California bill mandating health warning
labels on gas stove sales passes in state legislature

Gas powered stoves in California could now come with a health warning label similar to what you'd find on a pack of cigarettes or other tobacco products, according to a new proposed law in the state. California lawmakers passed a bill at the end of August that would make it illegal to sell a gas stove that is manufactured or sold online on or after Jan. 1, 2025, or sold in a store, "unless the gas stove bears an adhesive label attached in a conspicuous location," according to the text of the bill. Gov. Gavin Newsom has until the end of September to sign the bill into law.

Comments:

Even more preposterous than the drowning warning California requires on buckets.

I read an article years ago that stated ladder manufactures were out of room to affix all the required warning labels. Must be some inside graft in the label making industry that pushes this. I believe mandating car seats (look at the age/weight rules and you'll shake your head) was a lobbyist coup. Companies like Graco rejoiced.

Pretty much everything you buy has a label on it about being known by the state of California to cause "reproductive harm" or some such foolishness. There are so many they arent even noticed anymore. They are ignored, much like the silly Surgeon General's cigarette warning. Besides, I dont even live in California so their warning doesn't apply to me.

Democrats in the California state legislature who wring their hands about gas stoves also enable the death, injuries and financial loss caused by uninsured English language illiterates on the roads and criminal gang activity. When democrats don’t do serious harm to society they are notably irrelevant.

I have a new name for this Governor, Governor Nerosome. As he fiddles away putting stickers on stoves and pandering for the illegal vote, constituents are homeless jobless in the streets living in their cars and now being chased by the police as they try to find places to sleep. Long ago I lived on the high desert in CA. Every year it seemed that there would be tragic deaths due to the ignorant using barbecues for indoor heating and sealing their windows against the cold winds with tape. What would this fool legislature have put the warning stickers on? There are even suffocation labels on the tiniest plastic bags these days.

The IDF eliminated several Hamas commanders of the Tel Al-Sultan Battalion during joint operations between the IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), the military said on Tuesday. The commander of Hamas’s Tel Al-Sultan Battalion, Mahmoud Hamdan, and three additional company commanders from the battalion were reportedly killed. Hamadan played a significant role in the October 7 massacre, according to the IDF. Soldiers from 401st Brigade identified terrorist squads using drones and directed air force aircraft towards them. This attack, along with additional strikes, effectively dismantled the command chain of the Tel Al Sultan Battalion and killed dozens of other terrorists from the battalion.

Much of the noise coming from the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris last week had to do with a media-driven narrative that Harris “won.” Maybe so. In initial polls after the debate, Harris padded her lead. But will the debate win be enough for the Democrats’ own rank-and-file voters, who believe the party used an undemocratic method to select its nominee? September’s I&I/TIPP Poll suggests the answer is yes. Start with the fact that the Real Clear Politics polling average puts Harris up just 1.7 percentage points nationally, and a sliver-thin 0.2 percentage points in key battleground states.
