The Democrats' razor thin control of the Senate is not looking very solid at this point. The latest good news for Senate Republicans comes in the form of an AARP poll out of Montana which shows Republican candidate Tim Sheehy leading Democrat Jon Tester by 8 points.
Vulnerable Democratic Sen. Jon Tester trails his GOP opponent by 8 points in a new independent poll of Montana’s Senate race — a result that could very well tip control of the Senate to Republicans.
Republican Tim Sheehy took 49 percent of the vote, compared to Tester’s 41 percent,

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that people should judge for themselves if Russian President Vladimir Putin was teasing, trolling, or being entirely serious when he said he would prefer Kamala Harris as U.S. president over Donald Trump.
Putin expressed a preference for Harris while he was attending the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on Thursday.
“I told you our favorite, if you can call it that, was the current President Mr. Biden. He was removed from the race, but he recommended all his supporters to support Ms. Harris. So we will do the same. We will support her,” Putin said.

Massive protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the wake of the news of the murder of six hostages by Hamas faded by the end of the week in Israel — though weekly protests will continue on a smaller scale.
Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets last Sunday and Monday, as Israelis absorbed the news of the horrific mass murder. Some hostage families and left-wing activists blamed Netanyahu for the failure to reach a hostage deal with Hamas — even though Netanyahu had agreed to terms suggested by the Biden administration.

One of the things that is just so infuriating is when you look at the way Democrats and Republicans are treated in the media, in particular, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris versus former President Donald Trump.
They are constantly telling lies and repeating hoaxes about Trump, yet the media not only doesn't call them out on it, they repeat it and spread the hoaxes without question. Then they say Trump lies. It's a constant propaganda war machine to indoctrinate the public. The good thing is now, with the rise

Harvard Professor of Law Emeritus Alan Dershowitz has proven to be a wealth of (often but not always) solid commentary and analysis in recent years, as he is one of the few on the left side of the political aisle who’s been willing to point out that much of the endless Democrat lawfare against Donald Trump has been a banana republic style of justice and runs counter to our Constitution.
He’s also been a lifelong Democrat, which has been head-scratching to me. I sometimes wish I could ask, “How can you be a lifelong Democrat—did you hear what you yourself just said?”

Kamala Harris has been trying desperately to leverage her background as a prosecutor and former California Attorney General to position herself as a "law and order" candidate. But that narrative took a significant hit on Friday when the nation's oldest and largest police union, the Fraternal Order of Police, delivered a resounding rejection of her record by endorsing Donald Trump for president.
"Public safety and border security will be important issues in the last months of this campaign," Patrick Yoes, national president of the Fraternal Order of Police, said in a statement. "Our members carefully considered the positions of the candidates on the issues and there was no doubt—zero doubt

Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA) said Friday on ABC’s “The View” that Vice President Kamala Harris should not underestimate her opponent, former President Donald Trump, in a debate setting.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said, “Kamala Harris is running a very different campaign than she did when she ran in the 2020. She’s moving to the center on a number of issues and walked back previously held positions like calling for banning fracking. She’s gearing up to do this must-watch debate with former President Trump on Tuesday. Do you think it’s a strategic mistake that she hasn’t explained some of these positions she’s changed

Statistician Nate Silver on Friday released his latest 2024 presidential election forecast, which shows former President Donald Trump at 61.5 percent and Vice President Kamala Harris at 38.3 percent.
The rise in Trump’s chances of 15.4 percent is a flip from Silver’s forecast on August 23, when Harris’s chances of winning were at 53.5 percent and Trump’s at 46.1 percent. Those numbers came right after the Democratic National Convention, when the vice president was still enjoying a mainstream media honeymoon.
A few weeks have passed since then, and Harris has not held a single press conference, opting for one

Mason Schermerhorn last texted his mom from the restroom before he was discovered as one of the four killed in a mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, a chaplain and youth minister who tried to help find the teen said.
Ronald Clark had stopped at a store on his way home Wednesday morning, when he learned of the shooting from his wife via phone call.
He rushed to the scene, and quickly offered his services to law enforcement at the command post. He was instructed to assist crews on the investigative side.
About an hour later, he said he started seeing the students, who were "hurt."

Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign hired a marketing firm run by Judge Juan Merchan’s adult daughter, according to an ethics complaint that accuses the New York state supreme court justice of having a conflict of interest that should disqualify him from presiding over the hush-money case against former president Donald Trump.
The complaint, filed on Friday by Representative Elise Stefanik (R., N.Y.), reveals that the Harris campaign paid $468 to Loren Merchan’s political consulting firm Authentic Campaigns on July 30, nine days after Harris replaced President Joe Biden atop the Democratic ticket. “This indicates that one of the very first things that Harris did upon taking over

BALTIMORE -- One student is hospitalized and another is in police custody after a shooting Friday inside Joppatowne High School.
According to Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler, a 16-year-old student allegedly shot a 15-year-old during a fight inside a men's bathroom just after 12:30 p.m.
That victim was flown by medical helicopter to the hospital, where he is in serious condition. The alleged teenage gunman ran from the school, but was captured a short time later.
"Our hearts are breaking for the victim and the victim's family," said Harford County Schools Superintendent Dr. Sean Bulson. "This should not be happening in schools."

An American citizen has died during a protest in the West Bank, Fox News has confirmed.
The State Department says it is aware of "the tragic death" of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, although did not provide any more details.
The agency did not say how she died. However, Reuters, citing the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, reported that a U.S. citizen taking part in a protest against settlement expansion in the West Bank died of her wounds on Friday after being shot in the head by Israeli troops. The incident occurred during a regular protest march by activists in Beita,
