At least 17 people have been shot thus far during Labor Day weekend in Chicago and three of those shooting victims have succumbed to their wounds. ABC 7 reported that the holiday weekend’s first fatal shooting occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Friday “in the 11800 block of S. Indiana.” A 49-year-old woman was sitting on a porch when someone opened fire from inside a passing vehicle. The woman was shot twice and first responders rushed her to the hospital, where she died. Hours later, just after midnight Saturday, another woman was shot and killed in the “3900-block of West Ogden Avenue.”

Only 3/17? The 2 women mentioned weren’t even moving so that doesn’t say much about gun control

Governor Jared Polis (D-CO) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that Democrats including Vice President Kamala Harris “have always been supportive of building barriers and walls for certain parts of the border.” Host Jon Karl said, “Another issue that didn’t come up in the CNN interview is her now apparent support for at least in some aspects, the border wall. I mean, we’ve seen in her ad, she uses images of the border wall. She says she’ll sign the Senate bill which provided $650 million for more border wall construction. She had called previously, the border wall a medieval vanity project,

Vice President Kamala Harris should promise to grow the U.S. economy by importing more migrant workers, consumers, and renters, according to a pro-migration op-ed writer at the Washington Post. “Legal immigration is a critical component of economic growth and solvency for our entitlement programs,” columnist Jennifer Rubin declared on August 27. There is no shortage of good ideas, ranging from dropping outdated country caps to granting foreign STEM graduates green cards to clearing the green-card backlog to increased visas for seasonal workers,” Rubin added, without acknowledging the alternative strategy of growing the economy by raising Americans’ productivity.

Maybe President Joe Biden was never a serious member of the Washington, DC, establishment — like the Clintons, the Bushes, or the Obamas — or, maybe, the establishment just had no more use for him. Either way, the knives seem to be out for the Biden family after Joe Biden stepped aside from the 2024 presidential election. In three leaks in the last month, members of the permanent political class in Washington disclosed damaging information about the Biden family. One: Hunter Biden accepted $3,101,258 from Romanian partner Gabriel Popoviciu to “influence U.S. government agencies” when Joe Biden served as vice president, Special Counsel David Weiss said in a court filing.

Police arrested a 32-year-old woman after six people were hurt in a knife attack on a bus headed to a festival in western Germany. Authorities said Saturday that there was no evidence of a political or religious motive. Three of those attacked are in life-threatening condition, police said on Friday evening. The knife attack took place in Siegen, east of Cologne. The bus was on its way to a local festival in the town and at least another 40 people were on board when the attack took place at about 7:40 p.m. Police and prosecutors said the six people wounded were aged between 16 and 30 and all were from the region.

The radical left is coming out in support of the radical leftist running for office. As seen on X, the organization Socialist International has officially endorsed Kamala Harris for president, because of course they did. "From the Socialist International, we proudly support [Kamala Harris] in her candidacy for the upcoming November 5th elections. We are confident she will make history as the first woman President of the United States," they posted. If anyone on Harris's campaign team has a lick of sense, they won't say a word in response to this endorsement... so whether or not they will is up in the air. Ultimately, this won't do anything to help Harris's case.

A frightening scenario has taken place not once but twice in East County near San Diego, California, where, on August 27, 2024, and again the following day, numerous illegal immigrants attempted to force their way onto school buses packed with children. The first incident occurred Tuesday (August 27) afternoon. According to (Jamul-Dulzura Union School District Superintendent) Liz Bystedt, three men were walking in the middle of a highway. They attempted to stop a bus at a stop on the highway. In response, the bus went around the men. The following morning, another school bus encountered a group of about 20 people as it was picking students up from the same stop

An Oklahoma community expressed outrage after a high school student was banned from flying the American flag on his truck. The decision sparked a patriotic protest from students and parents outside Edmond North High School who responded by flying a number of American flags on campus in support of the student. Caleb Horst, a senior at the school, said he was left confused by the school telling him to stop flying the stars and stripes on his pickup, particularly as he had already been 'flying it for quite a while.' Just when you thought California under the impeccably coiffed Gavin Newsom and the lunatic asylum that is the Democrats in the California state legislature couldn't get any more ridiculous, someone sets the bar even lower. Now we see that the legislature's Democratic supermajority is likely to pass a bill providing a home-buying subsidy for first-time real estate buyers of up to $150,000. That sounds like a stupid enough idea all on its own, doesn't it? Not only is this wildly inflationary, not only will it make homes even less affordable for your average Californian,

A pair of reparations-related bills for the descendants of enslaved Black Americans failed to pass in the California legislature on Saturday after backers said the bills would not move forward. Authored by Democrat state Sen. Steven Bradford of Inglewood, Senate Bill 1331 would have created a new state fund for reparations, while Senate Bill 1403 would have established a state agency to oversee these efforts and determine who would be eligible. These measures were considered key components of some lawmakers’ ambitious efforts to pass legislation aimed at atoning for what they said was a legacy of racist policies that drove disparities for Black people, from housing to education to health.

This, however, may not have been enough to change McConnell’s legacy, Schumer added.

Canadian-born writer Jennifer Szalai’s recent article for The New York Times calls the U.S. Constitution a ‘threat to American Democracy’ that is ‘beyond redemption.’ Szalai’s piece, ‘The Constitution Is Sacred. Is It Also Dangerous?’ suggests that the document may be one of the biggest threats to America’s politics, describing it as “a document that is essentially antidemocratic and, in this day and age, increasingly dysfunctional.” She criticizes the Electoral College and laments the Constitution’s protection of minority rights as a “tyranny of the minority” and a “disempowerment of majorities” and blames the founding document for being responsible for President Trump’s election in 2016.

When Kamala replaced Biden on top of the ticket, the polls told us that these states were no longer in reach for Trump. However, that may be changing. Recent polling shows that Virginia may still be in play, and Kamala is headed to New Hampshire this week, which may be a sign that her campaign is worried about the state. Now the gang has taken over apartment complexes and unleashed a growing wave of violent crime.
