The left is screaming that all these are acts of vengeance. But that is not what is happening at all. Donald Trump is restoring some health and sanity to the American government, and every American owes him a debt of gratitude.
Though few noticed or realized the full implications of what was happening, the nation has passed through an extremely dangerous period. When Old Joe Biden and his henchmen decided to wage lawfare against Trump, they corrupted the justice system and endangered the very idea of a loyal opposition that the majority allowed to operate freely in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

It seems like déjà vu all over again. Last month in this space we wrote about British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s apparent embrace of various dystopian novels in formulating his policies for Great Britain. Most obvious was the government’s embrace of the totalitarian principles laid down in George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, especially regarding curbs on free speech and the filtering of common reality through the politically correct scrim of Newspeak. Then there was the demographic catastrophe described in Jean Raspail’s Camp of the Saints. This novel from the 1970s tells the story of how a tsunami of illegal migration from the Third World, combined with the moral paralysis

Born in 1918, Spiro Agnew was the first-generation progeny of Greek immigrants in Baltimore. Agnew served in WWII, and won a Bronze Star for his service. After the war Spiro obtained a law degree, and dabbled in politics after being head of a PTA.
Before you knew it Spiro was Baltimore County Executive in 1962–1966 as a Republican, a rare occurrence in solidly Democrat territory. As County Executive, Agnew projected moderation: new schools, improvements to water and sewer, and the passage of an anti-discrimination bill.
In 1966, Agnew received the Republican nomination for Maryland governor.
By contrast, the Democratic race for the Democratic nominee in 1966 was a mess.

I may disagree with Ruth Marcus, but she’s not an idiot. It’s why this piece is so baffling. There are some Democrats who haven’t lost their marbles, but this article misses the target by several hundred miles. The headline already tees us up for what’s in store: “Trump 2.0: The most damaging first two weeks in presidential history.”
The teaser is the killer: “Trump’s second term is all about curtailing government’s power and reach.”
Yes, Ruth—that’s what we voted for. How is this a surprise to anyone? President Trump's taking a hatchet to the DC political class gravy train was articulated endlessly

In a tit-for-tat move, President Donald Trump revoked former President Joe Biden's security clearance. Trump announced his plans to do so on Truth Social, saying "we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings."
In 2021, shortly after taking office, Biden had revoked Trump's security clearance. Former presidents typically retain their security clearance as those in the very small club of past presidents have a unique perspective on domestic and global matters as well as on the rarified position that they each have held. "There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information," Trump said,

Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) suggested the House Oversight Committee consider bringing in therapy dogs to help Democrats cope during a hearing on Wednesday. And wouldn't you know it? Thursday's hearing featured some adorable pups.
Not strictly for the reasons one might think.
Mr. Crane, during a hearing on 'Rightsizing Government,' noticed that his Democrat colleagues had become a little verklempt over the idea that Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team have been making efforts to slash government waste and fraud.
In fact, earlier in the hearing, the resistance party tried to catch GOP lawmakers off guard by calling for a vote to subpoena Musk.

On Thursday, the Trump administration seized a Dassault Falcon 200 business jet that Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and members of his government had been using to fly around Latin America. The plane was parked in the Dominican Republic when American agents affixed a seizure warrant to the aircraft, after Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Justice Department signed off on it:

I pray that in the not-too-distant future, we can all look back on this period of insanity and shake our heads in absolute disgust and disbelief that something so disturbing was allowed to permeate our society. Many things about life can be questioned, but whether you’re a man or a woman is not one of them. Does anyone else feel like we are living in the Twilight Zone when it takes an executive order by the President of the United States to protect women’s sports from male participation? I realize that there are far too many moronic ideas out there, but the fact that anyone

Big if true, as they say.
The Trump administration is considering three potential areas for the absorption of refugee Gazans after President Donald Trump announced that the US plans to take over the Gaza Strip and relocate those currently there to rebuild the area, N12 reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, the areas being considered are Morocco, Puntland, and Somaliland.
The report noted that what these three countries share in common is a strong need for US support, as Somaliland and Puntland seek international recognition, and Morocco has an ongoing territorial dispute over Western Sahara.
Somaliland has been looking for recognition as an independent country.

CNN analyst Ashley Allison lost it on Wednesday night, launching into a tirade over DEI and essentially accusing CNN of racial discrimination.
The comments happened during an exchange with Scott Jennings, who was offering support for the Trump administration's dismantling of so-called "diversity, equity, and inclusion" initiatives. Allison responded by claiming that as a "black woman in this country," she does "not have the same opportunity" as the others at the table.
ALLISON: I do not have the same opportunity as you. I know I don't.
CROSSTALK: And you know that too.
ALLISON: And you know what, Scott?
ALLISON: Let me just tell you about me, I'm not, I'm not.

On Saturday the U.S. Army released the name of the second pilot—reported to have been pilot in command—of the Blackhawk helicopter that collided with American Airlines flight 5342 over the Potomac River, killing 67 people. This was a marked departure from Army policy that states “Names, city, and state of deceased will be withheld until 24 hours after next of kin notification.” This was the standard process used to identify the other two members of the Army’s flight crew, Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Eaves, and Staff Sgt. Ryan O'Hara. It is the same process used to identify soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan—a process I followed as a military

The battle over funding for USAID is absolutely glorious for so many reasons.
Not only are Donald Trump and Elon Musk beginning to defund the piggy bank being raided by the transnational elite, the alphabet activists, the global left, and not coincidentally, NGOs, which are causing so much damage to the US and the world, but he is forcing the Democrats to defend the least popular spending item in the federal government. (X) No issue has galvanized Democrats as much as the temporary closing down of USAID. Democratic Party leaders marched to the USAID offices and made impassioned speeches about how vital it is to US interests.
