Republican Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma placed a hold on the promotion of Lt. Gen. Christopher Donahue that would have elevated him to lead U.S. Army forces in Europe.
Donahue is currently a three-star general who was nominated to become a four-star general by President Joe Biden earlier this month. Donahue was one of the top military officials overseeing the disastrous withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan.
Mullin, who was serving in the House of Representatives at the time of the withdrawal, tried to lead his own outside efforts to extract Americans from Afghanistan, but was repeatedly stymied by the State Department and the Pentagon.

I remember the Star Trek: Next Generation series with Captain Jon-Luc Picard as the commander of the US Starship Enterprise. One of the belligerent antagonists in the series was The Borg—a sort of cyber-human entity. The Borg assimilated individuals and made them part of the "collective." Hmm, sounds like progressive socialists. When someone would attempt to resist assimilation, they would say, "You will assimilate; resistance is futile." Well, I would like to take that phrase and turn it against the progressive socialist Marxist leftists in America. Their weak and imbecilic resistance to the incoming Trump administration is not just futile, but it is also stupid...actually stuck on stupid.

President Trump will remove transgender servicemembers from the military by executive order on day one of his presidency.
“The ban is expected to be wider ranging than a similar order made during his first term in office, when Trump prevented transgender people joining the armed forces, but allowed those already serving to keep their jobs. President Biden rescinded the order, but this time even those with decades of service will be removed from their posts, according to several sources,” The Times reported.

Leftists who were part of the so-called “Resistance” movement against President-elect Donald Trump in 2016 are now facing a “disillusionment with activism” after the Republican won again this November, political scientists and organizers have realized.
In a Sunday report titled “The Resistance goes quiet,” Axios aimed to explain why the left wing has not erupted into widespread protests like what occurred when Trump beat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton eight years ago. Lisa Mueller, a political science professor at Macalester College, said female Democrat voters are more disappointed than shocked this time around.

Ex-Florida congressman and onetime US Attorney General hopeful Matt Gaetz has launched a Cameo account, where he is raking in cash by cutting videos for the public.
The far-right pol, accused in a sex scandal, was charging $525+ a pop as of 3 p.m. Sunday and enjoying a five-star rating on the platform, where users can pay for videos from famous celebrities.
“Now listen, I may not be the Attorney General, the most powerful law enforcement officer in the land — for now,” said the GOP former rep in a message on the platform — following in the footsteps of fellow Cameo celeb and lying Long Island ex-Congressman George Santos (R-NY).

President Joe Biden jokingly urged a roomful of Democratic donors and insiders not to jump in the White House pool at a weekend dinner to thank them before he leaves office.
But some attendees still felt all wet after the election.
“Good evening everyone . . . If you have a seat, please take it. Don’t jump in the pool!” Biden said to laughs at the tented black-tie soiree on the White House South Lawn, where the pool and fountain are located.
“[First Lady] Jill [Biden] and I are hosting this dinner tonight for a very simple reason — to say thank you. Thank you to so many dear friends,” he added,

After President-elect Donald Trump won the election, the Biden-Harris State Department is under fire for hosting in-house therapy sessions for employees. A Free Beacon report found that outgoing Secretary of State Antony Blinken spent federal money on at least two sessions, which a source described as a "cry session” for people to deal with Vice President Kamala Harris’ loss. In a letter to Blinken, Republican Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) expressed concern that the State Department was coddling its employees even though their preferred candidate did not win the election.
“I am concerned that the Department is catering to federal employees who are personally devastated

Podcaster Joe Rogan has accused President Biden and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky of trying to “start World War III.”
Rogan on Friday slammed Biden for recently approving the Ukrainian president’s request to use US-made long-range missiles against Russia to fight off the Kremlin’s invasion.

“How are you allowed to do that Zelensky, whose country was invaded by Moscow in 2022, has long pleaded for approval to use US-supplied Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) to attack targets in Russia

Washington State’s Attorney General Bob Ferguson once joked about the Trump administration’s many legal missteps when making policy during his first term in office, asking his team, “Do you guys think a lawyer looked at this?” As President-elect Donald Trump gears up for another term, Ferguson isn’t laughing anymore, and neither are Democratic officials in blue states, according to a New York Times report.
There is a growing sense of apprehension among Democratic leaders related to their ability to challenge Trump’s policies this time around. Unlike his first administration, where procedural missteps made it easier for Democrats to successfully challenge his order, Trump appears better prepared.

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a 7-minute speech Thursday and explained that Russia used a new medium-range missile with a hypersonic payload in its strike on Ukraine. It was essentially a test that worked perfectly.
As part of what Putin called a “combat test,” the hypersonic missile, dubbed Hazel, successfully struck a military-industrial facility in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, the Russian president added.
The strike was a response to Ukrainian attacks on military facilities located on internationally recognized Russian territory, the president stated. Kiev’s forces launched the strikes on Tuesday and Thursday, using US-made ATACMS and HIMARS systems as well as British-made Storm Shadow missiles, he said.

President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Pam Bondi for attorney general has caused quite a stir, especially among folks on the left who fear that the incoming administration will target Justice Department officials who participated in the politically motivated efforts to prosecute Trump. If current signs are any indication, they have every reason to be afraid.
During an interview with Fox News last year, Bondi said that if Trump wins the election, “The Department of Justice, the prosecutors will be prosecuted, the bad ones.”
Bondi accused the officials of being part of a “deep state” conspiracy,
