Former Vice President Dick Cheney, a lifelong Republican, will vote for Kamala Harris for president, his daughter Liz Cheney said Friday. (snip) In a campaign ad for Liz Cheney as she sought a fourth term as Wyoming’s lone congressperson, Dick Cheney called Trump a “coward” for trying to “steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him.”
The ad did little good for his daughter in a deep-red state that once held the Cheney family dear but is now thoroughly in Trump’s corner. By a 2-to-1 margin, Liz Cheney lost her Republican primary to Trump-endorsed attorney Harriet Hageman.

I am not and have never been a Dick Cheney hater. This report of his support of Harris, if true, is disappointing. Or is Beltway Liz just running her mouth, when her father cannot speak for himself?

Headline isn’t quite right, should say “former Republican”. Dick’s eGOP was part of the Uniparty, the party of ruling class elites and globalists seeking to rule, rather than represent citizens. So we’ve moved on. Say goodnight Dick!

I think this all about the populist right, led by Trump, who have openly and loudly rejected the administrations of GW Bush. Naturally that included Dick Cheney who was W's VP for those eight years. To my knowledge, Cheney, or Bush for that matter, have remained pretty quiet on the matter until Dick announced his decision to vote for Harris. For myself, long an admirer of Cheney, this was a deeply disappointing. I'm not much of a Trump fan. By that I mean Trump as a person. But I thought he did a pretty damn good job as our POTUS and I'll vote for him for the third time in a couple months. It's an easy decision considering who he's running against. As well as the resume he established for himself in his first go around as our President.
Side note: Occasionally I watch The Five and wonder how Dana Perino is able to manage her commentary while her very pro-Trump colleagues skewer the "RINOs" of the old Republican party that included her former boss GWB Tough duty..

How do the Cheneys justify voting for someone with the record of Kamala Harris? If they are Conservatives (they aren't), a vote for Harris goes against everything they stand for. The Cheneys aren't Conservative. The description that would fit them best is globalist. Globalism is the real face of the left. They want global control and global wealth. It's all about wealth and power with these people.

George W's brother got trounced by Trump. That's not the way the old GOP did things. Jeb was an entitled Republican and Trump was an upstart intruder. Trump mocked Jeb as "Low Energy" which seemed to be effective. In general, GW and the people that surround him, including the Cheney's, despise Trump for beating Jeb and the way he did it.
I liked Bush to some extent but the old guard GOP were, in general, losers, especially if the face of hard Left dems. The old Guard thought that the American People would reject the Left because of HOW they acted as compared to the "proper" GOP. Instead, the old GOP, unwilling to go bare knuckled against the dems, were getting steamrolled.
The Never Trumpers STILL whine about the brash Trump and his unwillingness to bend the knee to the GOP "elite". When you see the mess that Biden/Harris and their foot soldiers have made of America and you still are willing to support them to "get even" with Trump, there is something seriously wrong with you. People like Liz Cheney were/are willing to pervert law and proper government process to "get Trump". That is seriously messed up.
I saw the results that Trump achieved. I see the remade Conservative SCOTUS and many lower courts. I see the HUGE difference their Conservative decisions have made. I see an unstable and dangerous world made that way by not separating the bad from the good countries and even siding with the bad ones. I see that Trump made clear thinking decisions and alliances that pushed the bad actors into smaller and smaller boxes. All these differences between Trump and Biden/Harris are stunningly real and impactful. That MATTERS. Citizens that value America can not possibly vote for Harris and vice versa people who vote for Harris are NOT good citizens that care about this country.

In Cheney's mind, Trump was the Republican who violated the most sacred taboo within the party. He said the Iraq war was a mistake in public. This was his unforgivable sin, a heresy that demanded damnation and disconnection. Cheney built his political legacy on Operation Desert Storm, and Trump desecrated it.

I don't for a second believe "Lying Liz." Daddy Dick is either completely "non compos mentis," in the memory care facility, or she's throwing it out there just to get a "base hit" with the anti-Trump Media. There's no way "Dick" would ruin his "street cred" at the golf clubs where Republicans meet to make laws.

Establishment Republicans don't think much of middle America, a fact they don't bother trying to hide these days. Democrats stopped pretending to be "for the little guy" decades ago.
When Bush #2 was elected, he pretended to care about illegal immigration and the impact on middle America. He called Americans trying to secure our borders "vigilantes." That's what he thinks of Americans. By his second term the mask was off. He and his globalist pals weren't interested in conserving or preserving anything for middle America, his brother called illegal immigration "an act of love" and both parties neglected their duty to American families by allowing imported workers to artificially enlarge the American labor pool. Corporations got just what they wanted with suppressed wages. Obama was all for trade agreements that were harmful to our own citizens, and our interests. Remember how secretive they were? Our own elected leaders weren't allowed to know what was in them!
Biden invited mass illegal immigration with no regard for our own citizens, their safety, or their right to elect their own leaders. Dems are still trying to figure out how to give his unvetted "newcomers" citizenship so they can stuff the ballot box with votes from pretend "asylum seekers". Hard to believe anyone is worried about Donald Trump being "corrupt" after the way politicians in both parties have been treating Americans.

Like so many so-called "republicans", Cheney was more aligned with the war-mongering defense contractors and those wanting to use 'diplomacy' to upend countries right to SELF DETERMINATION. Like JFK's effort to turn Central America AWAY from communism, his efforts were to place governments in the hands of wealthy 'friends' who could make a buck.
He is his own man but a Bushie nonetheless and the Bushes HATE PDJT with a passion! The Bushes are one-worlder elites who want to run things from behind the scenes, and this is no surprise.
