Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer told President Biden's campaign that her state was no longer winnable after Biden's disastrous debate performance last week, Politico reported Monday. The news arose from a call between Whitmer and Biden campaign Chair Jennifer O’Malley Dillon. Sources familiar with the call told the outlet that Whitmer expressed frustration that her name was being raised as a replacement for Biden in the wake of the debate. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and former House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., reaffirmed their support for Biden during television appearances Sunday.

Comments:

I live in Michigan and this awful governor is power mad!

Since Slo Joe was "elected" the consensus among Marxists in the Dem party is now any idiot can do this job. Whitmer feels she is just the idiot for the job. Newsome too!

What's funny is Gretchmer's name is being tossed around as a possible replacement for Old Joe. She has an incentive to spread dire election predictions.

Poster 2, I agree. There is a sequence that allows me to bypass the log-in: 1. Forward the article in a text to yourself. 2. Click the link. 3. Select reader view available on the address bar. So far, no prominent democrat has called for Biden to get out of the way. But this statement by Whitmer is a step toward that. After the first well known democrat politician says Joe has to go, everything falls apart for him, I think.

Re #9, good advice, but using Firefox, I find that if I click on a Fox News article, and move my cursor to where I know the "reader view" icon will appear, and rapidly click on reader view when it pops, I can bypass the Fox "free if you give us your email to sell" crap. I don't find it necessary to do the other steps, but .....no two computer systems or new viewers work exactly the same, and even the same brand computer, same OS and same viewer can have lots of different settings and optional software which affect how these things work. So....your mileage may vary.

Listened to a pundit who thought the only chance the Dems have is a ticket of Michelle MyBelle Obama, Gretchen the Bad Witch Whitmer (MI) and Gov Shapiro (PA) who nobody knows but is Jewish in a time where the Dem left is on antisemitic rants. Of course, everybody forgets the cackling one in the room -- Kamala Harris. Is she going to go quietly away? And remember, if quietly is not her game, there's a 25th amendment that she can start the process of invoking. With, of course, the support of the loyal opposition.

CEO of the National Audubon Society Elizabeth Gray defended the decision in a press statement, explaining that the organization’s namesake, John James Audubon, was a naturalist and illustrator who made "an important contribution to the field of ornithology in the mid-19th century and there can be no doubt of the impact of his life’s work and passion for birds."

Polis had agreed to work with local authorities in Denver to help send migrants to their final destinations. Mayors Eric Adams of New York City and Lori Lightfoot of Chicago called on Polis to end his assistance last week as their cities also struggle with a surge in migrants.

Dr. Anthony Fauci believes the Centers for Disease Control will soon provide updated COVID-19 guidance on using face masks in outdoor settings, calling it "common sense" to do so. Face masks have taken an increasingly central role in debate lately as many question the continued and widespread use of masks even as vaccinations continue to soar nationwide. A Georgia mother went viral this week after she sounded off on her local school board continuing its mask mandate through next year. Fauci agrees with some of that thought, saying that the risk for people engaging in outdoor activities is "minuscule," especially for vaccinated individuals.
