The United Nations is “terrified” at the prospect of a second Trump presidency, according to a leaked conversation with a senior official at the global agency. “I’m not sure the United Nations is going to survive a second term from Donald Trump,” Jorge Paoletti, an associate legal officer at the UN Office of Legal Affairs in New York, told an undercover reporter from podcaster Steven Crowder’s Mug Club.

Comments:

Oh! This is so upsetting. All those wonderful globalists are a-scared. Gee - - I wish I could give every one of them a warm hug.

The UN should first have to pay all its parking tickets to NYC. That would balance the budget for several years. Then, tear the building down to the fourth sub basement, ship it to the middle of the Atlantic, and dump it. Then the UN should move to somewhere who wants it, like Zurich, Davos, the Hague, Hell, just not here.

The first thing that struck me while reading this was the entitled, oblivious attitude of this Jorge Paoletti, crying salty tears about how he fears that Trump will end the UN gravytrain. He thinks its alright for the US to lag economically for the sake of 'leveling the paying field' . Some rich irony though at the end, Jorge fears the US won't follow stricter regulations about CO2 emissions...but fails to mention that-regardless of the US response-the Chinese will never be able to match it in 100 years either. Why can't you grow your own economy without penalizing someone else's, Jorge?

While I would like to get us out of the UN and would also like the UN to get out of us. there is a lot of lovely marble in that unholy heap! I'd hate to see all that marble flung into the East River. It was such a grandiose idea when first proposed nearly 80 years ago. I did the obligatory tourist thing and visited the building in 1963. Bought a pack of fancy-smancy recessed-filter cigarettes at the UN. It is easier to quit smoking than to get out of the UN, I betcha!

Is Kamala Harris having second thoughts about picking Tim Walz as her running mate? If she isn't, she probably should be. A new poll out of Pennsylvania is shedding some light on just how much of an own-goal that was. Before getting there, though, the topline is really good news for Donald Trump, showing him tied in the head-to-head and leading in the five-way matchup (which is more relevant). It appears Harris' momentum has been completely halted, with no perceivable bounce from the DNC. Bob Casey, the Democrat senator up for re-election in Pennsylvania, only being up two points is also a huge result for Republicans.
