I have resisted saying too much about the two astronauts whose eight-day mission to the International Space Station in June has turned, perforce, into an eight-month stay, lasting (at least) until February next year. Cox Media Group, the television and radio news conglomerate, admitted in a pitch deck to investors that its “Active Listening” software uses artificial intelligence to “capture real-time intent data by listening to our conversations,” according to the report.
“Advertisers can pair this voice-data with behavioral data to target in-market consumers,” the company wrote in the pitch deck.
At least 17 people have been shot thus far during Labor Day weekend in Chicago and three of those shooting victims have succumbed to their wounds.

Police arrested a 32-year-old woman after six people were hurt in a knife attack on a bus headed to a festival in western Germany. Authorities said Saturday that there was no evidence of a political or religious motive.

An Alabama man entered a Florida hospital for a procedure to remove his spleen. On Aug. 21, medical records provided to USA Today by Zarzaur Law show that "Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky performed a hand-assisted laparoscopic splenectomy procedure on William “Bill” Bryan, 70, from Muscle Shoals, Alabama."
Bryan's widow claims that Shaknovsky mistakenly removed his liver instead of his spleen.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley on Friday said that Judge Juan Merchan’s decision to delay former President Donald Trump’s sentencing could be an effort to avoid boosting his campaign.
Merchan had scheduled Trump’s sentencing for Sept. 18, but on Friday, he postponed the date to Nov. 26 “if necessary,” according to his order.
