The public appearance last fall of a senile Jimmy Carter was one of the worst cases of public elder abuse I’ve ever seen. It was ghoulish of his family to wheel him out in such an undignified condition in service of a political stunt on behalf of the Democratic Party, even if Carter wanted to bask in the glow of knowing that soon he would no longer be regarded as America’s worst modern president after Joe Biden’s ignominious end.
I generally disdain speaking ill of the recently departed, and there are some aspects of real genius to the Carter story, especially his insight into how an obscure figure could rise fast

Ooh, I had not seen that picture of Carter in his wheelchair, near death. Wow. That's not the way most of us would want to be remembered.
Well meaning but naive, President Carter was a horrible president, a "nookier" engineer, whose mistakes are, to some degree, still with us today, especially as regards Iran and radical Islam. As an ex-president, his involvement with Habitat for Humanity was one of the most selfless things a retired chief executive has done. Unfortunately, he also had a compulsion to write silly books and interfere in foreign affairs long after exiting the presidency; his political instincts were no better than Biden's. That alone makes his a bad ex-president no matter how many houses he helped build with Habitat. In dealing with foreign leaders, some friendly, some not, he had a hard time being on our side, or on Israel's side, and seemed to love dictators, the more fragrant the better. Here's an impromptu poem: "You just know / Jimma inhaled the intoxicating glory of / Fidel's BO." So did the mother of Canadian PM Justin Castreau. She liked the way he stank.

The picture I saw of Jimmuh out that day, his head was back and his mouth was gaping open. It was an awful picture.

Carter ran for a job that he was unqualified for, won and was unable to rise in stature to meet the demands. Working on roofing and carpentry can never make up for pulling the lid off of Iran and the whole Middle East, embarrassing the country militarily and allowing China to control the Panama Canal. He was a self-righteous simpleton.

What a sad photo. I have not much good to say about Carter. His policies were bad for the USA, and he was a disgusting, yet unwavering supporter of Islamic terrorists.
His years long support of terrorists is absolutely, totally unforgivable. Any good he ever did is cancelled by supporting Islamic terrorists.

Remember long lines at the gasoline pump, the Iran hostages, and giving away the Panama Canal? I DO.

Carter's "successes" were 1) killing the US economy, 2) giving away the Panama Canal, 3) creating the modern Middle East by enabling the overthrow of the Shaw, and 4) allowing the US military to wither away.

Every time a Republican President made a bold statement on world affairs, whether it was Reagan's "Evil Empire" or W's "Axis of Evil," both totally accurate, you could count on the media wheeling out Jimmy Carter to solemnly pronounce that "it will take the United States twenty years to recover from that statement."
You can eulogize the POS if it makes you feel better.

People that worked with Carter leaked out that he was an anti-Semite. One guy quit and refused to help him on a book because of what he characterized as anti-Semitism within the pages of the book and not only from what he heard in person. I suspect Carter was one of those Baptists that hated Jews because "they killed Jesus".

Yes, #3, Jimmah looked awful and almost dead in the last pic I saw of him when he "voted". Medical science kept his ticker going too long.
