The Global Engagement Center, an office housed within the State Department and aiming to thwart disinformation and misinformation, has been forced by Congress to close up shop. It’s no mystery why; the taxpayer-backed GEC violated its mandate to work only overseas and devolved into a partisan enabler of speech suppression in the United States.
Here’s how.
Founded in 2016 and technically the product of an Obama-era executive order on counterterrorism, the GEC lapsed in December and lost congressional funding. Over the last two years, my investigative reporting in the Washington Examiner as well as that of Racket News journalist

REP. JAMIE RASKIN: Well, the Department of Justice traditionally has enjoyed institutional independence from the office of the president. The president has not ordered investigations into specific individuals or terminated investigations into others. That principle was, of course, tested during Donald Trump’s first presidential administration. He seemed to want to treat the Department of Justice as a mere adjunct of his own presidency, under the unitary executive theory.

Conservatives are slamming President Biden for using former President Jimmy Carter’s death Sunday to take a jab at incoming President Donald Trump.
Biden, asked Sunday what his former Republican rival could learn from Carter’s presidency, replied, “Decency, decency, decency.
“Can you imagine Jimmy Carter walking by someone who needed something and just keep walking?” Biden said. “Can you imagine Jimmy Carter referring to someone by the way they look or the way they talk?”
The political remark did not sit well with conservatives, who ripped Biden, 82, for using the opportunity to attack instead of merely honoring Carter’s legacy — and for having the audacity to speak about “decency.”

Biden campaign megadonor John Morgan called President-elect Donald Trump a “f****** genius” in a new interview, as the Republican’s November victory has prompted some soul-searching within the Democrat party.
Morgan, a successful Florida lawyer who used to be a Democrat but is now considering a gubernatorial bid as a third-party candidate, gave Trump some credit in a Politico interview published Sunday.

Trump’s first term faced significant challenges from a lack of loyalty and discipline within his ranks. Some of his appointees seemed more focused on securing lucrative book deals filled with sensational claims, while others leaked information at every opportunity. Additionally, some personnel choices were puzzling and likely hindered his ability to govern as effectively as possible. However, it seems the new Trump transition is already taking steps to address these past missteps, setting a more disciplined tone, which is likely going to mean a far more effective and efficient administration this time around.
And that’s thanks to Susie Wiles, Trump’s incoming White House chief of staff.

EXCLUSIVE: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has ended two programs that provide social services to illegal immigrants who are released into the U.S. interior, telling lawmakers that one brings "immense cost with little improvement" and that another is out of line with ICE’s mission.
The agency responded to Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., and 15 members of Congress, who wrote to ICE in May asking for more information about the "Alternatives to Detention" program, which monitors illegal immigrants not in ICE detention. The agency defended the program and said it was "an efficient and effective" program for monitoring a segment of illegal immigrants on ICE’s non-detained docket.

Something very interesting and openly obvious is happening amid the backlash that Elon Musk and the Silicon Valley network are facing to their H1B position.
Effective December 26, Elon Musk changed the Twitter algorithm to diminish those voices who would openly confront his network of supporters within Silicon Valley and beyond. If large follower Twitter accounts, like those of Musk himself, David Sacks, Vivek Ramaswamy and Musks’ promoted network of influencers begin blocking accounts on the platform, then the voices of those accounts get purposefully diminished by the algorithm.

Trinidad and Tobago declared a state of emergency Monday as murder rates soar in the Caribbean twin-island nation.
The isles — located just off the coast of Venezuela — issued the emergency order after a spate of recent slayings and as the government braces for reprisal shootings following the attempted assassination of a gang leader over the weekend, authorities said.
Under the emergency declaration, the government’s defense forces will now become de facto cops, and both will allowed to carry out raids without a warrant.

Russia’s foreign minister Monday rejected the peace proposal being floated around by President-elect Donald Trump’s team to end the war in Ukraine.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow was appalled over reports that Trump and his aides were considering pushing a peace deal that would keep the door open for Ukraine to join NATO.
“Judging from numerous leaks and Donald Trump’s interview with Time magazine on December 12, their idea is to suspend hostilities along the line of contact and transfer responsibility for confrontation with Russia to the Europeans,” Lavrov said at a news conference.

As what’s left of the Biden administration winds down, I’d like to offer an end-of-days reminder: Joe Biden wasn’t just a terrible president.
His Attorney General Merrick Garland was an equally terrible leader of the Department of Justice.
Garland, you may recall, was nominated for the Supreme Court by President Barack Obama to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, who died suddenly a few months before the 2016 election.
Republicans sat on Garland’s nomination, maintaining that the seat should be filled by a new president.
We were told that this was hideously unfair and partisan, especially because, as the Obama administration and its friendly media repeatedly assured us, Garland was a moderate, a nonpartisan

As a young freelance journalist and photographer in Washington, D.C. in the mid-1970s, I covered Georgia Democrat Gov. Jimmy Carter’s successful campaign for the presidency in 1976.
I was on the press bus when he campaigned in the primaries in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. I had press credentials to attend the Democrat National Convention in New York City in July

It’s the end of the year -- a remarkable year -- and all the experts and philosophizers are trying to understand what is going on. Their takes range from the religious to the ideological to the sociological to the scientific.
The question: is the new era that is dawning upon us a new religious awakening, as reported by Peter Savodnik at the Free Press, or a return to the sensible ideologies of Tocqueville and Burke, as suggested by Mark Lewis? Or is the future Forever Woke as proposed by Werner A. Zagrebbi on Curtis Yarvin’s Substack?

The injuries Payton received plague her to this day. Payton's story highlights, among other things, one of the most pernicious aspects of the transgender movement: the utter disregard for other people. In name, Joe Biden is America’s 46th president. His “signature” is on official documents. He is photographed periodically, whether in the Oval Office, wandering in foreign lands, or inappropriately sniffing or nibbling young children.
But he is the president in name only.
Is Joe Biden even real? As this tweet illustrates, his height varies. In one photo, Donald Trump and Barack Obama are the same height. In another, Obama is taller than Biden, and in another photo, Biden is taller than Trump. Like an Escher print, this optical illusion begs the question of whether there is more than one “Joe Biden.”

Now that the election is over, it’s time to look in the rear-view mirror and contemplate why Trump is not just the greatest political comeback in history, but the greatest showman in the world.

As if this were not enough, COSTCO is threatening its shareholders with lawsuits if they do not jump as high as the DEI devils want. Right now: "The proposal noted that while Costco has changed around the names of its DEI initiatives, they remain rather unchanged in practice. “With 310,000 employees, Costco likely has at least 200,000 employees who are potentially victims of this type of illegal discrimination because they are white, Asian, male or straight,”...

Look around you. The future has arrived.
Nearly 100 years ago, a group of deep thinkers dared to imagine what life would be like in 2025. [SNIP] English writer H.G. Wells, the author of “The Time Machine,” “The War of the Worlds” and “The Invisible Man,” foretold a new world order for 2025.
Speaking at a dinner gathering at the Hotel Cecil in London, Wells predicted that global power would rest with confederations of people instead of independent countries.
“In a hundred years, there will not be numerous nations, but only three great masses of people — the United States of America, the United States of Europe and China."

A machinists strike. Another safety problem involving its troubled top-selling airliner. A plunging stock price.
2024 was already a dispiriting year for Boeing, the American aviation giant. But when one of the company’s jets crash-landed in South Korea on Sunday, killing all but two of the 181 people on board, it brought to a close an especially unfortunate year for Boeing.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and aviation experts were quick to distinguish Sunday’s incident from the company’s earlier safety problems.

So, the America First coalition celebrated Kwanzaa – a communist nonsense pseudo-holiday recognized only by Kamala Harris and her fellow oaky Chardonnay-soaked lonely middle-aged cat women who typically teach in public schools – with a giant dust-up about foreign worker visas. Welcome to our new coalition! We’re going to have growing pains. We’ve got different factions with different views. We’re going to have to work a lot of things out. And we should do it without ritually disemboweling each other.

In fact, no Chinese ruling group has ever held indisputable sovereignty to the island.
From 1928 to 1943, the Communist Party itself recognized Taiwan as a state separate and apart from China.
If Xi Jinping thinks Trump will not defend Taiwan, will he then attack?
[T]he People's Republic is getting weaker — the Chinese economy is failing — making notions of inevitability outdated. From their standpoint, you know, maybe it's analogous to like Hawaii or something like that, like an integral part of China that is arbitrarily not part of China mostly because... the U.S. Pacific Fleet has stopped any sort of reunification effort by force," Elon Musk,

For decades, Jews were the driving force behind Hollywood, as well as playing a prominent role onscreen. In the same way, they were once important behind-the-scenes publishers and, of course, major contributors as writers. Now, though, both Hollywood and the publishing world are blacklisting Jews, as antisemitism is the name of the game in these leftist bastions. Thankfully, one publishing house is still there for them, especially if, as Jews, they’re “out and proud.”
With few exceptions, the big players in old-time Hollywood were Jewish

As influential as I might enjoy imagining myself to be, I don’t have a direct line to Trump, or even an indirect one for that matter.
But, six degrees of separation — you know the thing. Someone reading this almost certainly will be tangentially connected to Mar-a-Lago World. Now, all it takes is once quick glance at Morens in action to see he’s soft — and likely very easy to turn state’s witness. This guy, being Fauci’s top capo, knows where all the bodies are buried — proverbially and possibly literally.
There may never be any greater opportunity to leverage Fauci’s personal connections against him,

As President-elect Trump prepares to take office, so-called public health activists are ginning up a new pandemic. This one is "bird flu." Not the bird flu that's been around for decades, but a new one that infects livestock and could possibly mutate into a killer virus much worse than COVID.COVID fascist Deborah Birx has been on the case for months, advocating that we test cattle for bird flu. In fact, Birx is trying to stoke panic.Birx isn't the only member of the old gang itching for a reunion. Trump's CDC director, Robert Redfield, has been preaching doom via bird flu for months. Here, he's warning about a 50% fatality rate.

Vice President Kamala Harris lost soundly to President-elect Donald Trump, despite spending well over $1 billion on her campaign. And if those who voted for her are any indication, she might want to hang up her presidential aspirations, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
The online national I&I/TIPP Poll asked 1,411 adults across the country this question: “In the 2024 election for president, did you vote for Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, another candidate, or did you not vote for president?”
Of those answering, 41% answered “Donald Trump,” 38% said “Kamala Harris,” 15% said “Did not vote,” 3% responded “Other,” and 3% preferred not to answer.

Veteran CBS News reporter Jan Crawford dinged news organizations for not thoroughly covering President Biden’s “obvious cognitive decline” this year until it became unavoidable during his disastrous debate against Donald Trump over the summer.
Crawford, the network’s chief legal correspondent, insisted stronger reporting on the topic could have changed the entire election as she responded to a question from “Face the Nation” moderator Major Garrett about the most underreported story in 2024.
“Undercovered and underreported, that would be, to me, Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline that became undeniable in the televised debate,” she said on the Sunday morning show.

Just when you think “higher” education can’t get stupider, woke universities say, “Hold my puberty blocker beer.” Tufts University is offering a course called “Transcestors” this upcoming semester, and it’s as imbecilic as it sounds.Did you know transgenders were erased throughout history? They were so erased they didn’t exist until modern Western de-civilization! Fortunately, Tufts University is eager to inform America’s youth of the made-up — er, forgotten — history of transgenders (for a high tuition cost, of course).
Tufts’ Spring 2025 courses for its Experimental College include several woke propaganda classes, including “Innocence and Systemic Racism in the American Criminal Legal System,” “Climate Futurism,” “Feminist Politics of Place”

President Joe Biden reportedly wanted the Department of Justice to target then-former President Donald Trump for prosecution far sooner and more aggressively than it did, and regrets naming Merrick Garland as Attorney General.
The report, published in the Washington Post on Saturday, echoes reporting nearly three years ago by the New York Times, which suggested in 2022 that Biden was frustrated with the slow pace of Garland, a “ponderous judge.”
The Post noted:
In private, Biden has also said he should have picked someone other than Merrick Garland as attorney general, complaining about the Justice Department’s slowness under Garland in prosecuting Trump, and its aggressiveness in prosecuting

Democrats are boasting that Jimmy Carter's death could overshadow Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration due to a long upheld tradition.
Standard protocol states that all flags should be flown at half mast at federal buildings for 30 days following the death of a former president.
Carter, the 39th U.S. President, died at 100 years old on Sunday afternoon, almost two years after entering hospice care and just 22 days before Trump's inauguration on January 20. Outspoken MAGA critics and Democrat voters have quipped that the half mast flags during such a pivotal moment are Carter's parting gift to Trump after their longstanding feud.

President-elect Donald Trump honored former President Jimmy Carter upon hearing of his death at age 100, graciously remembering him as a man who did his best “to improve the lives of all Americans.”
The president-elect honored the now-deceased former president in a post on his Truth Social account Sunday.
“I just heard of the news about the passing of President Jimmy Carter. Those of us who have been fortunate to have served as President understand this is a very exclusive club, and only we can relate to the enormous responsibility of leading the Greatest Nation in History,” Trump wrote. The president-elect then graciously characterized Carter’s tenure,

The hunters are becoming the hunted.
Federal prosecutors involved in the Trump witch hunts and January 6 cases are exiting the Justice Department at a record rate.
Many of Jack Smith’s prosecutors also fear they will go bankrupt defending themselves if Trump’s DOJ decides to launch an investigation into the Biden Regime’s weaponization of the department.
The swamp is draining itself. The Wall Street Journal reported:
Justice Department lawyers who have angered President-elect Donald Trump and his allies are facing tough decisions about whether to stay in government—and how to best protect themselves from threats of retribution
