News-Press.
The retail chain’s loss prevention team told the Cape Coral police that a shoplifter was allegedly caught on security camera at a self-checkout register, where they scanned a fake barcode that listed lower prices for the items in their cart.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a high-profile public figure worth a hoot who wasn’t accused, credibly or not, of some form of sexual impropriety during the #MeToo Maoist mini-Cultural Revolution that took the nation by storm a few years ago — sparing, curiously, some of the nation’s most prolific sexual abusers who happen, coincidentally, to have a (D) next to their name. At any rate, liberal media is consternated at the setback in “progress,” a euphemism by which they mean the political and social climate they manufactured wherein accusations, no matter how preposterous, are taken at face value because “believe all women.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law granting debt forgiveness to new army recruits who enlist to fight in Ukraine.
The measure, whose final version appeared on a government website Saturday, underscores Russia’s needs for military personnel in the nearly 3-year war, even as it fired last week a new intermediate-range ballistic missile.
According to Russian state news agency Interfax, the new legislation allows those signing up for a one-year contract to write off bad debts of up to 10 million rubles ($96,000). The law applies to debts for which a court order for collection was issued and enforcement proceedings had commenced before Dec. 1, 2024.

On Friday the defense rested in the Daniel Penny trial, leaving many observers to ask what Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was thinking in pursuing this case.
Over the course of the second-degree manslaughter trial, Bragg’s prosecutors tried to sell the narrative that the Marine vet overreacted and behaved “recklessly” when he restrained Jordan Neely on that F train back in May 2023. But a host of prosecution witnesses, Penny’s fellow passengers, knocked massive holes in that tale, as one after another veteran subway rider described how terror-stricken they were trapped on the train car with the angry, unstable, threatening Neely.

They’re the two hardest hitting heavyweights on the Republican bench. You can almost sense them eyeing each other from afar, apprising one another “just in case.” Because, in full-contact politics, “just in case” will be here sooner than you think. In one corner, at the tender age of 40, is JD Vance. He’s a military veteran who was deployed in Iraq, graduated from Yale, has three children, and had a meteoric rise to the top of the ranks of the GOP.
In the other corner, at the tender age of 46, is Ron DeSantis. He’s a military veteran who was deployed in Iraq, graduated from Yale, has three children,

Interesting that none of the Europeans saw this outcome looming, which is likely why Samantha Power and her USAID/CIA election operation was not present for round #1. Unfortunately, it should be expected that team USA will quickly react and dispatch assistants to help recover in round #2. Make Romania Great Again candidate Călin Georgescu came out of nowhere and has won the first round in the presidential election.
Georgescu campaigned on an anti-EU, anti-NATO and anti-war with Russia platform; simultaneously supporting domestic farmers, domestic energy production and advocating for a Romania that is free from foreign influence.

So now we know that the cop who shot dead unarmed Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, 36, during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot was rewarded with a promotion and a $36,000 bonus.
There were no ill consequences for his rash actions that day. Instead, Capt. Michael Byrd, 56, was held up as a hero of democracy, despite the fact that he had a lengthy disciplinary record that includes leaving his loaded handgun in a public bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center, “improperly” firing his gun at a car near his home while off-duty and abusing a Maryland cop who tried to stop him -

Yet Democrat politicians, both federal and local, vie to be the most strident in denouncing his plans to begin deporting millions of foreign nationals who, over the last four years, have entered the U.S. illegally. Trump pledges to focus initially only on the 400,000 to 500,000 current felons and some 1.4 million additional aliens who have ignored legal summons for their deportation. Weekly we read of thousands of illegal immigrants arriving from areas controlled by violent Mexican cartel gangs or failed, strife-torn South American countries that have emptied their jails to send their felons northwards.

Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma placed a hold on the promotion of Lt. Gen. Christopher Donahue that would have elevated him to lead U.S. Army forces in Europe.
Donahue is currently a three-star general who was nominated to become a four-star general by President Joe Biden earlier this month. Donahue was one of the top military officials overseeing the disastrous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
Mullin, who was serving in the House of Representatives at the time of the withdrawal, tried to lead his own outside efforts to extract Americans from Afghanistan, but was repeatedly stymied by the State Department and the Pentagon.

I remember the Star Trek: Next Generation series with Captain Jon-Luc Picard as the commander of the US Starship Enterprise. One of the belligerent antagonists in the series was The Borg—a sort of cyber-human entity. The Borg assimilated individuals and made them part of the "collective." Hmm, sounds like progressive socialists. When someone would attempt to resist assimilation, they would say, "You will assimilate; resistance is futile." Well, I would like to take that phrase and turn it against the progressive socialist Marxist leftists in America. Their weak and imbecilic resistance to the incoming Trump administration is not just futile, but it is also stupid...actually stuck on stupid.

President Trump will remove transgender servicemembers from the military by executive order on day one of his presidency.
“The ban is expected to be wider ranging than a similar order made during his first term in office, when Trump prevented transgender people joining the armed forces, but allowed those already serving to keep their jobs. President Biden rescinded the order, but this time even those with decades of service will be removed from their posts, according to several sources,” The Times reported.

Leftists who were part of the so-called “Resistance” movement against President-elect Donald Trump in 2016 are now facing a “disillusionment with activism” after the Republican won again this November, political scientists and organizers have realized.
In a Sunday report titled “The Resistance goes quiet,” Axios aimed to explain why the left wing has not erupted into widespread protests like what occurred when Trump beat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton eight years ago. Lisa Mueller, a political science professor at Macalester College, said female Democrat voters are more disappointed than shocked this time around.
