On Friday, the Biden White House announced it would write another multi-million dollar check to Ukraine in addition to the $113.4 billion it has already given the country. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced that the United States would provide Ukraine with a $250 million aid package that includes missiles, armored vehicles, and anti-tank weapons. Austin said the aid package will “surge in more capabilities to meet Ukraine's evolving requirements.”
“This announcement demonstrates the United States’ enduring commitment to Ukraine’s self-defense against Russia’s brutal aggression,”

We would have gotten off cheaper by fighting the Russians directly instead of passing the money through Ukraine and seeing half of it siphoned off for payoffs and weapons sold on the black market.

Billion$ in Taxpayer money spent, and how many tens of thousands of young men -Ukrainian and Russian- killed? My understanding is that in the diplomatic back-and-forth after the Soviet Union collapsed, American and European diplomats made a 'nine-jointed-promise' -that may, or may not, have been put into writing- to Russia that NATO would not expand eastward. In writing or not, my understanding is that the Russians understood that the vow had been made.
If only they had kept that promise!
NATO has expanded eastward, country after country. Poland, Hungary, Czech, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia.
A military alliance that Russia sees as hostile, getting closer and closer, pressing upon it's borders.
My understanding is that Russia said all along that Ukraine joining NATO was a 'Red Line' that they would go to war to prevent.
The arrogant fools in the Biden administration and western Europe ignored Russia and started the process to admit Ukraine into NATO, and then Russia, true to its word, attacked.
So.... is my understanding correct? Is Russia really the bad guy here, or is it the NATO leaders?
The distance from Moscow to the Ukrainian border is 284 miles, according to 'Bing maps'.
NATO missiles placed on the Ukrainian side would take how long.... a few minutes... to reach Moscow?
During the Cuban Missile Crisis, we nearly went to war over the Russians placing missiles in Cuba, which is 1100 miles from Washington.
What would the United States government do if Russia claimed an alliance and the right to place missiles a similar 280-mile distance from Washington, DC.... say in Fayetteville NC, Huntington WV, Akron OH, Buffalo or Syracuse NY, or Hartford CT?
Looking at it from 'the other side', it seems to me that the NATO governments are putting Russia in a very bad -I would say intolerable- situation.
What do you L-Dotters say?

I don't think most goes to Ukraine. I think most has been paying for the millions who have walked in or been flown into this country. It's paying for them to have a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear and spending money. It has to be coming from somewhere.

Whether it's money sent or equipment - the history of corruption in Ukraine is legion and there is and has been ZERO accountability. Yeah, and Putin is a thug - like so many other leaders - yada yada yada.

BS. We gave Ukraine missiles, not cash money. Missiles expire due to age and must be safely decommissioned. It would have cost Millions to pay a company to safely destroy these missiles. We save this money and allow the weapons to be used against the Russian invaders. Then we can purchase New weapons for our military, which we must purchase whether or not we decommission the older missiles in order to keep our stockpiles ready to use. Stop spreading Russian psy-ops.

The people of Ukraine are tired of this war. They are tired of their young losing their lives.
Doesn't Congress have anything to say about this?
It seems to me, that they must come very cheap.
Too many young Ukrainians and Russians have lost their lives.
They do not even know what they are fighting for.
Nor do we.
