A political war on the Hudson erupted Monday over New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and the MTA’s controversial $9 congestion toll.
The MTA can now begin collecting the first-in-the-nation congestion fee on Sunday, Jan. 5, to enter Manhattan south of 60th Street — following a federal judge’s ruling in Newark.
While Judge Leo Gordon said environmental mitigation concerns on the Jersey side of the Hudson have to be addressed, he chose not to issue a preliminary injunction to block implementation of the toll in his 72-page ruling.

Climate alarmists like President Joe Biden assure us that all we need do to avert the destruction of hurricanes—or at least to lessen it—is to sacrifice offerings to the climate gods by giving up our gas-guzzling internal combustion engines and paying indulgences to Al Gore or something.
You see, humans as a species have sinned, and we must sacrifice our prosperity to prevent the end of the world. Unfortunately for the alarmists, the world stubbornly refuses to end, and even the supposed evidence they trot out as proof of impending doom doesn’t exactly mean what they think it means.
Take hurricanes, for example

sday, December 31. This is The Front Page, your daily window into the world of The Free Press—and our take on the world at large. Coming up: Should fifth graders be taught what it means to be transgender?; an Indian American’s heartbreak over the MAGA immigration rift; a tribute to a dog for all seasons; and more.
But first: Joe Biden’s latest lesson in deceit.
It’s New Year’s Eve, and as we close out 2024, now is a good time to reflect on the past 12 months, or as I like to call it, the big year for big lies.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said Monday that she had a “great meeting” with President-elect Trump.
“Today, President Trump and I had a great meeting to discuss our shared priorities for the President’s second term,” Bowser said in a statement on X. “President Trump and I both want Washington, DC to be the best, most beautiful city in the world and we want the capital city to reflect the strength of our nation.” It wasn’t Bowser and Trump’s first meeting.
In 2016, Bowser met with Trump at Trump Tower, where they discussed his first transition into the White House, Axios reported.
At the time, Bowser said the pair had a “wide-ranging conversation”

Weren't we promised that with the advent of the Biden administration, the adults would be back in charge? Yeah, about that, time is getting short for them to show up. On Monday, a report was relased that a Chinese hacker gained access to the U.S. Treasury Department. According to the report, this was a state-sponsored attack, and the hacker was affiliated with the Chinese government. Although the announcement was made on Monday, Fox News said officials learned about the breach on December 8. A spokesperson for the department said:

So, the America First coalition celebrated Kwanzaa – a communist nonsense pseudo-holiday recognized only by Kamala Harris and her fellow oaky Chardonnay-soaked lonely middle-aged cat women who typically teach in public schools – with a giant dust-up about foreign worker visas. Welcome to our new coalition! We’re going to have growing pains. We’ve got different factions with different views. We’re going to have to work a lot of things out. And we should do it without ritually disemboweling each other.

In fact, no Chinese ruling group has ever held indisputable sovereignty to the island.
From 1928 to 1943, the Communist Party itself recognized Taiwan as a state separate and apart from China.
If Xi Jinping thinks Trump will not defend Taiwan, will he then attack?
[T]he People's Republic is getting weaker — the Chinese economy is failing — making notions of inevitability outdated. From their standpoint, you know, maybe it's analogous to like Hawaii or something like that, like an integral part of China that is arbitrarily not part of China mostly because... the U.S. Pacific Fleet has stopped any sort of reunification effort by force," Elon Musk,

When Donald Trump won the election, Elon Musk captured the shifting media landscape perfectly. In a post on X, Musk declared, “You are the media now.”
His words were met with outrage from legacy media, but time has proven him right. Traditional media, once trusted to hold power accountable, has devolved into little more than a PR wing for the Democratic Party—and Joe Biden in particular. The past week proved it.
The National Archives recently released damning photographs showing Joe Biden meeting with Hunter Biden’s Chinese business associates. This directly contradicts Biden’s long-standing claim that he had no involvement in his son’s foreign business dealings.

As we reported the other day, Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) dropped some big truth bombs on CNN host Abby Phillip over Joe Biden and money from Chinese nationals. The biggest problem was her confessed cluelessness when it came to the question.
“I’m still waiting to see the proof of Joe Biden enriching himself. I take his brother and his son, perhaps,” CNN host Abby Phillip said. Then as I noted, Lawler did lay out a direct line. The tweet continues:

A cocky FBI decided to taunt President-elect Donald J. Trump with an X-post of Ross William Ulbricht’s laptop less than a month before Trump returns to the White House and has the authority to keep his promise to commute Ulbricht’s double life sentences with a 40-year kicker without parole following his Feb. 5, 2015, conviction. On the Silk Road, a darknet site run by American cybercriminal Ross William Ulbricht, bargaining for illegal goods and services was as easy as clicking a button. #FBI investigators seized Ulbricht's laptop and took down his criminal enterprise,” said the FBI’s X-post,

As we previously reported, a recent interim report from the Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight found that the events of Jan. 6 were preventable. It also dropped some bombshell allegations against former Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney including that she may have tampered with a witness, Cassidy Hutchinson. The report said "numerous federal laws were likely broken" by Cheney, the Vice Chair of the Jan. 6 Committee and recommended that they be investigated by the FBI. Cheney did not handle the report well, tossing a bit of a fit. She went on and on about the pages of the report:

As RedState previously reported, President Joe Biden decided to drop an unwelcome Christmas surprise on the families of murder victims whose killers were on federal death row by commuting the sentences of 37 of the 40 inmates to life in prison without the possibility of parole. "... guided by my conscience and my experience as a public defender, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Vice President, and now President, I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level," Biden's said in a statement posted to the White House website Monday.
