‘Shell-shocked’ Democrats struggle

As they continue to reel from President-elect Donald Trump‘s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, dejected Democrats have not mustered up the same resistance to Trump’s second term as eight years ago. Trump secured 312 Electoral College votes in his comeback win to the White House, besting his 306 votes in 2016, when he stunned the nation in an upset victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Trump also won the popular vote, swept all seven battleground states, and made inroads among minority voters, puncturing the coalition of voters Democrats have long relied on to win elections.

Resistance? Hey losers, MAGA and MAHA ARE the resistance. Woke ideology, climate insanity, economic irresponsibility, open borders, lawfare and political oppression, and the utter corruption of our government are the issues on which we won, overwhelmingly. So yeah, double down on your losing issues, put on your pussy hats, wave your pride flags and march with your fists raised high and screech at the top of your lungs. Resistance baby! Let's see how that works out for you. I'll be the guy laughing at you.

“What are the issues that we’re not addressing that they think that Trump will take care of?" You see, the dems don't even understand what issues the American people are concerned with. In fact, since Biden had made such a mess of things, they didn't want to talk about issues at all. The just wanted to be "joyful". And note, the dems have NO interest in addressing the issues we think are important. How do we know? Because they haven't for decades. All they will do is figure out what they have to bamboozle us about and do a better job than they did. Their thinking is, "Well, we don't know why Americans are concerned about 'this' and we as dems don't care about it, however, since Americans seem to be concerned about 'it' we have to speak as if we do understand and care about 'it'. After we are elected, we can forget about 'it'." The problem for dems is, they got away with their actions because their propaganda media covered for them. The propaganda media is dying. For the midterms and after, there will be people asking hard questions of dems who don't have meaningful answers. Further, the Deep State is about to go down in flames as well and that has been another source of support for dems. They could always find a Deep Stater to agree with them. Such supporters are about to go the way of the Dodo bird. What we see now is a fragmented dem party and media and a terrified Deep State who are trying to use old methods to get what they want. It isn't working and won't. Rebuilding would require a visionary and they seem to be lacking in those as well. The current nature of their party doesn't encourage or reward visionaries. It's not about ideas for the dems, it's about who you know and how you, personally, can benefit from the situation. Biden was a perfect model of the old dem party. BO was as well, he just had different goals and was slicker than most. Can dems, as they currently are, navigate in the new structure Trump is building and the American People are supporting? No. The game is completely changing and Trump is the master. Dems are going to have to earn the support of the American People with no one else to support them. Right now, they have no idea how to do that, and many in leadership don't even understand the necessity that they should do this. They even lack the skills to go about it.

Biden-Harris Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith filed a motion Monday to dismiss all felony charges against President-elect Donald Trump in relation to the January 6 election-interference case. Trump was accused of interfering in the 2020 election and was indicted in August 2023 on multiple charges, including conspiracy to defraud the U.S., conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights. On Monday, Smith petitioned U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, who is presiding over the case, to dismiss the case in accordance with the DOJ’s policy to not prosecute sitting presidents.

Our pollster was in the field last week, and the results will be published in the January issue of Thinking Minnesota. We asked questions that were intended to help explain why people voted the way they did in this year’s presidential election. I’m going to leak just one finding from our poll, which I thought was remarkable. We asked whether respondents approved or disapproved of a series of Trump initiatives, one of which was the

Do you remember the liberal meltdowns after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton for the presidency in 2016? There were huge “P-hat” demonstrations (riots), widespread outrage, and unhinged commentary from the corrupt media. Now, we still see that today, some eight years later, as Trump won yet again, but it’s not the same. There’s a feeling of defeat emanating from the left. Mostly, we see videos of mentally disturbed Democrats losing their stuff on social media and misty-eyed anchors at MSNBC and CNN still trying to tell us our Democracy is in peril (their ratings prove that few are listening anymore), but we haven’t seen any serious coordinated reaction.

The Florida Republican Matt Gaetz has made his first big move since withdrawing from consideration to be Donald Trump’s attorney general – by starting an account on Cameo, the website that lets ordinary people pay for video messages from celebrities, dubious or otherwise. The news website Semafor first reported the move on Friday. The revelation came a day after Gaetz withdrew from the confirmation process, under fire over a House ethics committee investigation of allegations of misconduct including allegedly paying an underage girl for sex – all of which Gaetz vehemently denies.

Byron York, the doyen of the conservative media – I can remember seeing his shaggy mane at Supreme Court Nomination Hearings for the Senate Judiciary Committee in the mid-00s – wrote a truly fascinating column recently about the Democrats' mood post-election. In his column, York reported: Democrats are angry about a lot of things. But the three that have attracted some attention in the last few days are 1) the massive amount of money Harris spent and where it went, 2) the campaign role Harris gave to former Rep. Liz Cheney, and 3) the part the media played in Harris’s loss and Trump’s win. All have Democrats nearly gagging in

About a month ago we learned that Chinese hackers had targeted the phones of Donald Trump and J.D. Vance. The hackers, dubbed "Salt Typhoon" were known to have targeted their phones, along with the phones of other government figures, however it wasn't known exactly how far they got. Yesterday, Sen. Mark R. Warner, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said this was the worst telecom hack in US history. The networks are still compromised, and booting the hackers out could involve physically replacing “literally thousands and thousands and thousands of pieces of equipment across the country,” specifically outdated routers and switches, Warner said.

A draft text released Friday from the environmental negotiators at the U.N.’s COP29 climate alarmism summit would demand that wealthy nations commit to gifting poorer countries $250 billion a year between now and 2035. Climate activists responded to the proposed contribution with outrage, claiming the sum is “paltry” and “a joke.” COP29 — formally the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) — is the 19th edition of the U.N.’s official assembly to discuss how to globally address the alleged climate crisis. It is currently taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan, and scheduled to conclude on Friday, though the disagreements over the provisions in the outcome text

How soon they forget! Or pretend to do so, anyway. Yesterday's events proved rather traumatic to the Left. In one fell swoop, Donald Trump managed to strip them of an easy punching bag with Matt Gaetz' removal as Attorney General nominee, and then moved quickly to appoint Pam Bondi instead. That had a panel at MSNBC practically endorsing Bondi in their haste to warn Democrats of the danger ahead. "We should all fear her," analyst Jason Johnson said, "because she's competent!" With the early primary polls on her side, Democrat Party insiders say Kamala Harris is thinking seriously about trying again for the presidency in 2028. “Of course, she’s going to try and run again,” someone the Daily Mail describes as a “well-connected Democratic strategist,” told the outlet. The strategist added that Kamala’s ambition is only one thing driving this decision. “Despite some hesitation, Harris has generated a lot of sympathetic reactions from professional Democrats in Washington,” reports the Daily Mail. “They describe her campaign as ‘near flawless’ but say she struggled to separate herself from President Joe Biden’s record.”

Pam Bondi, Trump’s nominee for Attorney General now that Matt Gaetz has withdrawn, is an interesting choice. Trump’s electoral victory has advanced the demise of MSNBC and CNN for good reason. The fall of NBC, ABC, and CBS should follow. Each of these so-called news outlets has betrayed their viewers for as long as they have been on the air. They consistently misled their viewers day after day to the point that Trump’s victory was a major shock to their systems. Those blinkered viewers sadly believed what those networks told them -- that Trump could not possibly win, that Harris would win in a landslide. They misled their viewers so egregiously that those who only watched those outlets were understandably shocked by Trump’s win.
