Ohio is doing just fine with its “open” primary system, contrary to the alarmism of Jim Renacci. The former Republican congressman from Wadsworth argued last week that the system, under which voters can change their political party affiliation whenever they cast a ballot in a primary election, had been “abused” by Democrats and Republicans who switch parties to meddle in the affairs of the opposition party. “This is called primary ‘raiding,’ and it’s no way to run elections,” Renacci wrote in a guest column published in the Akron Beacon Journal. Does that happen? Probably, but not at the scale Renacci seems to believe.

Pro-transgender groups want to conceal the manifesto of transgender school shooter Audrey Hale from public scrutiny.

The executive director of Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere (COLAGE) Jordan Budd stated, “It should not be published.” Budd also pivoted away from the shooter’s motive and directed the focus on firearm ownership, saying, “The focus should be

Activists on Wednesday demanded that the state of California pay millions of dollars to each Black resident in reparations as a way to make amends for slavery and subsequent discrimination, dismissing the idea of payments of $5 million per person as "nothing" and "too little." The demands were made at an in-person meeting of the California Reparations Task Force, which was created by state legislation signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2020. The committee was hearing comments from the public as it considers final recommendations to submit to the California Legislature, which will then decide whether to implement the measures

Today, Politico reports:
NEW YORK — The Manhattan grand jury examining Donald Trump’s alleged role in a hush money payment to a porn star isn’t expected to hear evidence in the case for the next month largely due to a previously scheduled hiatus, according to a person familiar with the proceedings.
The break would push any indictment of the former president to late April at the earliest, although it is possible that the grand jury’s schedule could change.

The Senate on Wednesday passed a bill that would end the national Covid-19 emergency declared by then-President Donald Trump on March 13, 2020.
The final vote was overwhelmingly bipartisan, 68-23. The joint resolution, which cleared the House earlier this year, now heads to President Joe Biden's desk.
The vote comes on the heels of two other successful efforts led by Republicans in approving legislation rescinding Biden administration policies. A White House official said in a statement to CNN that while the President “strongly opposes” this bill, the administration is already winding down the emergency by May 11

In 1950, Sen. Joseph McCarthy claimed that he had proof of a communist spy ring operating inside the government. (snip) The Hamilton 68 episode played out as a nearly shot-for-shot remake of the McCarthy affair, with one important difference: McCarthy faced some resistance from leading journalists as well as from the U.S. intelligence agencies and his fellow members of Congress. In our time, those same groups lined up to support the new secret lists and attack anyone who questioned them.
When proof emerged earlier this year that Hamilton 68 was a high-level hoax perpetrated against the American people, it was met with a great wall of silence in the national press.

The RESTRICT Act is the very definition of a Trojan horse: innocuous on the outside, lethal on the inside. And it is being wheeled toward the gates, with the help of Republicans in Congress. (In case you missed the story of the Trojan Horse — the actual one, not the virus — you can find it here.)
Ostensibly, the RESTRICT Act is designed to protect Americans from TikTok — you know, that nifty piece of Chinese spyware masquerading as a fun way to showcase dance videos, asinine behavior, and other things people can live without. And Congress is interested in protecting the country from bad international actors.

It's been said that we are currently in a battle for the soul of America. It's an appropriate turn of phrase, theologically speaking. Just as God wants to save souls and restore them, patriots want to save the soul of America as founded, restoring her to her place as "the shining city on a hill" once again. Just as Satan wants to destroy souls and subjugate them, leftists seek to destroy the soul of America as founded, subordinating her to the interests of globalists and the ambitions of our communist adversaries, particularly China.

Thirty years ago, on March 29, 1993, China formally amended its constitution and adopted the "socialist market economy" as the country's economic system.
The move marked a significant step in the nation's decades-long economic "reform and opening-up" process, which began in 1978 following years of political, social and economic upheaval caused by the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution.
It laid the foundation for the "development of the socialist rule of law," and by incorporating the concept into the constitution, shaped the direction of China's economic development, according to the People's Daily, the newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee.

If Americans are concerned about our enemies getting bolder in their bid to disrupt the U.S.-led world order, they should thank President Joe Biden.
Last week, Chinese dictator Xi Jinping traveled to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, the leaders outlined plans to enhance bilateral ties on issues such as trade, energy, and military cooperation. Xi and Putin furthermore agreed to support one another’s “fundamental interests,” specifically on matters concerning “sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and development.” Most notable in the joint statement released by Beijing and Moscow, however, is the expressed goal of creating a “multipolar world order.”

In recent decades, Americans have shown strong support for the idea of free trade, based on the belief that they would benefit as much as or more than our trading partners did. But in recent years, as trade and geopolitical conflict with China grew and economic growth slowed, Americans’ support for free trade has waned, as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
Given recent public debates over trade, the online I&I/TIPP Poll of 1,358 adults, taken from March 1-3, asked Americans three questions about current trade policy proposals. It was reported recently that Hollywood is making a new animated version of George Orwell’s classic Animal Farm, directed by and starring Andy “Gollum” Serkis.
The book is an explicit allegory of the 1917 Russian Revolution. Following a pig named Napoleon’s flag of equality, talking barnyard animals overthrow their human master under, only for “Comrade” Napoleon to quickly become an even worse dictator. Perhaps the most famous quote from the book is Napoleon’s justification that, “All Animals Are Equal. But Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others.”

U.S. Marshals assigned to guard Supreme Court justices during the controversy over Roe v. Wade last year were reportedly told not to arrest protesters that gathered outside their private homes.
Last year, individual Supreme Court Justices were targeted by protesters after an illegal leak of a draft decision aiming to overturn Roe v. Wade before it had been officially decided. At the time, even the left-wing Washington Post admitted such protests were likely illegal according to Title 18, Section 1507, of the U.S. Code.

Moscow's high society has been rocked by a scandal after a pair of prominent Vladimir Putin cronies were allegedly heard insulting the Russian despot.
Oligarch and former Russian senator Farkhad Akhmedov and high-profile Moscow music producer Iosif Prigozhin, both supposedly supporters of Putin, have been accused of calling him 'Satan' and a 'dwarf'.
An audio recording of what is reportedly a 35-minute phone call between the wealthy pair was shared by Ukraine's Channel Five and quickly jumped on by other outlets - as well as Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB).

The entire nation is waiting for the day when Governor Ron DeSantis announces whether or not he will be running for president in 2024. The media are definitely on the edge of their seats. Speculation is flying, and so is the chatter concerning how he will stack up against former president Trump. Plenty believe "quite well." Thus, they anticipate an announcement revealing that Governor Ron DeSantis will be running. I don't agree, however. In my opinion, Governor Ron DeSantis will sit 2024 out. No doubt, I am one of the very few,

Attorney General Merrick Garland shared on Tuesday his expectations for when a report from John Durham‘s special counsel investigation will be completed, and it doesn’t appear to be that far off in the future.
The rare update on Durham’s inquiry into potential misconduct in the Trump-Russia probe came during testimony before a Senate committee. Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) asked Garland about why former Hillary Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann, who was found not guilty of lying to the FBI in a blow to Durham’s investigation, apparently had a badge to get into the bureau’s headquarters in the run-up to the 2016 election.

Photos obtained by The Post offer an exclusive glimpse into the home where the Nashville school shooter lived and stockpiled guns — including the ones used to kill three children and three adults Monday.
The images show a typical family home with red tulips popping up in the front yard, school portraits framed on a credenza, a wind chime with a cascade of crosses hanging in a window and a child’s bike propped against an exterior wall.
But police said the brick, Tudor-style house is where the mass shooter identified as Audrey Hale hid a cache of seven guns from her parents,

Department of Homeland Security head Alejandro Mayorkas testified, on Tuesday, before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding how the Biden administration has been dealing with the border crisis. I think it’s fair to say that it did not go well.He testified a couple of weeks ago before the House and he got caught in a lie there. It didn’t go any better before the Senate.
Mayorkas was ripped apart by the committee which, at this point, has rightfully lost patience with the Biden team’s inability and lack of desire to do anything to deal with the crisis at the border.

Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) called on Republicans to spend less time on the banning of books in schools and more time stopping gun violence.
Cheney issued her comments in praise of Jenna Bush Hager, the daughter of former President George W. Bush, who said on NBC that Republicans need to worry more about making kids safe.“I have a friend in Nashville. So I knew of one of the little girls. Who is 9. Who went to school yesterday and who didn’t get to come home. So, when Henry came home from work, I said, ‘Did you see this?’ I had to whisper, because I have a 9-year-old,”
