More than 50 cars were involved in a street takeover in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday as some went up in flames, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Video shows a car completely engulfed by a fire, sitting in the middle of an intersection as a thick black cloud of smoke rises from the vehicle. Other cars can be seen as they try to drive around the inferno. LAPD said several vehicles were impounded after authorities responded to the area near East 18th Street and Main Street, where participants intentionally set two of the cars on fire.

No wonder people are fleeing the "Golden State". The other hard fact is that the ones leaving are mostly the ones with the means to do so. AKA taxpaying citizens that CA can't really afford to lose. The state is already running a huge deficit and they will be asking the federal government for a bailout ie: thats us...the taxpayers in the rest of the country.

Psst...they didn't light heir OWN cars on fire...those belonged to someone else. They were stolen. The numerous small explosions during the fire were fireworks going off. Many of these recent events have included cars full of people racing around shooting off massive amounts of commercial looking fireworks

FTA — No one was arrested, police said. FTA — Los Angeles City Councilman Kevin de Leon said that the event is unacceptable. FTA — It's just another reason that Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, California Highway Patrol and LAPD combined forces to create a task force to address the takeovers. No arrests, a weasel word response from a democrat politician and a task force. This is the democrat version of a crackdown on street takeovers.

Poster #15 is absolutely correct. There is not one word in the article about what was being "protested" - - and who was doing the protesting. I guess it's not important to know why two cars were set ablaze - - and thousands of people - - incuding law enforcement - - were extremely inconvenienced. Professionalism in "journalism" is completely dead.

Conservative voices on the Supreme Court united to overturn a decades-old decision that gave a lot of deference to federal agencies and their ability to write rules with little input or oversight from Congress. In a pair of decisions — Relentless, Inc. v. Department of Commerce and Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo — the Supreme Court ruled that the decades-old Chevron deference, a judicial test that would give deference to federal agencies so long as their interpretations of federal rules are "reasonable" and so long as Congress had not spoken directly on those rules, was not a valid test for regulatory agencies.

The 5-4 decision granted requests by Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia, as well as U.S. Steel Corp, pipeline operator Kinder Morgan and industry groups, to halt enforcement of the EPA's "Good Neighbor" plan restricting ozone pollution from upwind states, while they contest the rule's legality in a lower court.

Many states are failing to track how frequently children in foster care facilities are abused, sexually assaulted or improperly restrained, leaving them vulnerable to mistreatment, the U.S. Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General said in a report Wednesday. The findings come as hotel heiress Paris Hilton heads to Congress to lobby in person on the problem. The report follows a Senate committee investigation that revealed children are subjected to abuse in foster care facilities around the country that are operated by a handful of large, for-profit companies and financed by taxpayers.

A Jewish mom and her husband were attacked and beaten at a Brooklyn elementary school graduation by an Arabic-speaking family — who taunted them with shouts of “Free Palestine!” “Gaza is Ours!” and “Death to Israel!” she told The Post. The mayhem erupted at PS 682 in Gravesend just after the school’s fifth-grade graduation — which was themed, ironically, “All you need is love.” Instead, the Jewish woman’s husband was thrown to the ground by members of the other family. One man put him in a chokehold, he said. Others grabbed his legs as they kicked and punched him.

For some reason, high-speed rail is a hot-button issue for liberals and a frequent point of criticism from Chinese communist propaganda and Europeans when they attack the U.S. “How can you call yourself a developed country when you don’t have high-speed rail?” they ask. The reality is that high-speed rail would be more expensive and less efficient than our current travel infrastructure. High-speed rail works in Europe and China because of government subsidies, higher taxes, and because people typically travel shorter distances and have fewer travel options. The U.S. has more cars per capita, more highways, more airports, and more railroads than China or the EU. Additionally, Americans prefer to drive
