The father of Colt Gray, the teen suspect in the Apalachee High School shooting, has been arrested, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday.
Colin Gray, 54, is being charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children, GBI said. The 14-year-old shooting suspect has been charged with four counts of felony murder. GBI Director Chris Hosey said at a news conference Thursday night that the charges against Colin Gray stem from "knowingly allowing his son to possess a weapon." He was in custody and being held at the Barrow County Detention Center, officials said Thursday.

Former President Trump delivered a major economic address in New York on Thursday, announcing his plan to cut the corporate tax rate to 15% and create a "government efficiency commission" led by Elon Musk, while vowing to "make America richer and stronger" if elected in November. (snip) The government efficiency commission would be tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government and making recommendations for drastic reforms.
Trump said Musk "has agreed" to lead that commission.

Hunter Biden pleaded guilty Thursday to all nine federal tax charges he faced, staving off his second criminal trial this year just before it was set to begin, according to The Associated Press.
In a stunning and last-minute twist, U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi accepted the plea change on the same day jury selection was scheduled to get underway in Los Angeles federal court. Biden admitted to withholding at least $1.4 million in taxes over four years in the throes of his addiction to cocaine, spending it instead on a lavish lifestyle.

Colt Gray was given the gun he used to shoot dead four people at his Georgia high school as a Christmas present from his father months after they were questioned by the FBI over alleged threats.
The 14-year-old was arrested on Wednesday at Apalachee High School in Winder, minutes after authorities say he opened fire on students and teachers.
Law enforcement sources told CNN Thursday that the teenage shooter received the gun for the holidays this past December.

As District Attorney of San Francisco, Kamala Harris proposed a program for drug dealers that would have allowed criminals to only be charged for selling narcotics on their third arrest.
San Francisco’s chief of police at the time sent an October 24, 2005 letter to Harris declining to participate in the program, “Operation Safe Streets,” according to a copy of the letter obtained by The Daily Wire.
“This proposal asks us not to arrest, but instead detain and release observed narcotics sales suspects pursuant to Penal Code Section 849(b) P.C. When the same suspect is arrested the third time for narcotics sales, your office would then charge all three counts,”

Kamala Harris has been ducking reporters and not answering questions. She gave one softball interview — but with the aid of her "emotional support governor," Tim Walz. But now the debate is quickly approaching on September 10. As we reported, they are now trying to argue that Harris is "fundamentally disadvantaged" by having the mics muted when she's not speaking.
But that's the very point that Joe Biden asked for — former President Donald Trump didn't ask for that. So, once again, right out of the box, the Harris team is being dishonest about that. Harris was also the one insisting on how they had to keep to the rules/date

The Republican and Democratic conventions are over, and it’s clear which party was the favorite of taxpayer-supported PBS in their nightly three hours of live coverage in prime time. Not even the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump quelled the overwhelming negativity with which the PBS panel greeted the Republican Party Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee in July.
Yet a month later, Vice-President Kamala Harris and a familiar crew of Democratic faces were greeted rapturously by the same network at the Democratic Party Convention (DNC) in Chicago.

If Harris’s lead in the Blue Wall states lasts until Election Day, she will garner 270 electoral votes, even if she loses all the other swing states.
In recent elections, not just individual polls but also poll averages have turned out to be misleading.
Differences between final averages and actual results usually have reflected underestimates of Trump’s vote share more than overestimates of support for Democratic candidates.

Chutkan did not issue a ruling, but she is expected to release a scheduling order as soon as Thursday evening.
President Trump and Special Counsel Jack Smith presented opposing arguments for how the January 6 case will proceed in a joint status report filed last Friday night ahead of Thursday’s status conference.

Remember Joe Biden? It's hard to believe, but despite his escalating dementia, he's still the President of the United States because nothing matters anymore. He's also still speaking publicly on occasion, and on Thursday, he managed to admit the Inflation Reduction Act was a scam.
Why did he do that? The simple answer is that he's senile and doesn't even realize what he's saying half the time at this point. BIDEN: My investments, through my investments, the most significant climate change law ever, and by the way, it is a $369 billion bill, it's called the, we should have named it what it was, at any rate.

It's been a while since Special Counsel Jack Smith's legal team and that of former President Donald Trump faced off in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. The 2020 Election case brought by Smith against Trump has been in limbo since it went up on appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court on the presidential immunity issue.
Since the SCOTUS July 1 ruling on the scope of immunity, the parties have made various filings, and Smith has filed a superseding indictment, but Thursday marked the first day the parties were actually back before Judge Tanya Chutkan in person, a fact which Chutkan acknowledged as she greeted Trump attorney John Lauro.

Something is happening in California. After being screwed over by the Democrat Party on their promises of reparations, Black Californians are threatening to sit out 2024 or sabotage it for the Democrats; whether you believe that or not, it is unprecedented that this voting bloc has actually threatened to exercise their political power, albeit small, in this way. As RedState reported, Democrat State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil decided to change her registration to the Republican Party. Political expediency? As a presidential candidate in 2020, Kamala Harris supported several radical proposals to phase out gasoline-powered cars by 2040. She also supported a mandate that required 50% of new car sales by 2030 to be EVs.
That was when Harris was running against other Democrats who vied with each other to see who was the most hysterical environmentalist and who could ban gas-powered cars the quickest.
This is 2024, and public attitudes toward EV mandates and phasing out gas cars have changed considerably. Seventy percent of Americans oppose phasing out gas cars at any time while demand for EVs has cooled to the point that auto manufacturers around the world are reinvesting

The board ruled on Wednesday that the phrase “From the River to the Sea” is allowed on Meta-owned social platforms, despite its anti-Semitic implications. The expression is used by terrorist organizations and radical Islamists to advocate for Jewish genocide and the abolishment of the nation of Israel.
This decision exposes a glaring double standard in the board’s ruthless approach to so-called hate speech, particularly posts about policies relating to transgender and non-binary individuals.

Something just doesn’t add up in the ascension of Kamala Harris to the Democrat party’s presidential nomination. A key link is missing in the chain of events.
Consider the facts of the case:
(1) By no means was Harris the first draft choice to grab the nomination, having failed to distinguish herself as a presidential candidate in 2020 or subsequently as Vice President.
(2) Within minutes of Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race, she received his endorsement and was anointed as the putative nominee.
(3) Quotations attributed to Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama have appeared in the press expressing, in retrospect, a preference for having had an open convention, or, in Pelosi’s reputed words,

Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly seeking advice from the political strategists behind the Labour Party’s landslide victory in the July U.K. election, but any advice they can offer her is unlikely to improve her electoral prospects.
In 2024, the Labour Party won an enormous majority in the House of Commons. In a climate in which liberal parties are losing ground to populist, right-wing parties, the result has been viewed as a road map for left-of-center parties to return to electoral success.
One of the chief architects of this campaign was Deborah Mattinson, who had argued that Labour needed to win back its traditional base of voters in the old industrial parts

Colt Gray, the teen suspected of gunning down four people at a Georgia high school Wednesday, has been on the FBI’s radar since last year — when he was investigated by local authorities in connection to online school shooting threats, the bureau revealed.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office identified Gray, then 13, as a possible suspect and interviewed him and his father.

In a recent and now widely seen Tucker Carlson interview, a guest historian named Darryl Cooper casually presented a surprising number of flawed theories about World War II. He focused his misstatements on the respective roles of Winston Churchill’s Britain and Adolf Hitler’s Germany—especially in matters of the treatment and fate of Russian prisoners, the Holocaust, the systematic slaughtering of Jews, strategic bombing, and the nature of Winston Churchill. Because of the size of the audience Carlson introduced him to, and because of the gravity of Cooper’s falsehoods, his assertions deserve a response.

Officials said Gray 'denied making the threats online' at the time, and the only action taken was to warn local schools to 'continually monitor' the troubled teen.

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) criticized former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) after she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, noting that Cheney and Harris “get rich” while American children die in wars overseas.
While speaking to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in Arizona, Vance described Cheney as being a “person whose entire career has been about sending other people’s children to fight and die for her military conflicts.” Vance added that both Cheney and Harris “get rich” when the United States “loses wars instead of winning wars.”
