The DC mid-air crash: DEI everywhere

Original Article

Much has been written about the mid-air collision of an airliner and an Army Blackhawk helicopter over the Potomac off Reagan Washington National Airport. This is among the most congested airspaces in America, yet the Army has, for decades, routed helicopter traffic through it. Because of the subordination of our armed forces and every other organ or government, including the FAA, to DEI priorities questions of training, experience and competence are inevitable. Inevitable too are attempts to blame this crash and others on Donald Trump, a man only in office a few weeks at the time of the DC crash. Now we’ve discovered there is likely another factor involved,

Delta Airlines, one of the most dedicated DEI practitioners, has bragged of "unmanned" flights. Although you might think that Airplane's pneumatic "Auto Pilot" is securely handling things in an unmanned flight, that's actually a neologism meaning "no male crew." In Toronto recently, a Delta jet wound up wingless and upside down after a particularly hard landing. They wanted all female crews. That's what they got.

For the first time I have no faith in the NTSB that we'll ever get the full story. We all know who was flying the Black Hawk ans she shouldn't have. She did not have the hours or recent training required. She'd been serving at the WHITE HOUSE. We've seen the video of the copter flying right into the plane at slow speed on a clear night outside of their normal flight path and taking a sudden turn west right into the plane. 67 people are dead.

There's another, odd, perhaps contributor to all these crashes. 5G. We've all heard computers, phones and lap tops must be in "airplane mode," when we fly, but how many cheat? 5G interferes with accuracy of altimeters! The near collision of the landing plane and the private jet crossing the same runway, was the fault of a garbled transmission to the private pilot. He was told to STOP at that runway, not cross it, but he couldn't hear that part. Great piloting on the part of the landing commercial plane.

Blah blah blah. Please, Please, PLEASE will someone address the 800 pound gorilla sitting in this room? We knew the identities of the 13 soldiers killed in the Afghan debacle in about a day. The pilot of the helo wasn't identified for nearly 4 days. The ENTIRE social media for this person had already been deleted. The entire social media for the family of the pilot was "unalived" also. The multiple videos of the event show a helicopter T-boning a fully lit, landing lights and all, airliner on short final. The gov has spent a zillion dollars tryna tell us that "maybe this..." and "probably that..." while they purposefully hide the possibly deciding context behind this entire occurrence. There may very well be things about this event that we should learn, but won't because the most important information is being withheld. For all I know, the pilot was upset because the president had just outlawed her favorite pronouns. So guess what? We get to do this all over again someday because we didn't learn the lesson we should have because our leaders wouldn't tell us.

Yeah, #5, that's how I see it. And something new is now happening that will not bring safer skies to the aviation industry at all, military included and regardless of what happens to DEI. The federal government is broke, and today's DOGE outcomes will be followed with very serious federal budget cuts. And at the state budget level, too. America's day of reckoning is here. It's up to congress now as to how to respond to the President's proposed fiscal 2025-2026 budget. The next several months will be a full and total range war on the budget. And the military industrial complex hasn't even risen up yet to protect its waste. In the meantime, let's hope the stock market doesn't decide to run for the door.

About twelve years ago, I was flying halfway across the country on a plane with an all female crew. Honestly, it was one of the smoothest flights I have ever been on. Today, if the airline announced an all female crew, or all anything else, I would skip that flight. I want a competent crew with lots of hours. Grandson is now getting his flight hours and is also licensed as an instructor, but we all know he needs a lot more hours before he's ready to earning the big bucks. Safety first.

On CNN this morning, Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, who might be the dumbest man in government today, decried the Trump administration’s position on the Russia/Ukraine war. You can read much more at the link, but I am going to focus on just a couple of points. First, the question asked by CNN’s Dana Bash: Host Dana Bash said, “Do you think there’s hope of salvaging this relationship with Ukraine?” This is mind-numbingly stupid. The proper question, as even Zelensky realizes, is whether Ukraine has hope of salvaging its relationship with the United States. So in this interview, you know from the beginning that you are in a fog of unknowing. Murphy’s response

Every Republican president starts with distinct disadvantages. He inherits a largely disloyal and subversive federal bureaucracy, can expect nothing but hostile media coverage, and will be forced to battle for every inch against partisan judges who despise him. Considering how long the Left has owned the culture and America’s educational system, these power centers are strong. Republicans in the past addressed this problem with the failed strategy of attempting to play nice with serpents. It was akin to kissing a rattlesnake, and didn’t end well. President Trump understands that the only way to succeed with so many power centers aligned against him

In a significant policy shift, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered U.S. Cyber Command to halt all planning against Russia, including offensive cyber operations, according to a report by The Record. This directive, which does not affect the National Security Agency’s intelligence-gathering efforts, marks a reversal from the U.S.’s decade-long stance of viewing Russia as a major cybersecurity threat, following incidents like election interference and cyberattacks. One such person who had to chime in was none other than Hillary Clinton, who linked to a Gizmodo article on the report, declaring with sarcasm: “Wouldn’t want to hurt Putin’s feelings.” Hegseth shot back with an epic burn of Hillary.

Victor Davis Hanson has posted the following 10 observations across several social media platforms: Ten bad takeaways from the Zelenskyy blow-up 1. Zelenskyy does not grasp—or deliberately ignores—the bitter truth: those with whom he feels most affinity (Western globalists, the American Left, the Europeans) have little power in 2025 to help him. And those with whom he obviously does not like or seeks to embarrass (cf. his Scranton, Penn. campaign-like visit in September 2024) alone have the power to save him. For his own sake, I hope he is not being “briefed” by the Obama-Clinton-Biden gang to confront Trump, given their interests are not really Ukraine’s as they feign.

The Trump administration’s repudiation of the “green” agenda will have many benefits, not least for the environment. At Watts Up With That?, Paul Driessen states the environmental case against “green” energy succinctly. See original for links: [President Trump’s] actions will benefit wild, scenic and agricultural lands in America and worldwide. * Wind, solar and transmission line installations would have sprawled across tens of millions of acres, impacting habitats, farmlands and scenic vistas, onshore and offshore; interfered with water flow, aviation, shipping and other activities; and killed whales, birds and other wildlife. * These “clean, green” technologies require far more raw materials than the equipment they replace: electric cars need 4-6 times

As an amateur student of history, I have often been struck by how many countries have lost wars, have even seemingly been ruined, and yet have bounced back. What ultimately destroys a country? Suicide. A loss of national will, national pride, national identity. Which brings us to the current depressed state of the United Kingdom. From the Telegraph: “Nelson makes way for Yvette Cooper portrait in Parliament’s diversity drive.” Nelson, of course, is Horatio Nelson, one of the greatest naval commanders of all time–probably the greatest–the hero of the Nile, Copenhagen, and, above all, Trafalgar, where he was killed by a French sniper but lived long enough to know

And on Thursday morning, MSNBC's Morning Joe followed suit with their own interview with him entirely devoted to this topic. The mainstream media and their Democrat puppets were practically foaming at the mouth this weekend after President Trump and VP Vance had a tense exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office on Friday. Once again, however, their faux outrage has been exposed as disingenuous since a similar moment between then-President Joe Biden and Zelenskyy occurred back in 2022. Isn't it funny how quickly the left forgets their own history? The media breathlessly accused Trump of "setting up" Zelenskyy and being "disrespectful" to our ally over his perceived ingratitude. Turns out, Biden had his own issues with Zelenskyy’s lack of gratitude back in 2022.

As the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) seeks to end wasteful subsidies, it is crucial to focus on Amtrak. Founded in 1971, Amtrak began as an "experiment" to see if passenger trains could make money. Yet, with routes drawn for political gain rather than public need, it has lost money ever since. Instead of throwing good money after bad, DOGE and Congress should cut Amtrak's subsidies to $0 in 180 days. To put things in perspective, Amtrak's long-haul routes lost $635.1 million in FY2024. Short-haul, state-supported routes didn’t fare any better, losing another $565.6 million. Even the busy Northeast Corridor loses money with depreciation factored in. This financial drain isn't new;
