On January 1 of 2024, AT posted Glock switches: let the buyer beware. In that article I wrote: "A 'Glock Switch' is a small device that replaces the slide-in plate at the back of a Glock’s slide. It supposedly allows slide-in, fully automatic fire. Glock does make an automatic pistol, the Glock 18, which is a Glock 17 with a selector lever on the rear of the slide on the left side. Properly used by competent shooters, which means firing 2-3 round bursts, the 18 is entirely controllable. Abortion is “health care.” Illegal aliens are “undocumented citizens.” The homeless are the “unhoused,” or recently and more and more ridiculously, “people experiencing homelessness,” while people who have ties to Latin America are “Latinx” (although most Latinos in reality want nothing to do with the term).

One statistic that the gun-control crowd loves to toss around is that gun violence is highest in deep red states and lowest in deep blue states. And statistically speaking, they're correct. Per the CDC, the states with the highest per capita rates for gun murders are Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Alabama, and Missouri. The states with the lowest rates are Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Hawaii, New Jersey, and New York.

President Donald Trump on Friday evening fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Air Force Gen. Charles “CQ” Brown, who was put in place by former President Joe Biden and pushed diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Air Force.
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social:
I want to thank General Charles ‘CQ’ Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country, including as our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a fine gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish a great future for him and his family.
Brown’s first term as chairman was for a four year term, through 2027.
Hooters - known for its scantily-clad waitresses - is the latest American restaurant chain facing financial problems.
Bosses at the chain are in urgent talks with lenders and advisers as the popular chain tries to address $300 million of debts, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.
Earlier this year, Hooters shuttered around 40 'underperforming' restaurants including locations Florida, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia as it bid to cut costs.
But debts are mounting and more drastic action is needed for the 41-year-old brand.
If Hooters cannot refinance its debt, it would have to consider bankruptcy and more closures.

New York — Starbucks announced Monday it will lay off over 1,000 corporate workers and cut complex and unpopular drinks from its menu in an effort to turn around lagging sales and revamp the coffee chain.
Starbucks is cutting some Frappuccino blended drinks, Royal English Breakfast Latte and White Hot Chocolate as part of its effort to simplify operations and shrink its menu.
“These items aren’t commonly purchased, can be complex to make, or are like other beverages on our menu,” the company said in a release announcing the menu change. Starbucks is cutting 30% of its menu in an effort to simplify its processes.
