"The government knows best. The state engages in all facets, systems and structures as if they are the omnipotent father who cares about the children." Change the word "father" to "expert" and you're describing the West...

As someone who traveled all over Russia for ten years, I don't disagree with what he has written, but I would caution getting all excited about the food prices. He states the prices in US dollars. When I started going to Russia, a US dollar would buy 22 rubles. Today the official rate of you buying rubles for dollars is 89 rubles. If you try to buy dollars with rubles, the apparent rate, from Russian youtubers is around 200 rubles needed to buy a US dollar. The exchange rate isn't the same back an forth, you see. Lots of Russians keep their "emergency money" in US dollars because they don't trust the ruble, so this is why the Russian government doesn't want to sell dollars cheaply. Dollars are hard currency, useable anywhere, rubles are crap, and nobody will take them anywhere else. So, the food prices are really screwy because the conversion is intentionally twisted by the Russian government. And the health car system.....I had a broken wrist from falling on ice (they do NOTHING to clean up ice an snow on sidewalks in many places, walker beware) and had a nice doc and nurse give me an X-ray, and put a very good cast on the wrist, and we paid cash directly to the doc. But the facility was built in about 1910, and the X ray machine would only exist in a museum here, probably literally made in the 1940s or 1950s. It did work, but with film, wet chemical development. That technology works, for sure, just VERY old, and exposes you to 10 or 100 times the radiation of modern systems. Frankly the cast was great, a half cast on the wrist and and "ace bandage" to keep it on. I could remove it to wash, if careful, and then adjust the tension, too, as the swelling came down. I had a US doc check it when I got home about 4 weeks later, he said the wrist wasn't straight, but I don't have any identifiable disability. OTOH, I had a shingles attack and two docs had zero clue what it was, gave me general skin creams for the rash. I went to a US doc when I got home, and the doc walked into the exam room and from six feet away said "shingles, eh, well we can fix that" and she did. Some sort of antiviral med and gone in a few days. So, not all sweetness and light in "free med care"....which I paid $$ for as a foreigner. Russians were serfs and peasants and then the doctors, and politicians class in 1917. The Communist Party took over and they are still the same....peasants and serfs pretty much these days, too, and they just don't seem to have any idea that "freedom" would be something that you'd care much about.

The Biden administration recently signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement with Ukraine, plunging the United States and the West deeper into a proxy war with Russia. (snip)In fact, NATO’s expansion east, doubling from 16 to 32 member states after the dissolution of the Soviet Union — its purported primary reason for existence — makes clear that NATO now serves less as a collective defense alliance and more as a mechanism for maintaining American hegemony and extending its influence militarily, economically, and culturally over Europe and the world at large.

A Nevada judge on Friday dismissed the alternate electors’ case against six Republicans who were alleged to have submitted fraudulent certificates to Congress in the aftermath of the 2020 election. Clark County Judge Mary Kay Holthus issued a bench ruling on Friday during a hearing at the Clark County District Court that dismissed the case, according to courtroom reporters. The judge said she was not convinced by state prosecutors’ arguments that Clark County was the proper venue to hear the case, appearing to side with defense attorneys who said the signing of the certificates occurred in Douglas County. “You have literally, in my opinion, a crime that has occurred in another jurisdiction,”

How did Rahm Emanuel put it? Oh yes, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. This semi-regular feature is usually about some deceitful narrative the propaganda news media are pushing in recent days, but there’s a high-stakes presidential debate next week and it’s better that we use this installment to anticipate what will happen then. A federal judge in Louisiana has blocked enforcement of a rule in two states that required employers to provide accommodations to employees who want to undergo elective abortions, with the judge siding with plaintiffs who argued that abortions aren’t “medical conditions” that employers must facilitate. U.S. District Judge David Joseph announced the ruling in an order filed on June 17 at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, granting a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit against the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which he found exceeded its authority in implementing the rule. The EEOC “exceeded its statutory authority” in issuing the rule and “unlawfully expropriated

This is a remarkable statistic on illegal immigration that Bill Melugin is drawing attention to. “NEW: Per multiple federal sources, ICE’s non-detained docket has exploded to 7.4 million cases, more than doubling the Trump years, and it’s on pace to hit 8 million by end of year. Each ICE officer now has to manage an average of 7,000 cases each, an impossible task given the agency’s current staffing levels. ICE currently only has roughly 6,000 deportation officers nationwide, and not all of them work on the non-detained docket.” (Image)“The non-detained docket means not in ICE detention.

If the Americans Mary Margaret Olohan writes about in Detrans weren’t victims of Democrats, their plight would be all over Hollywood, “60 Minutes,” PBS, and all the rest. There’s more than enough in the stories of young Americans reverting transgender body modifications and personas to attract entire teams of investigative reporters and creatives for years. It’s at least as big as the Big Tobacco lawsuits, the abortion industry, the Oxycontin scandals, and child sex trafficking. This lack of curiosity in a deep and dramatic story says a lot about our culture, our institutions, our media, and our rulers.

Breaking news: Conservatives believe in marriage and babies more than liberals do. This is not exactly a groundbreaking observation. But a recent Pew survey made news last week when it revealed that the political divide over having a family is not just real — it’s spectacular. It’s enormous. There is a full 40-point difference between the two sides on this issue! “The percent of Trump supporters who say society is “better off if people make marriage and having children a priority is 59%, compared to 19% of Biden voters.” Just 19 percent! That seems pretty bad. But what looks like a glitch to normal people is a key feature of anti-human

During a staged, scripted and rehearsed performance last night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joe Biden held a ceremony in Italy where the Biden administration signed a non-binding security agreement to protect Ukraine for 10 years. The agreement is bilateral between Biden and Zelenskyy, and unilateral domestically in that congress doesn’t have to ratify it. Essentially, it’s just an “I will love you forever” promise between Zelenskyy and Biden intended to make the people with Ukraine flags in their profiles feel better. Beyond that, if President Trump wins the 2024 election, he can just ignore it (which he will). You can read the agreement HERE – and the FACT SHEET

The Wall Street Journal reports that corporate America is backpedaling away from “diversity”: White-collar companies that once championed programs to recruit diverse employees are now tiptoeing away from them. PricewaterhouseCoopers and JPMorgan Chase are among those that recently removed or altered descriptions of their programs for underrepresented students. The shift came after an “anti-woke” movement took aim at U.S. companies and a Supreme Court decision overturned affirmative action in college admissions. Employers’ embrace of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives peaked in 2021, sparked by the death of George Floyd and the height of the Black Lives Matter movement a year earlier

As we previously reported, Joe Biden is taking a whole week off from being president to prepare for his upcoming debate with Donald Trump. The debate, which will be hosted by CNN, will take place on Thursday—assuming Joe Biden shows up. So far, nothing, not even Trump's conviction in the sham trial in New York City, has managed to give Biden the boost he needs to be ahead in the race, and the Biden campaign is clearly aware that this is a make-or-break moment for the Biden campaign. The 1951 J.D. Salinger novel The Catcher in the Rye has long been one of the most controversial literary tomes, inspiring films and criminal conspiracies. John Lennon’s murderer, Marc David Chapman, carried the book at the murder and continued reading it while Lennon lay bleeding at his feet. He has said that he wished to model his life after the novel's protagonist, Holden Caulfield, identifying with Holden’s misanthropic world view. John Hinckley, after his attack on President Ronald Reagan, was found to have a copy of Rye, but the book did not have anything to do with his psychosis.

It’s already bad enough that illegal aliens are going around raping and murdering our citizens. These tragedies would have been preventable if the Biden administration had instructed federal immigration officers to enforce the law. Instead, it’s been quasi-open borders for three years. Rachel Morin, a mother of five, was murdered last year in Harford County, Maryland. Police recently arrested her alleged killer, an illegal alien. This week, Jocelyn Nungaray, 12, was strangled to death by two illegals from Venezuela. And some of the media coverage has been borderline offensive.
