Less than a year before the end of World War II, then U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau drew up a nightmarish plan to punish postwar Germany. After the serial 1870-1871 Franco-Prussian War, World War I, and World War II -- along with the failed Versailles peace treaty of 1919 -- the Allies in World War II wanted to ensure there would never again be an aggressive Germany powerful enough to invade its neighbors. When the so-called Morgenthau Plan was leaked to the press in September 1944, at first it was widely praised. After all, it would supposedly render Germany incapable of ever starting another world war in Europe.

The Italian government on Thursday summoned the Iranian ambassador to demand the release of journalist Cecilia Sala, who was arrested without due process or clear charges in Tehran on December 19.
Iran responded that Sala will only be freed if Italy releases Mohammad Abedini Najafabadi, an Iranian national arrested by Italy on behalf of the United States on December 16. Abedini, 38, is a drone expert accused of supplying advanced technology to the Iranian military in defiance of U.S. sanctions. Components provided by Abedini were allegedly used in a January 2024 drone attack by Iran-backed militants that killed three U.S. service members in northern Jordan.

We reported earlier on the unbelievable news that Joe Biden was going to be giving former Wyoming representative Liz Cheney and Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MI) the nation's second highest civilian award — the Presidential Citizens Medal -- for their "work" on the Jan. 6 Committee. Translation? Climate alarmists like President Joe Biden assure us that all we need do to avert the destruction of hurricanes—or at least to lessen it—is to sacrifice offerings to the climate gods by giving up our gas-guzzling internal combustion engines and paying indulgences to Al Gore or something.
You see, humans as a species have sinned, and we must sacrifice our prosperity to prevent the end of the world. “Today, President Trump and I had a great meeting to discuss our shared priorities for the President’s second term,” Bowser said in a statement on X. “President Trump and I both want Washington, DC to be the best, most beautiful city in the world and we want the capital city to reflect the strength of our nation.” It wasn’t Bowser and Trump’s first meeting.
In 2016, Bowser met with Trump at Trump Tower, where they discussed his first transition into the White House, Axios reported.
At the time, Bowser said the pair had a “wide-ranging conversation”

Weren't we promised that with the advent of the Biden administration, the adults would be back in charge? Yeah, about that, time is getting short for them to show up. On Monday, a report was relased that a Chinese hacker gained access to the U.S. Treasury Department. According to the report, this was a state-sponsored attack, and the hacker was affiliated with the Chinese government. Although the announcement was made on Monday, Fox News said officials learned about the breach on December 8. A spokesperson for the department said:

During a recent rant on his little-watched program, O’Donnell singled out U.S. veterans, specifically from the Army, as a greater terror threat than the people illegally crossing the southern border.
A former CIA officer recently said that more than a thousand al-Qaeda operatives have likely crossed the open border and are now in the United States just waiting to strike but apparently, O’Donnell hasn’t heard that report.

In honoring Soros, Biden said:
