A passenger of a cruise ship that was struck by an outbreak of hantavirus has shown symptoms of the disease while being repatriated to France, the country's prime minister has said. Sebastian Lecornu said the French national developed symptoms while on a chartered flight from Tenerife to Paris, and so all five evacuated from the MV Hondius had been "immediately placed in strict isolation until further notice". The French citizens are among more than 90 tourists to be ferried home from the Dutch vessel on Sunday, which anchored off the Canary Islands before dawn.

So now how many does that make with hantavirus out of 6 billion people? Not to minimize the severity of it but this virus turns up now and then. It usually got a couple of news cycles then faded away.

Ok, BBC. So, we see that there were some rats on board the ship whose feces made it into the ship's food supply. But can you move on now, please, BBC? This isn't your hoped-for Covid20 pandemic.

What a disaster! A cruise ship outing to a reservoir of a deadly virus - a variant of Hantavirus capable of human-to-human transmission. What could go wrong? Bet cruise lines won't let this happen again.

I'm still skeptical about the "person to person hanta" claim. They say it, yes, but is it true? So many lies about other diseases leaves me skeptical about everything they say.

The Andes variant of Hanta IS capable of human-to-human transmission albeit requiring prolonged close contact with someone infected. That is true but rare though from the news one would have thought we were soon to experience another world ending epidemic.

The South Carolina House voted last night to open the door for redistricting in a special session a week from now. The measure still has to pass the South Carolina Senate; however, with the Indiana outcome at the forefront of their political future, the redistricting is more than likely. As a consequence, South Carolina Democrat James Clyburn is potentially going to lose his gerrymandered seat in congress. Given Clyburn’s stature as one of the key architects of the DNC ballot harvesting and election counting fraud via the AME Church network, Democrats are apoplectic.

Virginia Supreme Court Strikes Down New

The Virginia Supreme Court has struck down a congressional redistricting map approved by voters in a referendum last month, ruling that the Democratic-controlled Legislature failed to follow constitutional procedures when advancing the measure. The proposed map would likely have favored Democrats, giving them four additional congressional seats and creating a projected 10-to-1 advantage over Republicans in the state’s U.S. House delegation. The decision could strengthen Republican efforts to maintain control of the U.S. House of Representatives ahead of the midterm elections.

The U.S. Court of International Trade on May 7 struck down President Donald Trump’s 10-percent global tariffs under the Trade Act of 1974. The court ruled 2–1 in favor of small businesses and several states that contested the tariffs, which had taken effect on Feb. 24. The dissenting judge said it was premature to rule on the dispute. The challengers had argued that the tariffs were the Trump administration’s attempt to sidestep a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that struck down the president’s tariffs levied under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

The White House has published the official 2026 Counterterrorism Strategy with a foreword by President Trump. [SEE HERE] Within the outline the White House breaks down the threats and strategies for each region. It is well worth reviewing the entire document which is written in plain language that avoids any misinterpretations. (pdf image)Regionally, the White House outlines specific threats and policies. Given the current situation with drug and human trafficking cartels as well as regional conflict in the Middle East and vulnerabilities in Europe, each of these points of material interest should be highlighted (emphasis mine).

In recent developments President Trump’s ‘project freedom’ operation to open the Strait of Hormuz for captured shipping interests has been paused following Saudi Arabia’s withdrawal of support and their revocation of Saudi air bases for U.S. operations. The issue behind the Saudi decision is not that complicated if you understand the longer-term background. However, the issue behind the Saudi decision also highlights a key ¹flaw in the Promethean analysis of the relationship (and the reason I caution everyone to sip slowly from this information source). The cliff notes version is that Saudi Arabia and many of the Gulf States look at the negotiations between President Trump and Iranian interests with skepticism.

Tennessee State Rep. Justin Pearson is known for his disingenuously performative political stunts. He took it too far again on Thursday, screaming in the face of state troopers — completely unprovoked — because his state’s redistricting special session didn’t turn out the way he had hoped. To quote Pearson: “Move the f*** back! Boy! The f*** is wrong with you? You stupid motherf*****!”   The theater kid played the tough guy in front of the cameras, but instead of signaling that he won’t go down without a fight, he looked like a sore loser who disrespects the people there to protect him from political violence.

The storage clock is ticking as tankers that exported 3.2 million barrels of crude oil per day remain bottled up in Iranian ports due to the blockade by the U.S. Navy. The blockade is part of a global vise denying Tehran $13 billion in monthly revenues and seeking to paralyze Iran’s petroleum industry by forcing it to shut down when it runs out of space to store what it can’t ship. Since U.S. President Donald Trump imposed the blockade on April 13, at least 1.5 million barrels of Iranian oil have been stored every day because there’s no place to move it.

"He did win in a landslide, and we will soon be able to give evidence about that," Crowley said. Now, she didn't lay out a timeline or spell out exactly what the evidence would look like, but the message was clear.

North Korea has updated its constitution to require a retaliatory nuclear strike if leader Kim Jong Un is assassinated, according to a report. The Telegraph reported the change comes amid heightened global tensions following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other officials during a recent conflict. Khamenei was killed in an Israeli strike in Tehran as part of a coordinated U.S.-Israeli military operation earlier this year, Fox News Digital previously reported. The constitutional revision was approved during a session of North Korea’s Supreme People’s Assembly, which opened March 22 in Pyongyang, the outlet said. Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones filed a long-shot emergency petition to the Supreme Court on Monday, urging it to reinstate the voter-approved Democratic gerrymander of the state’s congressional map, which the Virginia Supreme Court struck down last week. The petition, filed on behalf of Jones and other Democratic leaders in Virginia, argued that the Virginia Supreme Court erred in ruling that an “election” in the Virginia constitution includes the early voting period, instead arguing that under federal law, an “election” refers to a singular day.

The Democrat party is facing such a host of seemingly intractable problems -- structural, financial, legal, and ideological -- that it will be close to a miracle if it survives after this year’s midterms. The below deck shuffles -- encouraging illegal alien votes, manipulating the census, making crooked voting almost impossible to check, and stuffing their pockets with illegal contributions through ACT Blue and pay-to-play schemes of USAID and NGOs -- are all suddenly being exposed and blocked. Empty Pockets Jeff Childers has done a thorough job explaining the party’s terminal crisis. Being short of funds is a good start.

The president also warned the country against “playing games” after Tehran refused to discuss its nuclear program in its latest response to America’s peace proposal through Pakistani mediators. Trump slammed the rogue Mideast country for delaying negotiations historically, ranting on the social platform.

Four others were shot and hospitalized, according to police. It’s not clear how many of those wounded were students. The prom was cut short and the school was closed Monday to give Hayes’ classmates time to grieve, Action News 5 reported.
