I do not like Chief Justice John Roberts. I think his loyalties lie more with defending the entrenched powers of the political Establishment than with defending the Constitution of the United States. I find his jurisprudence squishy. Although his decisions could be described as advancing, more often than not, conservative viewpoints, Roberts does not seem to have a consistent philosophy guiding his opinions.

Chief Justice John Roberts appears more concerned with how history will view him than he is for supporting the US Constitution.

If you looked up black robe tyranny in the dictionary, you would find a picture of Chief Justice Roberts. He and his ilk are hell bent on destroying our Republic.

He strikes me as a weak man, easily swayed by public opinion.

Roberts says we shouldn't criticize judges. Why not? In their courtroom, they deserve the respect of their office. But they are not immune to criticism any more than the President or members of Congress are. As Roberts said, they are NOT there to make law. They are there to decide if the law is being interpreted correctly. Their judgements are subject to review and criticism. When they continually make dubious rulings, they are subject to scorn and even impeachment.
Roberts has made many dubious rulings and twisted the court into a pretzel over some. The article clearly shows how he has abused and perverted his position.

Roberts made it abundantly clear a long time ago that his loyalties are well aligned with the DC establishment. His ruling in 2012 that the Affordable Care Act was to be implemented by congress as a tax was proof.

It is public knowledge that Roberts suffers from epilepsy, and has suffered at least two grand mal seizures
since appointed to the USSC.
The medicine prescribed to epileptics is mood altering, overwhelmingly powerful, difficult to tolerate.
I know this because I have been prescribed some of those medicines for my arachnoiditis. My family has made it clear that when I tried the various pills, no one could stand me.
Roberts should retire and enjoy life.

#9 -- I'm sorry you have such a rare and painful condition. Your information about Roberts' epilepsy and the related drugs is very enlightening. Hopefully, Roberts' medications are better managed than yours were.

Obamacare was much more than a tax and everybody knew it, including Roberts. When Congress exempted themselves from it, that was the second illegal step in its process. It was a huge first step into socialism.

When I read the title of this article, I thought, those words do not belong together... Roberts and Spine. The article then proved me right, who woulda thought?
He's been a disaster from the start of his tenure, but his mentor Alinsky would be sooo proud!

He is too concerned with how the court looks to everyone else. He allows politics to influence his decisions.
I had great hope for him after he educated Ted Kennedy on the Constitution during his confirmation hearings.
No longer.

This is why they hate Trump. Trump doesn't care about the DC Bubble or the Establishment. Didn't before he was first elected President and certainly not now after all they have done to try and destroy him. Once you reach this pinnacle of unlimited dark money, accessories to all the private clubs, etc etc ad nauseum. It's near darn impossible to maintain any bit of integrity or break free. His wife is a powerhouse attorney. HIs illegally adopted children from Ireland are guaranteed entrance to all the best schools, corporate jobs, etc etc ad nauseum. Why would anyone, certainly a Chief Justice, want to mess that up for some ephemeral ideal like defending the U.S. Constitution.

I don't know who J.B. Shurk is but he/she has composed a brilliant analysis (IMO). I did a search and still didn't learn much other than the articles he/she has written.

Don't forget about the leaker on the Dobbs' decision and that Roberts did not do a thing to uncover who it was in the Court who was responsible. Still today we don't know who the leaker is/was. To me that shows Roberts covers up crime.

Roberts is HIS OWN brand of "Judicial Activist" regardless of Constitutional restrictions--
Too bad his is not the champion of rights enumerated.... Check out these books for guidance on what SHOULD BE an "originalist" and the off ramps he seems to take:
"Men in Black" by Mark R. Levin, and "Original Intent" by David Barton.
Things have not been the same since then death (or is it one of foul play?) of Antonin Scalia.
