The first black female police superintendent of Toronto, Canada was demoted after she reportedly admitted to helping several black police officers cheat in order to get promoted. According to The Toronto Star, Supt. Stacy Clarke leaked confidential exam questions to six black police officers. (snip) The Star reported that in May, Clarke said in a hearing that she helped the cops cheat to counteract a “racial bias” meant to hold black police officers back (snip) “I felt at the time that (the six officers) did not have a fair chance in this process and my own history and experience of racial inequity compounded this feeling,” Clarke wrote

By far the bigger issue here is that she doesn't see it that way. Considers it as a private affirmative action that is justified because of pervasive racism. What is next? Black criminals are justified in committing their crimes because of an 'inequitable playing field'?? I am sure many guilt ridden white liberals (including those that run newspapers and elite universities) in this country agree with her. Donna Brazile does it all the time!

DEI the Canadian way. If her superiors were serious, they would have kicked her off the force.

Does this support the notion that blacks are incapable of getting ahead on their own, and that they need affirmative action or even cheating?

Anyone who worked for a medium-sized or large corporation in the last fifty years - or anyone who was a cop or a firefighter in the last thirty years - recognizes this behavior. Once an affirmative-action hire gets to a certain level, they start trying to drag all their brothers and sisters up to that level.
I worked for a very large insurance company (the "good neighbor") for 30 years. I worked for a while for a black division manager. He got two black women promoted over several other better-qualified white guys. For the next year, he called both of them every morning; he wanted to know how they were doing, if anyone was giving them any trouble, if their immediate superiors had criticized them, and if there was anything he could do for them. Eventually, one was demoted after a year (she spent most of her time calling her extended family long-distance on the company's dime) and the other was terminated for misconduct (she flew to another city 1,000 miles away and thought she could manage her unit by telephone and laptop for two hours each morning...). The division manager was eventually promoted past his level of incompetence, to another part of the country, and died at age 53; there were credible rumors that his heart attack was brought on by substance abuse.
"DEI" is just "affirmative action" updated.

My wife worked in a city department where all the office staff were racially mixed. As soon as her office got a black supervisor, he hired only blacks to fill vacancies as they became available. Because my wife was non-black, the work environment became difficult for her. As soon as another job opened in the private sector, she left. Blacks are great at helping each other.

Out of college, I was hired by Allstate as a claim adjuster. After two years and a good performance record, including a quarterly award, a black male was hired over me as a supervisor. He was clearly not as qualified and when I inquired, I was advised that Allstate needed to make up for past issues. I had another job offer and was out of there in a month. That was 1981 and this stuff and disparate impact policies are on steroids. Never looked back and would never work for a woke company.

I once worked for a private security firm in the Middle East that got the Army contract through preferential treatment because the management was black. I don't even have to tell you the rest of the story.

So, the disease has moved north. Here she is a black woman saying that her people are discriminated against. Canada never had slaves. Blacks are there because they wanted to go there. If they feel so bad about being there a whole continent called Africa can be a destination where they can be "appreciated". Of course, the people in Africa don't think much of the American Blacks .

Anybody shocked by this. Didn't think so. This is prevalent throughout the black community. They feel they are owed this, that they don't have to study like others do. But I give credit to the ones who study hard and know they can make it on their own. Got t.

I can understand the "bending over backwards" in America for the terrible wrong of slavery and past instances of discrimination. But what the hell "sin" is Canada atoning for? A white woman/man doing this for only white candidates would have their career justifiably destroyed. The sad part of this story is everyone knows this, but is terrified to admit it.

#21 Some of the blacks in Canada are there because their ancestors traveled the underground railroad and ended up in Canada. White people accepted the risk to help their ancestors.

In my last job, I worked with a black woman who had been removed from supervisory positions at least twice for incompetence, but just transferred into staff positions. Eventually, she was made division director (and my second-level supervisor) over a highly qualified and competent white male. Luckily, I was planning on retiring within a month, so I didn't have to work for her. She was reorganized out of the job within two years.
